  • Brief video description on how to remove the amber colored covers to reveal the blue lights (that look more like McIntosh colored blue lights) instead of the old dated amber look because that's ugly. And I'm not sure why I called it a CR 777 in the video....ugggh... I was too busy thinking about how I was going to film this video on a whim, so sorry for the confusion!! It's a GGGGGGGGggggg ARRRRRRREEEE 777. :) Have fun out there playing with audio!!!

Bought this EQ brand new in 1995 with remote control still works.

Good to know!!! Mine works well every day (with remote) and bought it used about 10 years ago. I fear that the main power ON/OFF switch will give out on me one day, because I press it it at least once a day to turn it on... So that's pressing that button ALOT each year and it's bound to wear out one day. I tried using a power strip to power it ON/OFF but the EQ loses it's memory for the EQ settings... Need to find another one just for backup because it's an INCREDIBLE Equalizer!!!

@@getfrog I understand what you mean pioneer did a bad job on that they should have a standby option in the remote, only thing you can do is look for same kind of switch on aliexpress and buy 10 of them 😁 and keep changing them every 3 months if they go bad.

Goodnight! I had doubts about the colors of this pioneer, some videos amber, others blue and I couldn't find the answer...until now! For your video to be perfect I missed the step-by-step recording as you did the process to remove the amber film :) But very good anyway!

Saludos

Gracias! :) It is a possibility yes, if you wish.
Spanish to English translation: When removing the orange foil, I notice that the blue takes on an annoying glow. I think you would need to replace the sheet with a transparent one. But don't leave her without her. It seems to me that a solution is to put a slightly dark shade of car glass tinting film so that the lights are clear. Greetings

Thank you for this video. I would be interested in buying the amber filters if you don't need them :)

Does this work with other Pioneer equipment with the amber lights? (CD players, etc.)

I honestly do not know... I would say there is a high chance if there is a meter type application but for typical buttons and knobs, I doubt it would be blue behind those. I suspect that the spectrum analyzer type meters are the ones that are blue with amber covers. Hope that helps!

@@getfrog Thanks for the quick response. I notice in this video: ua-cam.com/video/CUhiCRRmIaM/v-deo.html
They seemed to have removed the amber panel as well in this CD player as well, and I'm just wondering if Pioneer built all these components similarly. . I'm curious as to the different colors (loaded disc) as well. Thanks again.

@@dmrheault YES INDEED!!! That is a LCD display like the EQ display. So yes I bet you anything there was an amber lens they removed. That will probably be ab easier job than the EQ so go for it!! :)

Yes. Vacuum display emit blue lights. To change the color, filters are used to fit the desired colour.
