Nick had that guitar since we were kids.he got it from his father Michael*I was a very close family friend to Nick and his entire family and at times we lived together.
There's pics of him with a Squier 51 with a white pickguard. Do you remember if it was a Fender or a Squier? I hate I never got to see him play live, but these videos are amazing!
me and my buddies were so fortunate to see Nick play live in Philly both with the Thunderbirds and the incredible Lowlifes. He was a significant talent taken away way too soon. He could make a freakin ukulele scream!
There's no way to verify, but I think it's a Squire he modified. There's pics of Nick with a Squier with a white pickguard that matched the front white pickup. Notice that when they come with the black pickguard they also have a black pickup. He modified the Gretsch Pro Jet quite a bit, too! He could have removed they rear pickup and installed the telecaster assembly.
Great stuff. And yeah, seems like he plays around Austin a lot. What is that guitar ? Looks like a flat Strat body with Tele hardware and neck, a Strat single coil at the neck and Tele single coil on the bridge. Rowdy sound. But he could probably do that and sound that good on any of my cheap guitars.

It was a custom shop model, not a Squier. Note the real Tele bridge and bridge pickup. Nick had that guitar at least as far back as 2006.
