Reminder that no one likes you and you’ll never be as popular as the people you talk shit about
sparky can you still do some animation i just dont enjoy these videos because your camera is delayed
Drake vs Kendrick was so legendary it brought back the Ace vs Foolio beef and inspired Dr Disrespect to be a predator
Edit: Now Stephen A Smith is leaving the black community along with drake 😭
😭😭
Nigga you made me spit out my orange juice😭
What!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Comment of the WEEK! Congratulations 🎊🎉🍾😂💯
Vile!!! 😂😂
He said that nobody cared about Mr. Morale ? Bro that album was massive and also was Kendrick’s most successful tour to date
The beef even sparked additional interest in the album again.
Is it better than DAMN or TPAB OR GKMC tho? In Kendrick's standard its not that good. But for the general standard it's great.
@@blackowl9648With all due respect. Do you mean that because it has “no bops” to dance to? If so, not all musician has to be mindless fun or stuff like HUMBLE, Alright, i, etc. If not, what is it in your opinion?
@@blackowl9648I personally like mmatbs more than gkmc.
@blackowl9648 mr morale connected more with me
Cause I related more to it
It really depends on you the listener
Today’s age is still making hit music, but not hit artists.
U said it best
Check out Invent Animate, brodi
They're not big, but the underground scenes definitely have some hit artists
Also check out Doov extremely underrated
I remember when bro literally had under 10k subs, you've come a long way dude🙏🏾
That's love bro🙏🏽
Deadass how is Gen Z going to fight back lowering attention spans? Like if people can't stay for 2 minutes listening to a song thats mostly verses how cooked are we?
💯 💯 💯 💯
-👴
Social darwinism?
We just gotta hope that having a cooked attention span means you can't function in society, so people either learn to shape up or drop out.
I feel like most people listened to the whole song but some people have drake listening to Mr morale level comprehension which is lowkey not this generation that type of comprehension ability has been around since caveman days tbh
-👴
Most of the new generation of music lovers have low attention span, they take everything at face value, this is one of the reasons why kendrick said what he said during the beef with Drake....He makes music that electrifies his audience, while Drake does opposite.. Can't get much clearer than that...
I never would've expected Drake beef to pop off like this. But after the last one exposed blackface and a kid... the sky really is the limit
The killer mike slander made me realize that the current gen of hip hop and music listeners is cooked.
so true! im not from USA and i just love boom bap rap and hip hop in general, and the actual people carrying that torch, aint represented or celebrated much anymore.. sad!
Gen Z mainstream rap collectively is stuck in the Triple S lane “simple, short, sweet”.
Simple and short yes, it ain’t always sweet.
Add over saturated. There's a new rapper every week. I can keep up
@@PatrickscottYTMost new rappers are one hit wonders too instead of actually exploring their musical talent
In Tinashe's case, she's been an underrated artist that's been dropping bangers for the last 10 years
People don't just need to venture out more for rap music, I'd promote just steeping away from listening to rap music for periods of time. Different genres and perspectives on those genres will build better taste and a better attention span when listening to something out of the norm instead of just instantly writing it off.
Honestly hits come and go so fast now that people forgot what its like to have an enduring hit. Kendrick did the pop out show and was shooting the music video and loads of people are saying "this is getting corny" "he still riding that song". Like we forgot what its like to have a hit that lasts more than 2 weeks
I still play the Skateboard P outro in my head when your videos end
U a real one🥲 had to remove it for copyright unfortunately. I miss that outro
Even dead artists like xxxtentacion, juice wrld etc, slams these new artists with their 1 month relevancy 💀 (rip to these two who's music saved me back then)
In the early 00s Nas made an album called hip hop is dead. Fast forward to 2024 and we're still taking about how hip hop is gonna die. Lol. Admittedly the quality of the music is dog water and everything sounds the same but these are criticisms that were leveled when I was in my teens and 20s listening to 90s and 00s rap. So hey glad to see nothing has changed.
The thing about it with me is that we were complaining (not me, I had my favorites) in the 00’s about how “dead” rap was and THAT WAS THE BEAT ERA IN RAP MUSIC! Now all those people with their collective mantra “hip hop is dead” actually manifested this shit. You don’t know what you have till it’s gone…
Bro is definitely describing how hyped i also was during this whole beef ! The experience of living through this felt otherworldly to me!
4:02 what’s clear is the culture decided Drake lost. To this date he is 1-4 in battles, losing to the bald brigade of Common and Joe Budden follows by loses to the braided bros of Pusha T and now Kendrick. It is what it is.
My 70+ year old grandma and her 66 year old husband randomly say they not like us. I swear, I couldn’t believe it. They’re Bible Thumpers and think Hip-Hop is not real music. I always have to tell them that, as a musician/artist, all music is art. Explained Drill to them and how I personally use it as hype music, or to let off steam. They understood it in that aspect.
I’m the type to hear a catchy sound and check out their discography if I like more then I’m definitely gonna keep taps other than that it’s sad ppl nowadays don’t dig deeper but also bc of this I’ve been able to jump through genres and discover many good artist
Just 91 views on a SparkysThots video its just criminal
You deserve better man
This ones gonna be a slow cook but we’ll get there🫡 Thanks for the love
Ayy that boy uploaded
I don't think the beef ended in an anticlimactic way.
Not Like Us is BASICALLY the end of the beef, and its an amazing song that caps off an amazing arc.
Also, the pop out concert?
Fantastic.
He's right about music not meaning anything anymore. It's all about popularity and just making money.
One thing I've always noticed about hip hop is every time just right before a great shift is about to take place everyone always talks about "hip hop is dying" they said that around the time J.Cole Kendrick Lamar and Drake along with many others that we credit the continuation of hip hop to and they will keep saying that until the end of time, I really feel like the pendulum is finally swinging back to authenticity, People are caring about lyrics again, there's push back towards artists that are overly commercialized and talentless, the shift of the public opinion of drake is in a way a shift of the status quo, and just maybe, it might be a sign that the larger public is ready to return to something more genuine, artists that are actual people with talent, music that genuinely touches the soul and makes you feel, but Hey. That's just my view/hooe for the future.
It’s all about the “vibes” now. Who cares about the person actually being talented. We’re in an era where being a competent artist (rapper) is considered “doing too much” or “corny”. People don’t listen to music, they just play it.
Wow, spark!! I remember watching u when u were in the thousands. Now you've almost reached a 100k, nice work and great vid👏🐇🎀👌‼️
This beef is ushering in a new era. Those one hit wonders and mainstream trap artists were losing relevance before, but this finished the job.
I Love Your Channel & Videos
Cole choosing peace was the best move of the year 😂
That MtGs edit was crazy good 😭
When you hit 80k bro congrats remember when you hit 20k 😢
ngl hip hop needed this beef
2:01 nah, that Great Fairy theme remix over Meet The Grahams goes hard
Using he over-the-shoulder shot of introspective Ghandi from Clone High 😂😂
Incredible video, please continue with your ❤
bro say nobody gave a shit about mr morale yeah i out
Not saying that nobody cared. but compared to his past albums the hype kinda just went by
@@SPARKYSTHOTSim a huge Kendrick fan and you were right. The last album didnt hit nearly as much as Damn/M.A.A.D City, TPAB, or even Section 80
@@USFCpresidentcap
@@SPARKYSTHOTSthis is due to the album being more personal and less commercial than his previous works. No radio friendly hits.
@@cantthinkofagooduser4165he ain’t lying….ppl were even starting with the i miss the old kdot shii
Great commentary 👌🏾
The beef brought me here, but I find you a kindred spirit in perspective. Subbed.
The swallowing sounds behind a picture of Puff was wild gang
Sparky you make my hole tighten with every upload 😍😍
Wow
Pause
😂😂😂
I think we make too much out of most moments, we are prisoners of it. But some moments change history and a lot of times we don't see the results of it for years. I believe that this is going to change the face of hip-hop but only for the generation after the current one. In 3 to 5 years we'll hear the new generation that is inspired by Kendrick, they'll listen to him because of the beef and then listen to Mr. Morale. I have a lot of hope for the future.
Very well done. This isn't just hip hop but the state of music overall. Very well said!
another vid from the king!
16:00 The whole yards bro 😢
Your not a bad looking dude. Your thoughts are all valid.
As a fellow Knicks fan.....I hit the suscribe button. 😎🖖🏾🤘🏾✌🏾
"i hate living in the fukin hood"😂
Why was Gambino in the picture with the Cali artist? Isn’t he from Ga?
bro changed the meet the grahams beat with a zelda sample 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The fact that I knew he would say eventful☠️
Its mad how the same people who were jamming to Drake are now pretending like they dont want anything to do with him..... Let Kendrick enjoy the spotlight but remember that Drake will be giving you the hits to jam to once the dust settles.
Just like r kelly!😂
@@boni_slinger bro, Kendrick stood up for R Kelly’s music when threatened to take it down…. I like both Kendrick and Drakes music but both guys are questionable
Gotta say as someone who likes Splatoon and Kendrick I was surprised to recognize the Splatoon background music at 2:30
YOUUUU LOOK SOOOOO CUUTEE
I don't even like Killer Mike that much (the whole Rodney King 2 shit from 4 years ago and him on a stream saying nothing about the innocent people whose stores got robbed by the "peaceful" protestors make me stop listening to rap for a long while) but he doesn't deserve to get called ass. At all.
Don’t worry sparky ur gonna make it out one day trust 🗣️🗣️💪🏾💪🏾
I'm not from America, but I'm from the ghetto area of my country, and I have to say some of Kendrick's sentiment about Drake being an outsider really relates to me. From the telenovelas romanticizing living in the slums, glorifying gang culture then crying about violence they experience once they try it themselves it's really frustrating
Drake is/was great, he's popular, sensible (at least before) and good-looking but he really needs to stay on his lane... and uh, yeah stay away from kids too.
Imho Kendrick's songs used to be something I don't want to listen because of how direct it is, but now I can say I could tolerate some of his old songs, just that sometimes his songs feel like it's either slapping you in the face or making you face something you don't want to, especially his 2022 album. And I got a feeling he sort of inspired Gloc9 but I have to fact check that one
Pusha T WROTE the Book, on how to beat Drake and Kendrick, DEFINITELY took some queues.
Gambino is from Stone Mountain Georgia
I think our focus on trends is what’s killing entertainment. Instead of the dope artist who spent years perfecting their craft we will give anyone who gave us a catchy song and started 5 minutes ago a chance because the beat was catchy or were familiar with them. So based off that talent can never truly shine because we haven’t allowed it. And I think Drake and Kendrick def did that for the first time in a long time we heard dudes spitting actual bars and not the 123 abc stuff. Nothing is wrong with the 123abc however we’ve become so saturated with it we almost forgot what it sounds like for people to actually put effort and creativity into the art again
im from sweden, so im seperated from this beef pretty much.. only heard about it via youtube recently and have NOT heard the actual beef tracks.. but from a impartial outsiders view that just loves "boom bap, rap" drake has NEVER caught my ear.. but Kendrick has ALLWAYS caught it! from my PoV Kendrick is the winner, NO DOUBT.
Donald Glover from Atlanta lol
GRIPPY🗣️🔥
11:55 LMAOOOOOO 😂🫵
Lmfao this video made me laugh great story telling my man. Salute.
Nailed it
When we had to make an effort to buy music because we wanted to own a piece of art, people appreciated music more. Now it’s mostly free and easily consumable.
HOLY SHIT MARCEL ZAGO???!? I’ve finally found a youtuber that I align with #subscribed
16:33 is this the twilight princess hyrule field night theme
The Loz twilight edit is crazy
This is why I’m so proud to be a LONG TIME Kendrick fan, there’s no passion in music anymore. These kids aren’t poets, they aren’t fkn ARTISTS they’re entertainers, they have nothing to them. You can literally find the exactly same entertainer 10x over RIGHT NOW. Copy and paste ahh bs and it’s disappointing af 😢
Ain’t no way you playing they Splatoon lobby music i mean still a bop
For real like Abdullah next listen to the Drake diss 20 minutes after it came out and said he was late😮
Unless something changes, Drake vs Kendrick could become something of a finale for hip hop
(I don’t think it will, but it could be if we don’t get any more truly revolutionary artists)
This guy is cool and all he spat was gems.
There will be more competition in rap but it will be different . . . I think.
What do you think it will look like?
@@SweetieMs Honestly. . . . I have no idea but if it continues on this trajectory it's going to be weeird but beefs will make for some really really great party music.
@@spvc4696 I think VideoBro (I’m old af, so I’m just trying to stir up engagement on channels I don’t know) was saying that hip hop won’t have superstars that reach Kendrick and Aubrey levels. And that the current hip hop vibe is less competitive, and more friendly. So bc of those two factors, this is the last time we’ll see two top rappers battling: bc who will ever get this big, and if anyone does, do they have the pecans to fight each other on wax?
So I don’t disagree with you that competition will be different going forward, I just don’t know what it will look like since I grew up in a hip hop that would “fight” coworkers,, and I can’t imagine that really happening, with talent, in the future
@@SweetieMs Nah I actually agree; people will most likely avoid beef or beef will just be fabricated wihtin the industry 100% for the entirety of the industry.
But then there will be those RARE rap beefs , at least one. . . . But I doubt it will be as lyrical as past beefs *maybe* future rappers can prove me wrong but meh .. . . . we'll need to see it.
@@spvc4696 What if we only give real support to the ones that make art we can connect to? 😉
The problem with rap is Drake.
I never wanted to break the like button in a video before...until now.
my personal big 3 Khary, Aaron May, and YTK (honorable mention: ARDN)
8:28 I agree! I can’t listen to anymore drake songs after the beef.
Nowadays music is not good it's just catchy
New Banger alert
i just want more songs from both of em
Pause has been the appropriate substitute.
10:02 ayo whats maamukoya doin here( good Malayalam movie reference)
ok ok I hear you on the 2020 rappers but ive been listening to Coi leray since lil huddy, shes been popular. BUT I do admit that internet/tiktok constant boost attitude has made people do less for more, even my girl Coi
yo what's the meet the grahams mashup i need that 🙏🙏🙏
2024 is JUICY! Thats the word for it....from Kat Williams interview to the Diddy allegations to the Kdot- Drake rap beef.....JUICY I say!😃
Yktv Knicks coming back, we had 4/5 starters hurt gang and now Bridges, we OUTSIDE this season.
This is why I only listen to Christian rap. It hasn't been corrupted by commercialization. It's not TikTok music. It also matches my values and doesn't say things I would never repeat at work or in front of my kids.
Gambino not from Cali he’s from Stone Mountain Georgia
I still need a full explanation on why people thought this was going to be a friendly competition beef.
Because the more honest artist involved said that in a song. His real fans laughed at the lie, real hip hop fans laughed at the lie, but that’s a small group compared to those who didn’t know that this would turn into a Biblical smiting 😂
1:19 no one thought that😂😂😂
Face reveal Yay
tommy richman has better songs than MDB. hope he gets out of the cycle with a genuine career.
Lowkey, when you were talking about how we don’t consume music how we used to and don’t have the same connections to music we used to I was just thinking, “yo capitalism fucks up art to the point we can’t even have good rap beefs anymore!”
Kendrick smoked Drake like ribs at a family BBQ. I also gotta say, i know Travis Scott really messed up at the Astro World concert. And he's apparently not a nice person. It's all from what i have read online. Man, does he have some good jams though. I've recently started listening to more of his music. So far, all bangers in my opinion. Just bringing him up because i dont think he's fallen off at all.
100 💯 true bro a fact speaker hip hop dead
Listen to Kendrick’s BET cypher if you think they were “cool”
Why is gambino in the pic for artists out of california hes from atl 😭 he was only born in cali, doesnt even claim it at all (if this is bait i fell for it)
Bro looks like a Prince Von.. the long distance brother of King Von.
