Really enjoy the rock hunt with you. I didnt get a chance to stop at Van Buren State Park when I was down there but it looks like a beautiful beach to hunt at. Nice big beach, not lots of people. Also, nice variety of rocks.
Some very interesting looking stones on this beach ! Like the double find of epidote :) The variety is awesome at this beach 👍30:15 is amazing looking ! Your last piece of epidote with jasper dotting is sure pretty. I like how you both are so into the rocks 👍😊
At 1059. The green slag is very sought after. It is called Frankfort green. There is also Leland blue. Those are the really popular colors but it comes in all sorts of colors. Grey, purple etc. ffyi
Wow, I need to make it up to Van Buren SP before the summer is out! Loved the slag you were finding. I live down in South Bend and I find the most gorgeous blue slag on the river. Not as smooth and water tumbled as the lake, but definitely super pretty! Did some research and found out there was an iron smelter in the area back in the 1800s.
I love that you show if its difficult or not to get to the water
