Wait so you can't just import it to blender immediately without using beamNG? I'm planing to buy automation just to make car edits in blender, but if i gotta buy beamNG aswel then I will not buy automation. Or do you know other programs to model cars and import it to blender? (blender is a pain in the a** to model cars)
I bet there is a way but this just maybe makes finding the file easier. you can find your car file you made in automation. So you must be able to import it to blender. Blender is just hard and has a big learning curve but it is a good tool when you know what you are doing ( big guess as I don't know blender that well) you can also get cars from the work shops so I also wonder if them cars are also easier to find and import into blender. also you can get a mod for blender for automation I believe. let me know how it goes, if you find it hard I can maybe have a look into and then make you a video on how to do it
@@manicgamingguy6161 i've looked but have not found anything. The problem is with automation (i'm new to it) and i don't know in what files i can save the automation-car, i know how to use blender. The only file format i found is file.car, which you can only use in beamNG i assume
If you want help fast you can also join some discords. I have one and I am apart solo_apllos who knows a lot bout automation. you use blender to make cars for automation so it must be a thing
@@humanplace1962 no you dont need beamng i dont have beamng and you can just press export car and the folder icon then it will take you to a folder where you have your zip file it will also give a message like beamng folder couldnt be found file saved in *folder*
@@vicktorviggo2097 but the mesh is all messed up. Like the car is already model-ed wich means you can not change the model (way more complicated)? Also the colors and mesh data are all gone? So it kind of works but has still alot of work
I was curious if you have a way to get the materials to show in Blender so I don't have to look at names and so I might be able to edit them in Blender for better appearance IN Beam
I got fed up with this too. I spoke to fillman about it. I believe he said that you can change the colour in blender but it will still export the old colours,.. I didn't go into detail about it with him but maybe some test goes at it and you can work it out from there. but as I know of you can not see the right texture. good luck my friend
you can get mods that people have made in automation from the steam workshop. So just a guess but I think you can. it will be on the automation page. it is some thing I will look into my self one day for sure.
ive been trying to figure out how to make trims/configs for a single automation car instead of having several seperated vehicles, but i started to realize i need to get way mroe tecnical than i thought to do it, you have any tips on that?
yea it is a lot of work, to much time for me to learn at this stage. I thik there is a playlist out there but it is some thing like 20 odd videos. but he does give you a template car to get started.
