Unfortunately so many people go back to eating meat because of not properly eating on a vegan or plant based lifestyle. Today's time everything is so processed that its much easier to go vegan, yet not always healthier. Too many factors and not being educated in food is top tier. But plenty of people also have health issues prior on thier change of lifestyle. If you stick to mostly plant based and do some intermittent fasting, exercise and avoid majority of processed foods most peoples bodies and minds should improve. Again things outside of our control, stress and dna. The biggest challenge is having a doctor who may disagree with your lifestyle of avoiding meat and dairy. They are quick to convince you otherwise. Also supplements just the basics in the beginning until the transition is easier to eating regularly on a new lifestyle of plant based. Ive read and watched too many ppl go plant based/vegan and have more successful stories over decades than ppl who give up. But i wish what was more talked about was specifically sugar. If anyone reads this and has inflammation and or issues with health including cancers or and tumors, avoid meat, dairy, alcohol, SUGAR thats processed (fruits fresh are safe not adfitives with sugars) and the ultra processed foods. Give it time. Also please drop any fizzy drinks including seltzer water or bubble water or whatever people call it these days any soda even soda water completely destroys your gut health. 30 mins a day of any form of exercise and your health should improve. Yes most ppl around you will disagree, you will have a difficult time enjoying yourself in the beginning including going out with friends and family. BUT in time you will definitely start to see and feel healthier. As long as you so the work and put in effort in educating the foods you need vs the ones you should avoid plant based /vegan lifestyle should help you live healthier and longer. Give yourself some room to make mistakes or fall off the "wagon" enjoy a treat or so but remember within time the more you stick to avoiding those foods that are not plant based the easier itll become to not want them and the best part is when you do want something thats processed your body wont tolerate more than a small portion before you feel sick as your body is much healthier from the plant based lifestyle. Do your own research talk to people and doctors who are looking to save lives without making money off patients.. Hopefully this helps anyone who reads this. Im not agains ppl eating meat and dairy - but ive seen too many health benefits from ppl who avoid vs ppl who continue to eat it. Its more rare to find ppl who go plant based /vegan for decades to be diagnosed with cancers and autoimmune diseases than ones who eat meat and dairy. We already know deli meat is a known carcinogenic why are people still eating subs with turkey and ham ? If you want a sub stuff it with vegetables. If you must have animal protein go for lean cooked like chicken or turkey breasts not processed deli meat or at restaurants or grocery prepared foods- buy it and boil or grill it yourself chop slices and toss in your sub. Can of Healthy tuna thats not ultra processed would be tuna and water no added salt and thats more of a treat not daily or weekly suggested. I've been a subscriber from way back in the day. I'm also a longtime vegan who is considering making the switch to being a pescatarian. I'm experiencing fatigue, brain fog, very dry skin. I don't have time to properly plan my meals due to being a mother to a young child. I'm grappling with the decision but I think I will only eat seafood 2x a week to see if my health will improve.
aww thanks for sharing! I found your channel when I started my veganism journey and you were a huge help. I'm now dairy-free pescatarian (8 years in) for similar reasons to those you mentioned and it is the perfect diet for me in this phase of life. I still eat a lot of plant-based meals but having the option of seafood has made a huge difference for me for the better. Praying you find your perfect diet and that your health continues to thrive!!!
i found you through veganism and used to binge watch all of your videos! i was vegan for 5 years and now i am not, it was a very strict part of my life. i had a seizure and started prioritizing my health more, which included doctors telling me i needed more of a balanced diet. which im not blaming veganism on, i just never did it properly. the crazy thing is i randomly started watching your videos 2 weeks ago & it made me feel guilty to be a “non vegan” now, although i still haven’t meatless meals and stray away from dairy, it’s hard to give up that part of what you’ve formed as an identity. i completely get it! do what’s best for you! i followed you because of veganism, stayed because of your personality! ❤️
That’s great to hear that you’re feeling better in your body with the healthy changes that you have been incorporating 💖 I have been following you for a long time too and I love seeing when UA-camrs change for the better. That’s what the true meaning on influence is, is to be able to show others that healthy habits are essential to our experiences. So yeah good for you girl!
I see why you were hesitant to share- people are wildly judgmental and awful. I went vegetarian when I was 18 and i’ve modified my diet many times, being pescatarian or fully vegan at different stages. I’m now 34 so it’s been 16 years and right now for me, eating some fish is the sweet spot. I find these labels so restrictive- eat what you feel aligns with your ethics. To me, eating eggs from chickens I’ve raised feels better than eating a bunch of highly processed plant-based food. Only you can make those decisions for yourself ❤

Thank you for this video. I was not vegan but I am returning to meat after being pescatarian for 6 years and trying vegetarianism for a short time in the 6 years. Why are vegans so judgy? You all think you know better and forget that everyone's body is different. I know 3 vegans who are all very underweight and all have depression. my friend quit being vegan for 2 weeks until he realized he was making mistakes to his dietary choices. once you remember what happens to animals for your 5 minute meal and realize your dietary mistakes, its easy to come back. if you never cared about the animals, then you were only plant based not vegan.
Your friend uses animal products from the same animals they choose not to eat. Nothing has changed except for the fact his diet is deficient because of a fad.
Being vegan destroys your body and ages you way faster. You need a balanced diet not a vegan exclusive one unless you prioritize animals over yourself.
So relatable. I went vegan almost ten years ago (in two weeks) and have recently looked into protein needs much more. After about five years into my journey, I stopped being a strict vegan for disordered eating and mental health reasons. I started to eat the occasional non-vegan piece of cake or dressing when eating out, just so that I have options when there is nothing vegan (options have increased so much, which is wonderful)! But now with working out more, and still being a broke college student, I am honestly thinking about eating more protein-rich vegetarian foods to not break the bank. Let's see how it goes! I would be interested to hear what you eat now instead. Thanks for sharing your journey!
Thank you for making this video. I’ve been vegan for 9.5 years and I feel like my body needs a change. I’d love to see some meals you eat now that you’re incorporating meat in your diet. I’m glad you’re feeling better, that’s what truly matters.💛
@@MoistVegan Will you? You use animal products from those same animals. Why do you use animal products needlessly (that means possible and practicable to avoid) while only pretending to be against it?
Caring about the well-being of animals used for food is sweet, and I wish it could also be reduced, but I just want to point out that if the whole world went vegan, sure there would be benefits, however all the animals we currently use for food that are already at farms would be abandoned or go extinct because they’re raised in captivity therefore we cannot return them to the wild because they wouldn’t survive. It’s unfortunate that animals raised for hundreds of years by humans can no longer survive without our help, but that’s just how they evolved. Sheep need us to shear wool, or it will become matted and overgrown and painful to the point it’s too Heavy for them to walk. Cows need us to milk them because they were selectively bred to produce higher volumes of milk to keep up with supply and demand, so if we don’t milk them their udders will hurt, and actually it can cause something called milk buildup, that can cause udder injury and bruising, as well as sickness or death. Some of the animals we use might do better surviving in the wild, but others we absolutely cannot release. The first step in making the world vegan would be undoing the selective breeding over hundreds of years so that the animals we use can survive on their own. The second would be finding a food alternative to meat with a similar nutritional value so people who eat meat daily don’t end up dying from malnutrition. Because plants don’t offer a lot of protein, but meat does.
This blows my mind bc I've been meat free almost 30 years. I can't imagine what going back would be like. I have zero desire to do that but she said everyone's body needs different things could be true. I just know I don't need meat. For me.

From what I'm understanding at least from this video is that you were never actually vegan. You were plant based. You seemed to have treated everything as a diet and veganism is not a diet. It's a lifestyle that seeks to lessen the amount of suffering and death that happens to sentient beings. Meaning, as a vegan you also don't buy products that are tested on animals, wear animal skin, etc. If it was only about your diet, you were never vegan.
the way that vegans make it impossible to be even partially a part of the community makes people not want to be vegan 🙄 probably easier for people to understand quickly what vegan means than “plant based” and also isn’t it better to be even partially vegan than fully because then you can educate and learn about the other aspects of being vegan?? who cares how devout you are to being vegan… love you amanda plz keep being you
@kel_create Well, if you look at the original definition of veganism, which was founded in the UK in the 1940s, veganism was always about ethics, not just diet. Modern times have shifted veganism to seem just a diet, when it isn't. That's why spreading information and using correct terms is important. I'm just trying to get people to really understand veganism because most people don't. Of course, it's better for people to consume a smaller amount of animal flesh. However, I would argue participating in anything that is unethical, even partially is still not good. If I killed 1 person every 10 years, i'd obviously be better than someone who has killed 20 people, but it's still not good. The best thing would be not to participate at all. There's a big difference between intentional and unintentional. When u buy and consume animal flesh, you are intentionally causing harm to innocent sentient beings. It's also doesn't look good for veganism, when people who were never really vegan come out and say "I'm no longer vegan" it just looks bad on veganism and does more harm than good to the vegan movement
It's sad to hear as I was following you mostly for vegan content (i've also been vegan for about the same time: 9-10 years) but I understand. Hopefully there's more ethical ways to live without harming any animals. Much love 💖
Good for you ! Spread the word …. We need to be eating in a way that’s consistent with our Biology. And our biology is, we are Apex predators, we have a pH in our stomach of 2.0, we are not herbivores, we don’t have a ruminant stomach, and certainly we can consume vegetables and fruits (plants) but that’s not what we are designed for. We are designed primarily to eat meat/flesh/fat . We can absorb the nutrients from other creatures and that’s what builds our brains. We are not the creatures that can eat pounds and pounds of fiber and turn it from fibrous material into short chain fatty acids in our ruminant stomach. We are the type of creatures that typically get bloating and upset stomach and typically don’t feel good from fiber . As humans , We need a lot of saturated fat/protein. What we don’t need is A bunch of fibrous material that we can’t metabolize and do anything with. That doesn’t mean there isn’t any value in plants or that we can’t do anything with plants. Because we definitely can .
You did it for the wrong reasons. I’m a buff vegan and don’t need the “gram of protein per body weight” myth. Again it’s for animal and environmental reasons. There are so many of us who went vegan around the same time in the 2010s, remained vegan for many years, and are changing our diets now that we're older.

😢 I am never cutting out meat again. I have gone 3 months without eating meat, I maintained 2300 calories daily with salads, fruits, nuts etc... Never have I ever experienced so many health problems back to back. I wish I never would have changed my diet. I am currently sick and in pain. Hopefully I'll get better when I eat meat again. (I have also exercised daily, tracked my daily fluid intake and sleep. I weigh 110 lbs.)
@JesusLightsYourPath getting enough protein and fat is the important part.. and being able to digest it all properly. I do best on a heavier meat diet myself.

We all need to do what’s personally best for us. I commend you for posting this video as I’m sure it was nerve wrecking to do so.
This !!! Yes I agree
I was going to say this 👏🏼 she was plant based and obviously didn’t care about animal suffering👎🏼
the way that vegans make it impossible to be even partially a part of the community makes people not want to be vegan 🙄 probably easier for people to understand quickly what vegan means than “plant based” and also isn’t it better to be even partially vegan than fully because then you can educate and learn about the other aspects of being vegan?? who cares how devout you are to being vegan… love you amanda plz keep being you
Very well said. #stillvegan
If it helps, I’m relatively new (in the last 6mos) and had no idea you were even vegan 😂
It's sad to hear as I was following you mostly for vegan content (i've also been vegan for about the same time: 9-10 years) but I understand. Hopefully there's more ethical ways to live without harming any animals. Much love 💖
This is so sad.

You look so healthy and beautiful! So happy you’re feeling happy within your journey :)
Seems like you ditched veganism really to fit back into the social construction of “needing” animal products. And how you gone about your vegan diet seemed questionable.
