Gordon Ramsay can't even make a grilled cheese. Or Ramen according to Uncle Roger.
Next idea should be what sorter stuff best goes with Yorkshire puddings
A favourite sandwich from my childhood was Vegemite and Coco-Pops/Cocoa-Puffs. It was better with a crusty bread roll but white sandwich bread would do in a pinch. I have no idea why but I am Australian which means I'm not quite right in the head by default.
I bought bread from a man from Brussels.
He was 6ft 4" and full of muscles.
I asked if he Spoke 'A' my language.
He Smiled and gave me his Vegemite Sandwich.
Do you come from the Land down under.
Where women glow and men chunder.
Can't you Hear the Thunder???
*Sorry dude could not resist*
When I was a kid I would have ketchup, sugar and crisps sandwiches
In the states we enjoy a fabulous sando comprised of leftovers from Thanksgiving dinner.
I recommend at least turkey, cornbread stuffing, cranberry sauce and gravy, but your sando is only limited by last night’s spread
I have a question, is toasting the bread not a thing back in the 70s in Britain?
You toast the bread when you're going to dump a can of soggy baked beans all over it.
@@zhiracs Or cheese. Or cheese and Worcester sauce. Or cheese and beans. Or....you get the idea.
Sure, but it depends what you're having on it. And how fresh the bread is. We didn't have a toaster when I was growing up in England in the 70s so toast had to be grilled in the cooker.
I'm going to tell my kids this is Jimmy Savile
I’m shocked to see James may doesn’t know the easier way to open the banana is by the other end. Feel like he would be mind blown by the simplicity
He tried both ends and failed at both ends.
Theres a swedish variety of this called Flygande Jakob. A combo of peanuts, banana, chicken + bacon all combined with a creamy mild curry sauce.
Loads of different ways to combine it. With rice, on pizza, with chips, roasted potatoes or indeed a sandwich.
Highly recommended.
You don't put eggs in the fridge but you do put a banana in there? Come on, May!
Yeah. Banana's last longer in the fridge. And we're advised by our version of the FDA to keep eggs unrefrigerated
Marmite and scrambled egg sandwich made with bread toasted on one side (outer side). Lovely. Try it.
I think they need to try the divine Hummus, Cream Cheese and Marmite Sandwich.
does this work if the bread is toasted ?
@@clockwork9827 not tried it.
That sounds exquisite!
I can't help wondering if it would work better with Feta?
a coffee scroll bun with icing and coconut on top is cut open and buttered , then turned inside out so the outsides are put together . and toasted in a sandwich toaster its apparently very tasty.
3rd attempt at asking
Please do a *Greek Cypriot toasted sandwich:*

Sau Rupee, a cultured man.
Whole-wheat multi-grain sliced bread (slightly toasted), layer of tomato and/or onion (should do both), layer of whole tinned sardines, drizzle malt vinegar over the fish.
"slightly odd sandwich"?
Up yours, James May.
Cold sliced turkey, jam, tomato and lettuce on 2 slices of toast...
I made it once and now I eat it most days after training and its really nice actually
Turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce and cream cheese! That’s one of my favorites.
suggestion for Tribers' Sandos - egg bagel with everything seeds, 2 eggs (I prefer scrambled), sausage patty, hash brown patty (very lightly salted) and either scallion or strawberry cream cheese. if you want it slightly sweeter use the strawberry.
The key to this sandwich is, once assembled, to fry it in the rendered bacon fat and serve warm. Also use a ripened banana so it will be sufficiently sweet and mushy. The juxtaposition of mushy banana, crispy bacon, smooth peanut butter, and crunchy bread creates a glorious amalgamation of heterogeneity. Honey optional.
Great episode!
Salt & vinegar crisps, soft cheese, chives and a little chilli sauce 👌🏽
Chaource cheese, highly recommended.
what about toast with lurpak and just some hot chocolate powder sensibly thick sprinkled on? (do avoid to sneeze) a pinch of cinnamon may be added during winter season...
As noted below - this is the sandwich which killed Elvis. Or contributed to his death somewhat. Except his were fried in butter.
At Gracelands you could buy a cookbook of Elvis' favourite recipes called Are You Hungry Tonight!
Cottage cheese/mint chutney/ museli sandwich try it sir james may
Never put bananas in the fridge. They go black. On another point, "too much" and "bacon" are mutually exclusive
Golden syrup sandwich , my granny always used to make me them growing up and can alternatively be eaten on toasted bread
I’m going to guess that Lucy Brown complains the most at the Drivetribe/Foodtribe offices and Mike is a close second
My fav sandwich is tesco wafer thin ham, peanut butter and crisps of your choice (my favorites are either salt and vinigar or smokey bacon)
The banana was not even ripe 🤣😂
And stored in the fridge. 😁
Yes it was, it wasn't green in any way.
@@dennett316 Bananas aren't fully ripe til they develop a few freckles.
Sandwich ham, dairylea cheese slices and salt n vinager square crisps with mayo to hold the crisps in place. Best Sandwich Ever!!
James may was always my idol, but now when Ive seen him open a banana from the WRONG side, my life will sadly change.
Oi! where are the new bug out bunker videos?? I am addicted and need new episodes! Awsome work Sir James! Keep it up. ps, Lucy rocks!
I just realised that even French people have feelings. So i'd like to apologise to Lucy for being horrible.
Because Lucy Brown is a typical French name.
3:51 "i can rely on one of you to be a bit weird"
Lolololololololo😂
The Monte Christo. Two slices of French toast, grape or strawberry jam, and a slice of ham-steak, coated in powdered sugar. There are a few ways of doing it, but this one is my favorite
Great video as always Cpt. Slow, if I can make a suggestion for your next sandwich, do a Toast sandwich. Best regards to all of you.
Leave out the bacon and the lurpack and have it open faced and you get childhood heaven
Try and get a seasoning called Aromat (I think Tesco stocks it) and make the following Sandwich:
- Mayo
- Ham
- Scrambled Egg (or rather a small egg omelette)
- Red onion
- Cheddar
- Season with Aromat
A nice breakfast sandwich, 2 slices of eggy bread (a dash of soy sauce and a sprinkling of herbs wen mixing the eggs) a couple bits of bacon, sausage, sliced and fried tomato.
I'd suggest toasting the bread and employing some maple flavor somewhere on the 2.0 version of this sando! That would probably give it the American-style breakfast taste that would make it much more appetizing.
make a sandwich with only Parsley(make sure u use enough to get a nice crisp bite) and ketchup. used to eat that as a kid, was actually a favourite of mine.
A full English breakfast sandwich. Toast as the bread, with bacon, sausage, fried egg, tomato, mushrooms, and baked beans.
