During a visit to the SUN museum, Tim Neal sat at Jerry Lee Lewis' piano and pricked up the ears of the studio engineer who invited the band to record in this unique institution.
The tracks were laid down live, almost all in a single take. Inspired by the history of this hallowed studio that seeded so many pivotal careers - Howlin' Wolf, B.B.King, Bonnie Raitt, Elvis and more, - the band knocked out twelve songs in five short hours. These included some chosen in reverence to that heritage, songs they’d never played before, as well as a stack of originals, all showcasing the band’s fire, virtuosity and co-created improvisation.
