  • Hey! Thanks for tuning in for a couple tips and tricks to improve your base level NHL94. The best part of this video is that for 7 minutes I couldn't score on Ottawa with 5 of the best players in the game. OH WELL, that's NHL94 and I kept laughing thinking of how funny it would look to my buds watching this.
    In this video, I recap:
    1) the cross slot slapper
    2) the side deke
    3) the side deke backhand
    4) the "coming out of the corner" aka "glitch goal"
Let me know what your favourite way to score in the chats, or any other videos you'd like to see on my channel.
Who is your favourite NHL94 player besides Roenick? What's your favourite team?

I remember buying this game at Toys R Us in 1993 when this game 1st came out. I was a kid then, didn't know any better so I bought the nhl series starting with 94 up to 96.
My friend & I from high school (who I'm not friends anymore since highschool) we used to buy a hockey game every year at $80 each.
This was in the 90's where there was no internet, you had to rely on the magazine or the art on the box. You couldn't buy digital either. Gaming was not as huge as it is today.

Shoot, you could shoot at the goalie, and take your player
and ram the net knocking the puck past the goalie who
was knocked out of the crease. But just deking the goalie
was the easiest way to score. I am back into playing NHL
97 for the Playstation. Funny, but I never played it much
when I bought it(worked a lot) but now with free time, I
turn it on. Still easy to score, but not like Sega's game
engine. Jagr is killing the league in goals scored, and
Lemieux is in the top 20. It is rare to lose, and I still do
once in a while, but my saved season has me winning
over thirty straight games, so I have not lost in over
three months on my schedule. But I play New Jersey
next, and they are always tough to beat in this game for
some reason. Must be a Devil fan for a programmer.

well the thing is they only have a year each time to develop right? so in 95, they were like "let's improve the skating function and make it more realistic!" so they made a bunch of changes and when it came time to put it out, I don't think they were really satisfied but they had to go with it. It was worse, and kept being worse than 94.
I ended up playing '97 for 23 years... go play it after playing 94 for a while. it's super speed trash. You do these "loops" with your skates that simulate edges and it's so frustrating.

depends what you mean... like SNES does/can go back and forth much more quickly because passes are laser beams and players move faster, but faster isn't better. Genesis allows you to have more time to set up plays and plan your offensive attack instead of just passing before getting crunched. I play both versions too!

94 is the best but I think 96 is pretty great too. If you have nobody to play with the CPU is at least a little tougher/smarter in 96. Plus having a full season to see how many goals/assists/points you can get is fun as well.

But that same negative factor turns into a positive factor when you were playing against other humans that know how to use goalie control.
