1970 AMC Rebel Machine Burnout

When you beat one of the so called mainstream muscle cars with an AMC, you experience what we called at the time the Glow factor, that warm feeling because you know they are pissed. I owned a 1967 Rambler American with a Javelin transplanted drivetrain. It was a 343 four speed with a 3.54 rear axle. My best friends helped with the installation. Then they replaced the cam shaved the heads a set of headers and a Edelbrock intake with a 650 dual line double pumper Holly carb. It had really bad wheel hop, so we installed a set of Lakewood slapper traction bars and a set of air shocks. G 6014 rear tires and F7014 front tires. It ran pretty damn good for what it was and surprised quite a few out there on the streets. Miss those days.

I built this one over a decade - a lot of parts swapping and trial and error. Aired down shocks cured wheel hop.Stock 390 .30 over w/Crane Cam. Stock ignition w/ spring kit. Quick Fuel Brawler 770 w/heat shield . No wrenching , runs smooth - doesn't break.
