Would you prefer shooting Minolta over other cameras? I just posted a video of shooting this camera with ektar 100 please heck it out and tell me what you think! I love your videos btw!!
Your English is still better than many native born Americans! I just picked up one of these real cheap, and I have a few different lenses that it can use, can't wait to try it out!
Nice informative video with one detail that was not fully correct. The "second" ON setting (the one with sound) is to let you know when your shutter speed goes below 1/60th of a second when you are on aperture priority. That is what happens on my Minolta X-570 which is very similar model to X-700 so I guess the purpose of the sound is the same on both of those superb cameras.
sorry i´m replying only now. I don´t actually know right now haha. but i think it beeps (when it´s too dark) in normal on mode aswell. i don´t have a x-570 though.
I just gave my x-700 and a couple of lenses to a friend and I sent her a link to your video as an introduction. I always liked the x-570 (US model #) because it has the metered manual setting, so the 700 was just gathering dust and it's too god a camera to leave on a shelf. Excellent video! thanks for sharing.
Thank you for sharing my video with your friend. I´ve never owned an x570 (or x500) but I'm always seeing positive feedback on it. As my collection grows, I'm looking forward getting and using one in the future. Hello to your friend btw! -Daniel
Thanks for the video. It was pleasure to watch it. Can you tell me something about the lightmeter? Is there a scale in the viewfinder? I am a totaly new in this stuff and planning to buy something like this for start but I sure need a lighmeter for start. :)
Cool !A client gave me a x700 in mint condition and a xg7 with all the accessories and a bunch of lenses . In the cases.and I sure could use some help learning how to use the camera. Thanks for the videos.
Comment on build quality and ergonomics, how accurate the metering is, features that you found especially useful, or features that were poorly implemented.
+thesmoothone I never had problems with a stuck lever on my x-700. I your x-700 is troubleshooting you should try changing the batteries and making sure the camera is on. If that doesn't solve your problem, see if the rewind button on the bottom of the camera is stuck. Hope i could help. -Daniel
Hello I have a few questions I got one passed down by my father and I would love to use it though I don't know what film to use and what batteries to get can someone help me >.< what is recommend for this camera ?
Yes, that doesn´t matter. the 35mm describes the size of the film. and the 200 or 400 the so called "iso" or "asa". Search for "what is iso" on youtube, there should be a video describing it, if you happen to watch a video where someone uses a digital camera as a exapmle, just keep in mind that you cannot change the iso on a Film, but that you have to stick with the iso that your film has. PS: you need to put the wheel on the upper-left corner (when pointing the lens side away from you. ) to the iso that you are using.
Thank you for your comment! I love my x-700, it was my second ever (analogue) SLR and I still use it. Literally, the same one I got years back, while a lot of cameras broke on me, this beast never even failed on me once. But quite obvious you need the right lenses.
Your English is fine. I have the slightly later introduced X500 (X570 in the USA) and they were the last and most advanced manual focus Minolta SLRs. Used with Minolta PX flash it also has TTL flash metering. I think they are both very underrated cameras.
Hello, nice video. From your accent, I am guessing that you are german.

Thank you very much!
I hope you´ll enjoy it!
What Lenses do you have if i may ask?
The square box on the back is the film speed mini reference guide according to the film you have, and is used the way you're using it.

Un aparat superb, poate printre cele mai bune!Manual focus!
Great video. It's more of a user guide than a review but your presentation was good and you speak English very well!
thank you very much! Well, i´m still learning, what would you say is missing to make it a review?
Comment on build quality and ergonomics, how accurate the metering is, features that you found especially useful, or features that were poorly implemented.
Thank you for such a detailed review. x-700 is a lovely one.
+Six Sigma thank you :) yes it is!
very nice review, thanks for sharing!

Hello I have a few questions I got one passed down by my father and I would love to use it though I don't know what film to use and what batteries to get can someone help me >.< what is recommend for this camera ?
you can use every normal 35mm film and two lr44 batteries :)
+Daniel Melzer Photography and can it be 400 or 200 I see a lot that people use 200 35mm film or can the 400 35mm film be okay as well ?
Yes, that doesn´t matter. the 35mm describes the size of the film. and the 200 or 400 the so called "iso" or "asa".
