@@Annie-ui5nm There are some on Ebay. Hurry up, my battery has just gone really bad (less than a day charge) and I bet a lot of people are about to be in the same situation so stock might dry up.
This video is misleading.. they dont tell you how much the battery is adhered to the phone with prying it out.. while prying old battery blew up in my hand. Luckily no damage to me or phone. Battery is very fragile. And also the tape they have in video is NOT the original tape in phone is tamper proof so they know if phone was replaced battery..
I second that. I got some initial spartking when I tried prying by the power cable and some more sparks and smoke as it managed to pry the battery out. But it never went critical. What is so stupid is that the interior cover is molded so it looks like the battery or battery cover will just lift off. I doubt it makes much difference to the water resistance,
Absolutely, these are two very important points to note before attempting this repair. the battery is very tightly taped to the phone. Still, proceeding like the guy in the video but applying a lot of strength, I was able to lift the same corner a bit. Then, I drove a small flat tool beneath the battery under the whole surface. There are two large pieces of tape there that you want to run through. Then, about the tape: It was impossible for me to remove it cleanly. You just end up with the tape part removed, but the conductive layer still adheres to the battery and the connectors on the other side, and is very fragile. I think this tape is here to provide a grounding connection between the battery and the rest of the phone. So it's really important to replace it with standard conductive grounding tape. Also, make sure that you don't leave any flake of this conductive material free to move inside the phone, or it might fry at some point.
Hi! I haven't been able to unscrew my Moto G4 (even with the right Torx screwdriver). The screws simply won't turn. Is there anything I should do first? Thank you in advance!
I'm also having the same problem on 6 of the 19 screws. The 6 that I can't remove are the ones above the camera and the screws to the right of the camera..
@Rick Mathes I got this kit off amazon. Worked well. The drivers that come with the battery don't fit.www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076M6NBWB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It's fuckin' microsurgery... I miss the phone designs where the batteries just took a few seconds to replace and you would keep a couple of spares with you for long flights... I ended up destroying the battery connector when removing the dead battery... The wires came out of the connector which stayed in the socket... Eventually, I got the connector shell out of the socket and the new battery installed, but I definitely was not a happy camper by the end of it...
In my moto G4 plus inside the front camera have dust don't know how and now i can't take selfie becoz it's look blur plz help me...How can i remove the dust from front camera 😞😞
G4 is an OK phone for the money but if this is how to change the battery then that is a total joke. Once upon a time I had a Nokia phone and two batteries I could swap the flat battery out in 10 seconds no special tools, no fuss. What a massive design oversight. How could anyone make such an elementary mistake as the battery housing as this is. Very disappointing. To cap it all Motorola have released more phones with the name G4 which have different shape batteries. I do not suppose they would have the brains to think up a different name for a totally different phone.
I don't think for one minute this is a design oversight, it's blatently deliberate, no other phone I have ever come across has such an intricate method to replace a battery, should be a perfectly simple process, so no, it's intended, no question
Blame it on the fuckin' idiot "engineers" at Apple... I think they were the first to start doing it this way... They got away with it (i.e. idiots still bought their crap), so the other manufacturers figured they could go with crap designs also...
Bloody Hell; if it's that much of an arse ache to change a battery, I'll just fork out for a new (non Moto) phone. Thanks a bunch Lenovo for encouraging people to fuck up the planet by not putting in swappable batteries!
ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME? ^^^ No. 1 reason to never buy this phone again^^^. Wtf. 19 screws, tape. Omg. THROWING IT OUT. It keeps snapping off while in use. 1 yr. old. Time for a new phone AND NOT THIS ONE. MOTOROLA AND LENOVO WAKE UP. Why? Why? Why?
its a 5 min job that anyone remotely manually competent and with half a clue can perform.....that obviously rules you out.......excellent video...and excellent phone
Why-So Motorola and Lenovo get u to buy a new phone and hopefully theirs. I saw this integrated battery as a problem when I first bought the phone and now it needs a new battery after 3+ years so I'll try phone surgery. This built in battery is what iPhone has been doing for years, though, and people keep buying them so from a business stand point this was a good move but the consumer (me) is upset by it.
I needed to do a factory reset, could not find correct information online. Was going to change the battery. Now I'm throwing the phone in the garbage. F M L

I just started and after getting 6 screws out, the 7th broke the screwdriver tip and none of the other came out. Destroy their heads and throw away an otherwise perfect phone.
This tutorial literally just saved me hundreds of dollars. Thank you. You made the whole process very easy.

LOL! Yeah. Or a lottery ticket scratcher.
Hello and thanks for this video! Is Moto G4 Plus Battery (GA40) compatible to the Moto G4? Thanks!

Great instructions! Have my battery replaced and now everything works fine again👍👍
Where did you find a Moto 4G battery replacement? I can't find one anywhere.

So, the link provided in the description doesn't have ANYTHING in this video. No tools, no battery. Not a good sales pitch.
Looks easy enough.

It's not a design mistake. It's intentionally complicated so normal people will just buy a new phone.
@@wavion2 Course and going forward this will be in the top 3 concerns before buying another phone, can a regular person maintain this POS?
