This is hands down the best Trek show of all the new Trek shows. Captain Freeman has had so much growth this season. The old Freeman would've called Mariner into her office and yelled at her for putting her life in danger, new Freeman recognizes something is wrong, recognizes who Marier's friends are and brings them in to figure out what's wrong.
That was great to see Wil again both on the Ready Room and as a a flashback to his time at the Academy before the events of "The First Duty." I was expecting something about Ransom getting his teeth knocked out by Mariner as a lure for the Moopsy. Oh well. Great season of Lower Decks!
Such a great episode of Ready Room! Dawnn Lewis is a treasure, and SUCH a good captain! I can hardly wait for the next (and unfortunately last) season of Discovery!
Like others have said, great to see this show back, wish circumstances could have allowed for more coverage of this season of "Lower Decks" but completely understand and I support the actors and their craft. And also thank you to Wil and the Ready Room writers, staff for pointing out how fantastic this year has been for Trek. 3 amazing seasons of top notch television.
I completely forgot that Jerry O'Connell and Will Wheaton played in "Stand by Me" together. Mostly because Jerry O'Connell looks so different that my brain put his childhood role in the wrong mental file. It's pretty amazing to see them here together and to know what they've both creatively done in the decades since. 💝
There's something funny about Jerry saying "I live with Rebecca Romijn" like he isn't married to her. "I just happen to cohabitate with this other first officer. Total coincidence."
After a fantastic final episode of the season which ranks up with the best of all Trek, I say this show should really be renewed for 7 seasons, not just 5 seasons. The writing on this show is top notch, they should consider going longer than 5 seasons. Well done Lower Decks, great last episode this year.
LD is my favorite of the modern Treks! How they manage to pack a satisfying story arc into half the standard runtime and continue to develop characters throughout the seasons and the series as a whole is truly exceptional. I connect with these characters on a whole different level than the live action series (no sleight to them either, of course!)
It was the first episode of season two when Jack Ransom pushed Mariner and he took the full blast of strange energy is when I knew Jack was a great commander and more than just a stereotype of hulky manliness. I mean he is that too. Lol
Man I'm really going to miss this show whenever it comes to pass off into yet another footnote in the film canon. Hope it gets at least two more seasons but I'm not holding out, I'm fully prepared for the very last one to be the next in a year or two. This show has followed me in all of my adult life and it's going to be hard to see it off but I wouldn't have it any other way.
I'm convinced when they were casting for Lower Decks, McMahan was like, "Can we get one of the other kids from Stand by Me"? I'm still waiting for Corey Feldman to cameo.
Wil Wheaton got so much backlash over the curse of TNG and long after it's ending. It's always a joy to see how he kept his enthusiasm for Trek despite all the hatred he received. I really hope the fandom nowadays advanced itself, as I'm sure humanity will do one day too....
Wil, I love you man. im a bit older but your character always spoke to me. and you as a person has helped me with my own child issues. love you man and thank you for everything. you have helped my life Star trek has kept me human.
Bello poter seguire The Ready Room anche dall'Italia (sottotitolato). Grazie. Un ringraziamento particoalare a Wil Wheaton, fantastico. Nice to be able to follow The Ready Room also from Italy (subtitled). Thank you. Special thanks to Wil Wheaton, fantastic.
This was a great ready room episode for a great season finale, however, Wil, I'm very disappointed you didn't mention anything about Star Trek Prodigy or even more about the return of Sito Jaxa!
Confirmed. Beckett is the Wesley of her mothers' ship, Sito's death was also from the episode "Lower Decks", and "The First Duty" even got a title shout out before this episode.
Great episode of the Ready Room. I feel like I'm in a comfy setting with my community discussing our optimistic future. As for Lower Decks, I honestly feel each season is better than the previous. That almost never happens, especially with live action. TOS had a few great episodes in season 3 (Tholian Web), but as the budget dries up, the satisfaction per episode can too. Strange New Worlds maintains greatness but this 2nd season had stand out moments that were above and beyond the season 1. The performance of Yetide Badaki as Neera Ketoul was award worthy. "Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow" just killed me. - Amazing. I can't wait for Season 3 ,how will Scotty fit in? How will Chappel change when she meets Richard Corey?... but I will have to be patient. -------------- All that said, Season 1 of Discovery is still my favorite - that's probably because Bryan Fuller always resonates with me. Firing him, led to characters that no longer grew believably. Had the producers KEPT FULLER and allowed him to create whole new crews and whole new puzzle boxes we'd have 3x the number of unforgettable characters in canon. Instead, the scrappy yet stoic conflicted human raised on vulcan turned into a smiley jazz dancy character who I don't recognize. I cared about all of them in Season one. I still care about Tilly. I always will... I care about her smoking ash with Green-Balok. I really care about her bonding with the queen of dilithium. I love Tilly forever. -- I love Tendi forever too. --- To any producers who ever hire Fuller again, just go with his weirdness... trust it.. it will be better for all. I look forward to seeing how it goes for the Discovery Family .. I want Stammets to be happy. I want Detmer and Owosekun to pilot a future vessel that saves the future universe. I want Saru to become king of his homeworld. I want the evil emperor Georgiou to become the Loki of our reality.and I want this show to END before they do anymore cringe stuff. By the way. Tilly snores and drools and she is my heart.
Season 5, we absolutely _must_ have a live action episode. Perhaps a time travel episode where NCC-1701 accidentally travels 120 years into the future and Pike has to call Boimler for help?
Just so those of you who never served understand, when you wear the uniform, making sure all your rank and other insignia is right is *very* much a thing. The main difference here is that it's the fans who enforce it instead of a hierarchy of people who have the authority to punish you. Lord knows the costume and continuity people were, over the years, less strict than any of my Drill Sergeants.
Just as it was a very "Orion thing to do", when lending them a broken-down ship, wouldn't it be equally "Orion" for Tendi to just go home, stay the night, then leave again?
A live action movie with the original VOs to finish up the series when it gets cancelled some day needs to happen, if only to shut the "it's animated, it's for kids" crowd. Gillian is the only one of the main Lower+Upper deckers who needs some CGI help, everybody else is good to go with some makeup.
has anyone ever thot wesly is just peter pan i mean at this point he has ran away to neverland to avoid his being an adult and to fight pirates with his lost boys and now as of picard he took wendy there as well
Thank you for showing a trailer for Discovery Season 5 at the end, which was already shown at NYCC a year ago. Don't you have anything new? Filming for the 5th season ended six months ago and there hasn't been a trailer for any major events. Neither at San Diego Comic Con, nor on Star Trek Day, nor at NYCC. And now the same trailer is shown again as a year ago. It's a bit sad.
I am so happy to see The Ready Room back on duty. It's been too long without Wil!
The Irony is that he is in the final episode
I'm actually annoyed that they only post these on Facebook, and this is the only one I've seen on UA-cam (legally), basically period.
@DarylVanHumbeck thank you I didnt know they were on Facebook, just thought they were inaccessible for particular countries
@@DarylVanHumbeck they are on p+
Ironically this was likely filmed ahead of time due to the strikes. SAG is still on strike.
The apology to Harry Kim killed me 😂
There's always Star Trek Online...
It's funny seeing Jerry tell Wil that Ransom is telling Mariner to effectively "Stand by Me"
This is hands down the best Trek show of all the new Trek shows.
Captain Freeman has had so much growth this season. The old Freeman would've called Mariner into her office and yelled at her for putting her life in danger, new Freeman recognizes something is wrong, recognizes who Marier's friends are and brings them in to figure out what's wrong.
for me it rivals SNW for the best new Trek
That was great to see Wil again both on the Ready Room and as a a flashback to his time at the Academy before the events of "The First Duty." I was expecting something about Ransom getting his teeth knocked out by Mariner as a lure for the Moopsy. Oh well. Great season of Lower Decks!
Jerry having to pulling his costume pants up…the Ransom Maneuver. 😂
Getting to watch Wil and Jerry spend some time together gives me all the feels.
Such a great episode of Ready Room! Dawnn Lewis is a treasure, and SUCH a good captain! I can hardly wait for the next (and unfortunately last) season of Discovery!
Finnaly the abomination called Discovery will end..the worst trek ever.
I think if someone told me that Dawnn Lewis is Tawny Newsome's actual mom, I would accept that.
Oh, shush, you @@Bulldog_Trader
Dawnn looks the same as she did in A Different World. Seeing Jerry and Wil in the same room.....awesome!
Man it's crazy to think Wil and Jerry's friendship goes back to Stand By Me
That is such a great movie, and they were great in it.
Gillian Vigman almost looks like a Caitian. What a perfect voice selection for Dr. T'Ana.
Always fun to see the actors talk about their characters and their experiences. Love the Ready Room and hope it continues.
Loved this season and hope Lower Decks goes on for years! Great episode here with our captain and first officer.
I’ve definitely missed The Ready Room.
i was half expecting Frakes and Stewart show up every time they said Capt. - #1 combo
After a fantastic final episode of the season which ranks up with the best of all Trek, I say this show should really be renewed for 7 seasons, not just 5 seasons. The writing on this show is top notch, they should consider going longer than 5 seasons. Well done Lower Decks, great last episode this year.
If Paramount + should decide to make an Orion spin off next to another season of Lower Decks. Would be on board.
As soon as I saw Wesley animated this week, I was waiting for this RR episode to upload! Return of the Crusher!
LD is my favorite of the modern Treks! How they manage to pack a satisfying story arc into half the standard runtime and continue to develop characters throughout the seasons and the series as a whole is truly exceptional. I connect with these characters on a whole different level than the live action series (no sleight to them either, of course!)
Hearing Jerry talk about the uniform issues; we now have the Ransom maneuver.
It was the first episode of season two when Jack Ransom pushed Mariner and he took the full blast of strange energy is when I knew Jack was a great commander and more than just a stereotype of hulky manliness. I mean he is that too. Lol

I'm still waiting for Corey Feldman to cameo.
TBF... Jerry was busy making Sliders while Voyager was being made
Sliders was a GREAT show. It'll be amazing if they manage to put a small reference in the Lower Decks
There's something about "... an open bar at a Betazoid party." that just tickled me! I'm not sure why it was so hilarious.
Wil Wheaton got so much backlash over the curse of TNG and long after it's ending. It's always a joy to see how he kept his enthusiasm for Trek despite all the hatred he received. I really hope the fandom nowadays advanced itself, as I'm sure humanity will do one day too....
I may hope they have done this already.
this is the first time i've realized that Jerry and Will have known each other for 40 freakin years now.
This show is so good and they are so good at their roles!
Wil, I love you man. im a bit older but your character always spoke to me. and you as a person has helped me with my own child issues. love you man and thank you for everything. you have helped my life Star trek has kept me human.
Will and Jerry, together since they were kids, "Stand by Me".
I'm very glad to see will wheaton doing the ready room again!!!! What a wonderful human being ❤
Pure delight as always! Thank you!!
I am looking forward to all of the new star trek shows/seasons in 2024. I am excited.
Man my heart got heavy hearing Wil say Disco’s “final season” 😢
We’ve Missed you Wil!! 💪🏼🙌🏼🙏🏼🖖🏼
This was a great ready room episode for a great season finale, however, Wil, I'm very disappointed you didn't mention anything about Star Trek Prodigy or even more about the return of Sito Jaxa!
Good to see the Ready Room again, thought it was still going but I just couldn't acess it because of my region in Australia
I
Lower Decks has become my favorite Star Trek and I’ve been a fan since the original.
No more geolock!!! Thanks! Can be seen on the apps too? (Austria)
20:41 have we just discovered the Ransom Manoeuvre?
Great show all! OMG I can’t wait for the upcoming (and final) Discovery season and Michelle Yeoh release. What a ride!
Great show, Wil... Thanks 😊
So glad you are back. You are the best. LLAP 🖖
Confirmed. Beckett is the Wesley of her mothers' ship, Sito's death was also from the episode "Lower Decks", and "The First Duty" even got a title shout out before this episode.
Great guests, Great episode!
Terrific ep. Loved the season finale. Happysad about Disco's final season
only until Jerry O'Connell said it did I realise why him and Will Wheaton have known each other for so long
Great vibes. Loved this episode.
Great interview
One of the best Ready Room yet!
Pay the actors fairly soon 😉
Missed you Wil

Wish they would have done ready room for all the episodes.
Dear Jerry: voyager is now continuously streaming on Pluto tv for the rest of the year, just leave your tv on
I was wondering where this was. Thank goodness
Please keep going with More Seasons!
End the STRIKE!!!!
Please and thank you
Will Wheaton and Jerry O'Connell together! Stand By Me is a great movie...
Assuming this was recorded before the strike?
CERRITOS STONG!
Dawn Lewis was great in "I'm Gonna Git You Sucka"
Forgot that Wil Wheaton and Jerry O'Connell go way back when they did the 1986 movie Standy By Me early in their careers.
I absolutely love this show!
So happy, it looked like we were gonna loose Tendy! BTW the answer is C!
Harry Kim needs to turn up on next Lower Decks, c’mon McMahan!
good show Will lifer fan been there for it all now 46 years old still watch the legacy stuff over the new
Welcome back! Wasn't the same without RR.
No mention of Star Trek Prodigy during the wrap up, huh?
Lower Decks is The Best Trek right now.
Now I want lower decks to do an episode where the core 4 reenact Stand by Me.
star trek forever 🖖

Love the cast.
How do I get access to the other videos in this?
A wrap up of the year's Trek with nary a mention of Prodigy...
Ready Room is a Paramount produced show...like they're going to promote a show that is now going to be airing on Netflix? Paramount is not that nice.
Great job!
I still can't believe that Vern grew up to be Ransom.
Shame they are ending the show. Best modern Star Trek to date.
So... Jerry wouldn't know if Jack Ransom is related to Rudy Ransom?😂
He's the original towel guy
heeeeeeeey thats jalisa from a different world!
Enjoy the hiatus, Wil, looking forward to seeing you when Discover returns.
this episode did walker brandt dirty! Why no mention even of Jean Hajar?
Waiting for a Season 5 shout out to Jerry's pants falling down
How the heck is Dawnn Lewis 62 years old? Dang.
Just as it was a very "Orion thing to do", when lending them a broken-down ship, wouldn't it be equally "Orion" for Tendi to just go home, stay the night, then leave again?
with Starfleet academy coming will we see a cameo of Wesley crusher there?
live action lower decks when?

Gillian is the only one of the main Lower+Upper deckers who needs some CGI help, everybody else is good to go with some makeup.
❤
Would it be so hard to acknowledge that there was a writer's strike that prevented Ready Room for most of the season of Lower Decks?
has anyone ever thot wesly is just peter pan i mean at this point he has ran away to neverland to avoid his being an adult and to fight pirates with his lost boys and now as of picard he took wendy there as well
I really hope they can find a good excuse to let us see the rest of the LD characters in live action. It just can't end with that SNW episode
I swear that I saw an alien that looks like a Narn from Babylon 5 in the trailer.
Ship shaped like a Terran agonizer? Cool!
Aw C'mon Wil! Harry got promoted in Star Trek Online! You even got promoted to Emperor or something didn't you?
Thank you for showing a trailer for Discovery Season 5 at the end, which was already shown at NYCC a year ago. Don't you have anything new? And now the same trailer is shown again as a year ago. It's a bit sad.
It's not airing until next year, and the vast majority of us weren't at NYCC last year. Besides, the more trailers, the more they're libel to spoil.
