Nice one 👍🏻. When doing these, how to you fix the tiny end cuts and stop the from sliding out? As quite often you can’t hook them over the batton as the batton doesn’t extend out onto the valley tray.
I am assuming you are talking about the tiles. Sometimes I use a little bit of silicone on the joint but it is difficult sometimes. You can put something to pack them up if they sag or if they are too small sometimes you just have to leave it out. Just remember to remove the packers afterwards. Hope that helps
I’ve just had my valleys done like this by a professional but I’m worried that during hard stormy rain, the water will flow over the valleys on the side? Surely at the bottom end of the valley large water flow will do that? What’s your experience with that ?
There is a product called “valley seal” which can be applied on the edges of the valley iron and the tiles go on top of it. It stops debis, water and animals getting between the tiles and the valley iron.
what is the name of a flashing, what kind of material is it, that is placed near the top of the ridge, near the opening of the valley, it covers the roof tiles(not the ridge tiles), where the opening exists, and appears to go , into the valley as well... ?
i have seen it, applied to the whirly bird, opening, ... around where it was installed... you meant Wakaflex ? i take this goes to the top of that gutter the metal one.. to waterproof it... the beginning that is... is that how its done? From what i could see, it was covering the tip of an inverted V, (top of the roof, with 2 descending sides) begining on one side, and going to the other side..
@@dennisperrie if you hadn't cut the top of the gutter, and slided the third part of the gutter under that cut portion, is this the product that you would use to do the whole gutter? i mean , if you had removed the ridge caps at the top, and instead of cutting the top, if you had replaced the full gutter, would you have used this product going to the top of the gutteR?
Great video, better than most thanks.
Thank you Fix It, your vedio and reply about the valley is the most useful!
Well that was as simple as i was hoping it would be.. Cheers big ears, i appreciate it..

Thanks Mate... great instructions
Thank you great vid also the valley that's going into the gutter is that too much and should it be cut back incase water flows over?
You learn me alot

Any tips for blocking leaves entering between the tile and valley sheet?
Nice work. Where can I get galvanized or aluminum replacement?
You can get them from hardware stores like Bunnings or there will be wholesalers near you. Just google gutter suppliers

I wonder if need to seal the gap between tiles and valley, in case no rats could enter the attic.

No because the water run off is so fast it gets away. The biggest problem valleys have is when the get clogged with debris
