Great discussion, guys. Glad to hear Kingsley is having a promising camp so far. LT is clearly the biggest question mark heading into the season.

I'm a little disappointed that Morris isn't wowing people. I thought he was a raw 3rd-rounder, last year, who set a pretty decent floor, physically. But it doesn't sound like he ironed-out his technique, yet, and he's still out over his feet in pass pro. Last year, when his feet were right, he was pretty dominant. He also was a much better run-blocker than Brown and Smith, before him.
I really thought it would take longer for Suamataia to assert himself. I'm not shedding any tears if he wins the job, and we're looking at our franchise LT. People look back fondly on Brown, but they really tailored that offense around his limitations, in my opinion. This year, whether it be Wanya or Kingsley, I think they'll have the best starting 5 of the Mahomes era.

Of course as a Brit rugby fan I'm watching LRZ with interest.
It's not easy to go from one sport to another at an elite level. Even Rugby League players struggle to go to Union and vice versa. Elite is a level where the difference between the winner and the loser is a percentage point.
The kick off is an area where the rule book and tactics are yet to be written.
I expect LRZ to be inconsistent and do the kind of things you do in rugby well - e.g. broken field running, playing off the cuff once the structure has broken down, and the more technical things like reading and making blocks less well.
The fact LRZ can throw laterals, place kick and make open field tackles probably means STs is his best shout, and it might take a few injuries for him to get a chance. I'm not expecting him to play in a skill position like RB this season unless there's another pandemic! It would be exceptional if he did..

You never know how long it'll take a guy to learn pad level, if it's not already instinctive. Pass protection is a major piece of playing in an Andy Reid offense, and he's getting run over by pass rushers, so far. Rugby's got plenty of contact, but it's a different kind of contact.
It's way early, yet. He's only had 3 padded practices against an NFL defense. He's had a handful of padded practices against other international tryout players like himself.
He's most likely to make a mark on STs, if his open-field running skills translate. He's also a good size and speed to be a gunner. Killer instinct on coverage was what propelled Terrell Davis to a HOF career as a running back.
Just read an article on LRZ. He's been preparing for his NFL run for a couple years, and was introduced to the game as a boy, by his father, who played American football in the UK. This isn't something he suddenly got a yen to do. It's something he's dreamed about since he was a kid.
He's got the physical tools and the vision to be pretty special in the NFL, but it ain't gonna be easy.

LT is the question of this entire camp.

Lrz said he was struggling to get the play book down. He
is very driven, striving to learn, and no doubt he looks night and day from ota's.

Thank You Both Gentlemen. Love your continuous postings of camp. Shhh, I'm watching yours and not the chiefs cuz the audio is usually superior.😁

Explain the batted ball better…recv team bats it where?

    • @NickJ71
      @NickJ71 2 місяці тому +2

If the receiving line touches the ball without leaving their feet. It is a dead ball and they can take it at the 40.
The vision I got when John Hussey was describing it, was like the frontline in volleyball at the net. All hands up.
So in the past anyone touching it on receiving team made it a live ball even if it didn’t go 10 yards. Now it has to go within a zone otherwise dead ball and at the 40.
