I knew when we were still wearing hoodies in late May, there was going to be a price to pay... And here it is 🤣 Thankfully, even though it's still pretty warm, it's come down off that triple digit bs
What is the normal gross weight of a hauler? Have noticed that you guys have made a few running starts in some of your videos. In my head I always imagine a hauler with a lot of empty space, kinda like we see it in the infield during a weekend, but I tend to forget that when on the road there are two cars/trucks, all the spare parts, the generator, all the pit lane equipment, pit box, etc. Are you guys creeping near 80K these days?
The last time I scaled one it came out to 71,600. They used to be closer to 80,000. As the rules have changed over the years that allow teams to do less and less work at the track, they aren't bringing as much to the track. I remember a time when the teams had a different engine for qualifying and the race, plus spares. Now there's an engine in each car and one spare. Also, in Cup and Xfinity, the teams don't transport their pit boxes. Champion Wheel and Tire transports and maintains the pit boxes because they have outgrown the space in a race car hauler.
That reminds me of the heat in Salt Lake City, was very glad to back in the truck
I've been all over the world, and I'm sure I've experienced similar or more intense heat.... But I can't remember when
it has been crazy hot everywhere lately

Nice channel bud. When it’s so hot to do have an Apu with AC or do you just leave engine running all night.
We rarely stay in the trucks, but when we do some teams idle and some have APUs.
