“Be prepared to take a paycut”? Wrong. Employers save money by not having to house staff, provide bathrooms, etc. There is no reason one’s skills would add less value due to their geography. Don’t buy in to this, folks.
This is about control not efficiency. I hope all of these employers loose out in the long run and are taught a lesson in humility.
This is ridiculous the amount of traffic that people have to endure on a daily basis is extremely unnecessary. People who can work from home should work from home.
I just love how all these companies are drumming the "camaraderie, culture, mentorship, sense of belonging" drum when the workplace never had any of that before I went home. Toxic ass workplaces!
Um no ma'am. There should not be pay cuts in exchange for the money a person is saving by not driving to work. Why would someone take a pay cut from saving their own money on their personal expenses? They can demand all they want, but they will lose people.
Flexible work is the future (pending industry). Companies that don’t embrace flexibility will lose talent faster than it’ll come in. Remote workers have proven to be more productive in various backed studies so the notion of a pay cut is ridiculous.
I feel bad for people being forced to go back
What is the big deal??? If you get your work done and the quality is high it shouldn’t be an issue.
With the Government screaming climate change you would think the WFH model would be very appealing. As this would get many people of the roads.
It's not about productivity or communication it's all about control
Let’s get back to the way it used to be now.
Employees hear "be prepared for a pay cut" and they think "cool, be prepared for me to be over-employed [aka 2 jobs]"
Fortunately, I'm in a career and stage of my career where I can demand remote work.
COVID forced a lot of companies to switch to remote and there really were some firms that took a stand and tried their best to retain employees. The problem now is life in general has changed and pay really hasn't increased as much as commodities and other items. So WFH has been a way for a lot of families to balance the books. Some even sold their second vehicle, etc. - resulting in lifestyle changes. There will be resistance to a flat out, sudden switch back. That's a bad idea.
They paid for those office buildings so need to get their money worth lol 😂
Took a pay cut for a different job when my job announced return to office...
As a nanny, I HATE this wave of WFH parents! Send their asses back to the office so that I can work in peace!!!
More employers losing employees. Next headline! 😂
And this is what we call "Paid Programming."
