You can't get more detailed about how to us this RUV. I'm new to this and I really appreciate this video.
Thor needs to sacrifice the bottom drawers under the refrigerator so that you can put a freezer there. Please make the refrigerator and ac a 12volt system.
You’re the best of all the people I’ve seen on youtube doing these type of videos. You’re very detailed, and I learned a lot about our new Compass that will be delivered next month from another location. Thanks for doing a good job on the video.
I love my thor
Was thinking about a class C but this would work better for me. Very nice will be looking for one of these in about 2 to 3 months at my local dealer in Lancaster Ca. Thanks for the video and info, Mike
Gals to see this, posted a couple of days ago. Tomorrow we pick up the Thor Gemini and Pt St Lucie and this is great info to have. The session tomorrow will run 2-3 hrs at La Messa. This video goes in order and shows the most important things to know before driving off into the sunset. Thank you Thor.
Thanks for writing Greg. Enjoy your Gemini and travel safely. - Steve
Boy if I have any questions on my thor I would call u . Awesome thank u
Really great informative video. Actually gave me a lot more confidence with my recent purchase because it's pretty thorough. Thank you!
That was very good and informative, I know more about the Coach than my Car I drive daily for 2 years and still discover things I don't know.
Thanks for the feedback David, I appreciate it. - Steve
Absolutely wonderful walk thru! Thank you!
Thank you for the feedback and thanks for watching. - Steve
Best video ever, thanks 🙏🏻 for taking the time to show us how to do things..
Hi Omar. Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment, we appreciate it. - Steve
Thanks great complete info and tour.
THANKS! Would love an updated version for 2024!
What an awesome video & teacher! Step by step taking us to the RUV with the details, specially for me (no knowledge of RUV but with the interest of having one). Love the TW floorplan. One question, what is the difference between the Compass and the Gemini? I have looked on the internet and I can't find the difference. Thank you so much for taking the time to show us that excellent RUV! 👍🏼👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you Mabel. The only items that differentiate the Compass and Gemini are the interior and exterior color choices. Feel free to reach out and ask if you have any other questions. Thanks - Steve
Helpful.
Steve I wish you could come do a personal training session with me on my (soon to be) Thor Vegas RUV! You are the best out there!!
Thanks Camille, I appreciate it. Feel free to ask any questions you have and I'll help you out. Have a great day - Steve
Wow, the only thing we are missing is tons of dealer stock! Drooling & being patient! LOL.
What a nice man!
YOU ~ ROCK ! ! 🤛
Thanks so much for the comment, I appreciate it. - Steve
You have plenty of room in the kitchen for a oven and rectangular sink. ALSO, move your license plate arrangement so a carrier can be added to the hitch w/o contents blocking the license plate.
Great video. Could you show where the batteries are located?
So are you saying that you would need to have the rv's suspension re aligned after its loaded with ones stuff. That sounds like a pain in the especially with how long I've been reading any kind of work takes at these rv centers. I really wonder how many people do that.
good information, there is though no mention of the AC condensate draining; it appears it is not directed and is at the mercy of the angle of slope where you are parked. Draining sometimes right above the door to the coach. Not a goo design. Is there a fix? Thanks. P.
Question. I was told by my salesman for our TE that we are picking up this week that the rear camera only works in reverse. Steve on your video states it works all the time. Can you please clarify? Thank you.
Will there be a no slide floor plan in the future
can a lift kit be put on that? wider tires?
Is this fully insulated, water , etc?
What is the differences in the Gemini and Compass ?
Get what aligned after loading?
Hi this one what years how much thank
Thank you for the informative video. We have a 2022 Compass 23TW on order and was wondering if the manuals could be sent ahead of delivery so we can be very familiar with the systems and how they work and our maintenance before we get insurance unit and have to learn and remember everything at once. Thank you.
Hi Connie. If you have the VIN number get signed up on the Owner's Resource page.. you'll find all the info there... www.thormotorcoach.com/owner-resource/ Thanks - Steve
You can download from the site for your RV.
Great your, Except U didn't show the inside of the shower in either Thor?
Hi, great video. Very informative and helpful. A couple of questions, does the TV up front extend out from the wall and/or swivel? Secondly, how does the sound system for the radio perform. Does it get a least a "little loud" and have decent bass response? As a musician, sound quality is important to me. Thanks a lot!
Hi Bob. Each floor plan handles the TV differently. On the TE, it retracts out of the counter and on the TW it is mounted over the entry door not on a swivel. As for the sound system, it has the Ford Sync 3 set up in there and it's pretty good. With the EcoBoost being a fairly quiet engine, you get some decent sound. It's not going to be a Bang & Olufsen, Harman Kardon, or Mark Levinson but I think it holds it own. All you can do is find one on a dealer near you and take one out and give it a listen. Thanks for the questions. - Steve
@@ThorMotorCoach Steve, thank you so much for your time and your reply. Excellent video, by the way...
@@ThorMotorCoach I don't know if it's a Ecoboost 3.5 but rather the natural aspirated 3.5 used in the transit van. Rock solid engine except for the water pump. Engine is expected life is 200K if you keep the oil changed and watch or antifreeze in the oil.
I am ordering the 2022 23TW, Frist question: Can I add 175W solar flex in parallel with the existing 100W solar panel? Second question: How many house AGM batteries ? and the Generator automatically run when batteries below the threshold? Third question: How much the clearance from the hookup waste outlet to the ground so that I can insert the macerator?
Did you ever get responses for your questions? I just ordered a 2023.
Actually pretty nice inside, but would have liked to see the inside of the fridge and the storage space beside it. Also, did not like the access to the generator and the black tank. Definitely not easily accessible.
since this is all wheel drive and the tires cannot be rotated (front to back) would it be detrimental to have uneven wear on the tread?
Hi. The tire still need to be rotated. Here is the Transit owners manual to show you the proper rotation pattern. www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/vdirsnet/OwnerManual/Home/Content?variantid=7386&languageCode=en&countryCode=USA&Uid=G2071282&ProcUid=G2102904&userMarket=USA&div=f&vFilteringEnabled=False - Thanks Steve
I love the Compass and Gemini. The Ford chassis was a smart choice over the Mercedes diesel. Who the heck wants to pay to maintain a Mercedes engine? I just wish there were other ways to get the cost of this unit down. I don't need AWD. Also don't need everything to be motorized - why not just a pull down shade over the cab? How about an option to remove the Wi-Fi system? Let's ditch some of the unnecessary tech and stick to keeping it simple. Realistically the price at the dealership for this RV should be $75,000.
What is RUV?
Does the bed have to be in the up position when the slide is in, or can it remain flat while driving?
Hi, the bed does need to be in the up position. Thanks for the question. - Steve
How much this RV?
@Thor MotorCoach With Ford now making the Transit Van in an electric version will there be an electric version of the Gemini coming out?
Perhaps one day, but not right now. However, I'm sure our engineers and R&D team are thinking about the future of electric and the possibilities. - Steve
@@ThorMotorCoach Thank you. A question for them to ponder is 'if they can do that is there a way to possibly put enough solar on the unit to power the motor as well as the coach so there would be no need to have to stop every so many miles to recharge?' Just food for thought if/when they get to the planning stages. I look forward to the day when we can all have the ability to be truly self sufficient.
I don't know if it's a Ecoboost 3.5 but rather the natural aspirated 3.5 used in the transit vans. Rock solid engine except for the water pump. Engine is expected life is 200K if you keep the oil changed and watch for antifreeze in the oil.
Richard, the Gemini and Compass use the AWD transit Ford Transit Chassis with the 3.5L V6 Eco Boost® Turbo Gas Engine, making 310-HP, 400-lb.ft. Torque Thanks - Steve
@@ThorMotorCoach I wonder why they have this 3.5 Eco tamed down so much? In other applications it has up to 400HP and 500 Lbs of torque. Wouldn't that be awesome in these smaller coaches?
How long (approximately) does it take to build one after ordering?
Jennifer, our team builds these from start to finish in a few weeks. Right now, because of high demand, you would have to talk to your local dealer to see what sort of inventory they have ordered to be delivered to their lots. www.thormotorcoach.com/locate-a-dealer/ Thanks. - Steve
How Much ?
Price?
Greetings Steve,
1) What is the fuel economy?
2) What chassis options does Thor select from Ford?
3) Are there plans for additional floor-plans?
Thank you!
Hello. Because these are new models I have yet to see any real world numbers. On the old engine I put 1,000+ miles on a trip and got around 14-15 mpg so I am guessing it will be similar. But until I see feedback from customers I don't have an exact number to give. Our product development team and engineers choose the chassis they feel is appropriate for the vehicle they are designing. As for new floorplans, I am not in on that part of the product - but we are always innovating and looking at customer feedback to create the best motorhomes in the market. Thanks for writing - Steve
I can't help myself! He's so HANDSOME. It's a good thing he's married otherwise I'd be asking how much more to add him to the deal? Just kidding! 😂😂😂 Love it! Want it!
Awww thanks Paula! Have a great weekend and thanks for watching. - Steve
Can you get a lithium upgrade on this?
Hi. At this point lithium is not an option on the Gemini or Compass. Thanks for writing. - Steve
HOW MUCH???
Boys get on AWD axis and vegas please
When you say 'aligned', are you talking about wheel alignment?
Yes he is
@@pastorkelli Thanks!
Do they or one of them have indoor shower?
Hi. Yes, all floor plans have a full bathroom. www.thormotorcoach.com/compass/floor-plans/ Thanks - Steve
Wow, I've watched several RV reviews on "Matt's RV Reviews", but they don't offer the degree of detail and information presented here.
Hi Jeff, thanks for the feedback, we appreciate it - Steve
They are the exact same unit but they have different names so they can have more dealers in a certain area and share the business in a given city.
Can someone tell me when the TE model's slide is in how much room there is between the couch and the cabinet - Pathway back to the bathroom
I have a TE and mine measures 10" - yep, it's tight but you can get back to the kitchen and bathroom.
@@chrisjones885 Thanks Chris, this is exactly what we were looking for - we get our TE last part of March or Early April. How are you liking yours?
How do I close slide when computer is down
On a 2023 compass 23tw
Hi Fred. On the "brain" which is in one of the bays, unplug the wire harness. This unlocks the wall. Then grab a few people to push it back in. Plug the wire harness back in. Here's a video on how to do that. ua-cam.com/video/0dIQp0h97xY/v-deo.html If you can not get it in, give us a call and we'll help you out. (877) 855-2867 Thanks - Steve
Watched this entire video and I still have no idea what the difference is between a Compass and a Gemini.
Just show inside can educate on location..
Is the engine turbocharged?
Hi. Yes, this has the twin-turbo 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 with 310 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque under the hood. Thanks - Steve
@@ThorMotorCoach Can air suspension be ordered?
@@bajapointe Air suspension is not offered on that chassis. The front suspension is twin I-beam independent with computer-selected coil springs and stabilizer bar and the rear is multileaf single-stage leaf springs/solid axle and stabilizer bar. Thanks - Steve
OK, I give. What’s RUV mean?
Hi. R.U.V. = Recreational Utility Vehicle. With AWD and all the amenities you need, you can enjoy time just about anywhere. Thanks - Steve
@@ThorMotorCoach Does it work for a ski trip, say 5-15 degree F weather?
And the million dollar question that wasn’t answered, what is the difference between the Gemini and Compass?
The difference between the Gemini and Compass is the interior colors and graphics on the exterior. Thanks for watching -Tom
It’s all “simply”.
Not too sure about storing my fresh water hose in with my sewer hose eww!
At no point do we say to do so. At 21:36 we say store them in tubs and in different bays. Not to mention this is a brand new coach and this is simply for demonstration purposes which is made clear throughout the video. - Steve
이건 얼마고 ?
Iam old school , too much high technology, people still like maps, and just on off switch??! Lol.
I guess this guy is paid by the minute? Video is way longer than it needed to be!
Hi. R.V. experts like yourself may not need all this information. We get a number of calls from people who just picked up their motorhomes and have questions. As good as the dealers are at going through the information, it's a lot to take in for first time buyers. Our goal here is to show people how to use their RV and we'll use as much time as it takes to get them that information. - Steve
Да ни кому не интересно какая кнопка для чего, главное обстановка и уют
Actually, yes, people are interested in what button does what. These videos are to walk people through using their new RV and put together based on customer suggestions. - Steve
i fell asleep half way through--this video is for infants or somebody who has never left their basement...
Or it could be for first time owners at the request of our dealers. With the pandemic and social distancing, buyers (and even their babies) need another way to get all the info on how to use their new RV. Since you must have known everything when you bought your first motorhome, it may not apply to you, but not everyone is as RV savvy as you. Thanks for watching half - Steve
@@ThorMotorCoach Not sure why dethray is so snarky! I for one, will not be meeting with the the owner of THIS model RV that I'm about to rent for our first short outing. I have never owned a camper or an RV, but may soon, depending on how this experience goes. I FULLY appreciate the detail and step by step video. That is exactly what I wanted and it's put my mind at ease on a few different questions. I am no dummy by any means, but it's new territory for me and you don't learn this stuff in one little 20 minute session. Thank you for the great video
