OMG this is bringing back so many good memories!!! My husband and I used to go sledding every weekend for many years. I tried running 6 dogs but felt more comfortable running 4. My husband run 8 dogs once but he mostly ran 6.
well done video. I especially liked this one since it shows the sled dogs. I have 11 dogs. I do a few races but mostly wilderness camping trips. One of my puppies watched the video with me. Sitting on my lap and talking to the dogs in the video.

I'm just glad to be alive almost died on trail last week way out in the bush got swarmed by yellow jackets went into anaphylactic shock 5 miles from my car and a 10 mile drive out to meet an ambulance... Never had a reaction before but my bo was 61/43 when I got help and was so swollen cheers to being above ground!!!
I am surprised that she didn't instruct you on how to make your turns. It's like riding a motorcycle....when the dogs are turning right, you lean to your left. We had a friend of ours take out 4 of our dogs but he forgot this and ended up flipping over, but he flipped the sled upright and the next time a turn came up, he remembered. The look of happiness and satisfaction was a joy to us both.

I owned two Hybrids wolves, “Duke”was half German Shepherd & Minnesota Timber wolf, aka (Gray wolf)(125lbs.)also black mouth, and “Baby”, Siberian Husky, & Arctic wolf (165lbs.)Pure white, black mouth. Beautiful animals, I never heard either of them bark like a domestic dog. They were fond of digging their cave under my giant white pine in my backyard. Thanks for supplying the video. It was great as usual, although it was a long time coming. Hoping it was because you were busy filming another adventure in the outback with no upload available.. My favorite part was listening to all the dogs barking in anticipation as you hooked up the sleds then when you left and they were not going they all started crying.. It was so moving..
Good job on the filming Jim, and keeping the camera from getting knocked off by tree branches on a few what looked like close calls and excellent drone shots. A lot of work to feed all the dogs in the kennels, as you went by the kennels you could see and hear the envy the dogs not pulling but still on the kennel chains.

Haha, ya she’s French Canadian so that’s her accent when she speaks English. Was away on a month long canoe trip so I guess it’s going to be that footage all fall and winter.

Did these dogs bond to you like other domesticated dogs? How long did they live? Would you do again? I always wanted to do what you did. I am in Minnesota and love wolves. My closest is my eight month old alpha female Pyrenees’s/Newfie that has been a challenge yet finally coming around. Never trained a dog from eight weeks old on. Usually I bond only for the first 4-6 months then begin the real training. Used to Collies which are very dedicated, intelligent spirits! 125-165 is a lot of power! You must be good! Take care!
@@jayheinrich5207 I was the pack leader or ALPHA MALE, Duke was 2nd, and of course Baby was 3rd. It’s funny why baby was so big and heavy is because whatever Duke didn’t eat Baby would be waiting with his chops all watering! Lol! I never trained them like domesticated dog’s, of course behaving in the house when they’re allowed in, no eating the cat that was a early on rule when they were pups lol. I had a 6’ 1/2” brick wall and whenever a lineman would need access to the pole he would just jump on the wall without permission, we’ll that ended when my Timberwolf (Duke) jumped up onto the brick wall stood there and just stared at the worker. He was so agile when he leaped up. “The woman that raises wolves whom I got Duke from told me to beware, because wolves have the natural ability to leap from a standstill position, and when running expect an even higher leaping clearance.” I imagine Duke could’ve cleared 7 1/2 ft. easy. (Both of my boys stood a little higher then head to head with me while on their hind legs. I’m 5’9”.🐺🐺 Man the battles they had against coyote packs was epic, I’m from the desert 🏜 (Antelope Valley), at that time mid 90’s coyotes were rampant also mountain Lion. But yeah I’ll just say there wasn’t a big enough coyote pack to have my boys as a meal. In fact they didn’t allow those little guys in sight range to their den, hole under our giant white pine. I felt sorry for a few of the coyotes as my boys left them crippled I suppose as an example to the rest who weren’t dead. So as the Alpha I finished them off (Humanly and quick) it was paramount that the boys watch as I partook in their ritual “of territory disputes”. “It really wasn’t ok but nature has its battles and my boys don’t sit backseat to no one.” But yeah no meant no, and yes, yes. Pretty simple. They lived a good life, beings they got pulled back and forth in their genetic balance of wolf vs. Domestic dog. It was evident the boys catered to their wild side.~ML&Aloha Your Boy Kekoa&Ohana. 🤙🏾🐺🐺💪🏾
Surprised they handled the temps yet maybe you were high enough. Sounds like a great adventure. My favorite camping spot in the middle of the BWCAW had a pack that sang to me quite often. Awesome, I actually did get a few pointers before hand and took some corners pretty quickly! I found it to be somewhat similar to skiiing

I had a 6’ 1/2” brick wall and whenever a lineman would need access to the pole he would just jump on the wall without permission, we’ll that ended when my Timberwolf (Duke) jumped up onto the brick wall stood there and just stared at the worker. He was so agile when he leaped up. “The woman that raises wolves whom I got Duke from told me to beware, because wolves have the natural ability to leap from a standstill position, and when running expect an even higher leaping clearance.” I imagine Duke could’ve cleared 7 1/2 ft. easy. (Both of my boys stood a little higher then head to head with me while on their hind legs. I’m 5’9”.🐺🐺 Man the battles they had against coyote packs was epic, I’m from the desert 🏜 (Antelope Valley), at that time mid 90’s coyotes were rampant also mountain Lion. But yeah I’ll just say there wasn’t a big enough coyote pack to have my boys as a meal. In fact they didn’t allow those little guys in sight range to their den, hole under our giant white pine. I felt sorry for a few of the coyotes as my boys left them crippled I suppose as an example to the rest who weren’t dead. So as the Alpha I finished them off (Humanly and quick) it was paramount that the boys watch as I partook in their ritual “of territory disputes”. “It really wasn’t ok but nature has its battles and my boys don’t sit backseat to no one.” But yeah no meant no, and yes, yes. Pretty simple. They lived a good life, beings they got pulled back and forth in their genetic balance of wolf vs. Domestic dog. Surprised they handled the temps yet maybe you were high enough. Sounds like a great adventure. My favorite camping spot in the middle of the BWCAW had a pack that sang to me quite often.
