This is really a very good demonstration that will help a lot of people learn how to paint much better. That line you said "using the background as an eraser" is a brilliant way to put it. I'm going to use that line.

Great to see your masterful paint application. Mix colour, test, load your brush, apply in long strokes, no fidgeting, no hesitation, in the direction of the form, reload, repeat. Thanks for this fine demo.

Well this definitely helped me understand how to avoid creating muddy colors, as well as noting the tips on using proper pressure.
Do you have a video on how to thin paint? For example, how much thinning medium is mixed with the colors? I hope you understand my question. I’m looking forward to watching more of your videos. I always learn something new to use in my drawings (I don’t paint a lot but I love to see you’re paintings).
    Thank you very much.

The best variant for me is at 18:50 frame. There are the most complete tonal relations between the red apple-green background and the dark-green shadow. You need just a horizontal suggestion of the table as a warmer green. I like also the warm-green background from 19:40 (for example) but the shadow has no transparence (it needs more green from the background) and the red apple needs some reflected background on the right part of the viewer to fuse more with the background...
