Nice. Am wondering… once windows is cloned, do you need to reactivate or buy another license for windows? I think I had issues using macro in reflect to clone a system some 3 years back and had to reactivate or buy another windows licence. Can’t remember exactly but was fine prior to cloning. Them had issues post cloning. Copied everything ok but the licence came up as an issue as migrated drives to new system

It won't matter if you don't have the two drives going at the same time. The windows install checks the key, and if the same key is used more than once you will have to get a second key.

@@7MBoostedin newer Windows versions (7 and up) the key is tied between a bios key and microsoft servers (for OEM computers). For non OEM computers (no bios key available) it is usually not a problem to activate more than once. Microsoft has probably realized that they rather keep a huge market share to sell apps via their App store instead of selling license keys.

@daw7563 you're right. I was thinking retail key, not OEM key.

I think you can deactivate the key on the old pc and use the same key on your new pc.

As long as you don't use or boot up from the old drive on a different machine, you should be able to use the new drive with the cloned Windows OS on it without needing to re-activate it. At least it has worked for me perfectly numerous of times when sticking to the same system, and only upgrading the SSD. :)
