@loristitt65 How did you come to that conclusion? I don't have to upload any videos to UA-cam! I could simply just go ahead and delete them all, rather than having to deal with your insult! 😔
I didn't see a lot of these until this person put them up. I have loved this show since I was a little kid in the 70s. I've never watched a lot of 📺 though. This is the first time I heard Trixie say she had a sister Peggy. My name's Peggy 😆 Cool, you have her autograph.
If Uncle George is coming to dinner at 6 and the first fight isn't till 8, then Ralph can have dinner with Uncle George for an hour, leave for the fight at 7 and still have plenty of time to get there by 8. Even if he and Ed arrive a little late, they'd still be there for the main bout.
Sorry i love Ralph! He would never hurt Alice. HE IS SCARED OF ALICE BELIEVE ME. It's a funny show and you should not get upset at all. I feel sad for Alice but she really loves him and understands him better than anyone else.
This is lost on a lot of people. Alice was in charge of practically everything in that household, and Ralph knew it. It's incredibly clever writing on Gleason's part, to have Ralph be a caricature of a typical man of his era but Alice poked holes through those conceptions to show that women were every bit as intelligent, capable, and strong as their husbands.
@Scissorman82 I couldn't agree more. It's a major part of the underlying storyline of the show. Ralph keeps yelling "I'm the boss" throughout the series, but clearly he is not! And everytime he says that we can see it coming!
@Scissorman82 I agree with OP. I don't agree that Alice was the boss of the house because Ralph never really kept his word and went behind her back on a lot of things she was against. He also didn't provide her with much, and provided all the extras for himself, and himself only. I still absolutely adore the honeymooners and watch it often, no Ill feelings with Ralph, I just would never be married to a man like him. I know plenty of Alice's who were married to a Ralph, they were miserable and now they're divorced.
I love how they ad-libed a lot of their lines in the early days. Talking over each other is how people actually talk. I like it. They mirror I Love Lucy somewhat in story lines. Ralph is not Ricky but you know what I mean. 😅 And between you and me, I have a secret crush on Ed Norton. VA VA VA VOOM!!!!
The never rehearsed, so I think that had everything to do with it since they didn't have the timing of the lines down. They never ad-libed on this show.
During WWII, it was common on popular radio programs to have the actors come out of character to pitch for War Bonds. Listeners were urged to give until it hurt, and that's what people did.
Funny that in the Italian restaurant, Norton surrenders his hat to the hat-check girl, but Ralph keeps his on. Norton even had his hat on when he went to bed.
That was TV back in the 1950's. A lot of it was either live or with little or no rehearsals. When they goofed, they just picked themselves up and kept going.
Norton is so funny,I watch Jonny Carson he was on the show and he shows up in his underwear its so funny.. Art Carney sure can play the piano. He such an artist he was!
Unfortunately they both passed away long ago, Jackie Gleason (Ralph) in 1987 and Art Carney (Norton) in 2003. And sadly no, they did not get along well after the Honeymooners ended.
Great episode with the letter to the boss. And several years later the flintstones copied that exact story line. Also the finger man was a great episode that I don't remember seeing before. Norton really played perfectly off of Ralph.
From Alice’s point of view,Ralph is a lovable blow hard . It’s that simple not complicated unless you make it complicated . If you can’t see the strong bond between Alice and Ralph then you will never understand the beauty and comedy of this comedic masterpiece .
Ralph is something. The guy never learns. How many times has he jumped to conclusions and been wrong? For once he should say to himself: I don't know. I don't have all the information. How a fine, sensible, fairly good-looking woman like Alice could have fallen for this verbally abusive idiot is beyond me. Well, at least he's funny.
That is part of the ongoing storyline. Ralph never seems to get a break and he stuffs up everytime. In the end he usually ends up having to admit it and its always the lovely Alice to the rescue.
The reason Gleason kept these recordings under lock and key was because they were segments from his variety show and not as good as the Classic 39 episodes that came later.
Back in the day, being too touchy-feely with your wife in front of others wasn't done, even verbally. But in reality he was devoted to Trixie. Think about your own grandparents, are they very big on PDAs?
That forms part of the running comedy storyline: How Ralph has nothing compared to Ed and Trixie. Many jokes are made throughout the series about how crappy his apartment is. When Alice tells him that the place is a dump he yells out: Dump? Dump? Duuuump? In another episode he tells Alice not to worry if something happens to him because he has left all the stuff in the apartment to her. And the list of these jokes goes on and on.
Yes there is a reason Ralph's apt. Is not that great. Alot of the jokes deal with that place. ALICE SAID THAT THE PLACE LOOKS LIKE YUCCA FLATTS AFTER THE BLAST.
The main characters, especially Ralph, are not that likeable in these lost episodes. He is aggressive, violent , obnoxious and all he has to do is apologize for a happy ending. The regular episodes are similar, but the edge and meanness are toned down. These episodes certainly reflect real life, but it’s kind of uncomfortable to watch in a comedy.
I totally agree with you, Gleason's version of Ralph here was not as 'lovable', not that the Classic 39 Ralph wasn't throwing people out of his apartment, but in the lost episodes he acts more aggressive and downright mean.
@@alcahallic4526 true…they probably softened the character on purpose to make him more appealing. I understand Gleason endured a difficult childhood. Perhaps he channeled some of that to create the original character
I really love the lost episodes especially the short ones. But you make a good point I've thought about as well Ralph is nastier and edger in these episodes. Absolutely wild at times and then all he has to do at the end and say baby you're the greatest and all is forgiven.
Then move on , nothing to see here if you can't take real acting . You must live the sodomite productions of modern t.v. and movies . I say your the sick one .

Love the Honeymooners!! 😂❤ Thank you so much 😊
Glad you like them! Please share.
I love honeymooners
When this show was broadcast, I was 22 days away from being born. My family didn't have a TV, that's probably why I was conceived.
Ralph was such an animal!!!!!! Alice just laughed at him.
My favorite show The Honeymooners and their characters Ralph Kramden and Alice Kramden.

Hope you make Norton shower before sex!!
I think he is so cute also.
Alice such a pretty laugh and smile
Can you imagine today saying “we should give all our money to the government, “especially this government”? Boy have things changed.
It almost sounded like a political campaign ad.
Man 1950s we’re strange. Man 1950s times were SCARRY
During WWII, it was common on popular radio programs to have the actors come out of character to pitch for War Bonds. Listeners were urged to give until it hurt, and that's what people did.
@djbird11 Not much has changed there, except these days they pitch for political parties.
I love honeymooners❤
Love the cottage. So funny
3:22:48 - I swear Ralph is hilarious " Look out" Did you get a license for that tank yet?" LMAOOOOO
Anyone else noticed that Alice said how about a cup of coffee Ed when she was talking to Phil? Lol.
Phil screwed up the line too, and said that Phil was acting strange, when he's Phil!! LOL

😂
3:38:13, Ralph heard the door before anyone knocked. Lol 😅
I can't wait to get rhere😅
Why dont they laugh when Trixie or Alice are funny😮????
Funny that in the Italian restaurant, Norton surrenders his hat to the hat-check girl, but Ralph keeps his on. Norton even had his hat on when he went to bed.
You very rarely get to see Norton without his hat on.
That's part of his characters schtick and charm
I love to watch the honeymoon is that funny
Honeymooners remind me of the flintstones
The Flintstones was based on The Honeymooners.
Gleason almost sued.
great job!
Funny😂 they don’t make them like this anymore.
Hollywood heavy, Elisha Cook (Maltese Falcon) portrays one in the "Santa And The Bookies" episode.
I love this
That pretend punch was pretty close..
2:17:22 The Actor playing Phil says to Alice "don't you think that Phil is acting kind of strange" when he should have said "Ralph".
That was TV back in the 1950's. A lot of it was either live or with little or no rehearsals. When they goofed, they just picked themselves up and kept going.

Unfortunately they both passed away long ago, Jackie Gleason (Ralph) in 1987 and Art Carney (Norton) in 2003. And sadly no, they did not get along well after the Honeymooners ended.
Jackie Gleason and Art Carney have both passed!
the bronx must have been great then boy its a dump today , Mt Vernon too.
Wow, Ed Norton, is EXTRA stupid in these, wonderful extras, I've never seen.
Phil called Ralph Phil!
Great episode with the letter to the boss. And several years later the flintstones copied that exact story line.
Also the finger man was a great episode that I don't remember seeing before. Norton really played perfectly off of Ralph.
Honeymooners writers were hired by the Flintstones
Tuna is great food mixed with rice or tuna casserole
Had tuna too often in my youth, especially tuna casserole....
Norton is such a sweet guy so why does he put up with that monster Ralph?
Ralph acts like he’s on drugs or something!
they are so funny together i love this show
Agreed! Ralph's character was overbearing and abusive; it's hard for me to listen to.
From Alice’s point of view,Ralph is a lovable blow hard . It’s that simple not complicated unless you make it complicated . If you can’t see the strong bond between Alice and Ralph then you will never understand the beauty and comedy of this comedic masterpiece .
@markbahouth2713 They always make that clear at the end of every episode.
Many people don’t like the lost episodes because Ralph was too explosive.
It wasnt strange to say ypu liked the government back people were more patriotic and believed in the American way
Hes a moax!😮😆
Just voicing their lines!
Yes, when they couldn't rehearse because of Jackie, they never got the timings down. It's a shame too, it must have been hard on the actors.
❤
He called Alice a big mouth!!!!
Pete and Gladys
That’s the line they were supposed to say!
I use to watch this show when I was younger I think I'm to intelligent for this show. A woman like Alice is too good for a man like like Ralph.
It's too intelligent, not to. LOL
Alice loved Ralph
Ralph is something. The guy never learns. How many times has he jumped to conclusions and been wrong? For once he should say to himself: I don't know. I don't have all the information. 😂
yacomitchenco1490: Just like Archie Bunker in All in the Family. From what I've seen, Ralph was a 1950s version of Archie Bunker.
Norton is such a sweet guy so why does he put up with that monster Ralph?
It’s like he’s on drugs or something!

“It’s PUSH PUSH, Williams…

They are reciting their lines! Norton is the best!
Is Ralph still a bus driver?
I'm very disappointed, not one "bang-zoom."

Getting Davy Jones.
I wonder why Ralph and Alice never had a baby??????
I think these episodes should have stayed lost!
So get lost and keep your ass and opinions to yourself entitled box
What a terrible thing to say. Those episodes are so funny i guess you dont understand. I thank god Jackie found them.
