I was there to "experience" The Queen for BC! This is a beautiful video. If anyone has EXPERIENCED her in person... she takes your breathe away. I've cried tears of joy each time I see her at the track. God's gift to us. Enjoy her while we can! XO
Blondemare1, she did not lose this race. She beat all the boys and became the most famous mare in the country. I know, because I was there and took this video myself. She lost in 2010 by less than a head, probably one of the best races she ever ran. The Mosses were devasted, not for themselves, but because they love her so much they wanted her to be retired undefeated. As it turned out, that one loss made no difference at all in the love and admiration the public and other horse owners had for her.
Listen to the remarks - "geez, she's huge," "We love you."" Ohhh.. can you believe her? " The Queen and her Court. Thanks for the up close perspective.
She’s magnificent! Thanks for posting. Santa Anita Trevor Denman was right - Zenyatta was “unbelievable!” I watched in awe from the apron of the track as Queen Z swooped by the stellar Grade 1 field of males in race “we will never forget!” Now she is reigning in retirement as a broodmare at Land’s End Farm in Kentucky.
If her feet hurt obviously her trainer would take care of it-her connections are very mindful of her. That is just Zenyatta's personality to do what she does before every race. Similar to Seattle Slew's bouncing and Secretariat's posing. And not every owner pushes their horse past the breaking point.
oh for god sake...you people are nuts...get a life...she has more personality and character than you do ya granola (fragglesrolf)...her feet don't hurt she is just being her! She is great! I doubt your horse does all the same things (queenluciaa), does your horse win breeders cup? didn't think so, Zenyatta is pretty much the bomb, she is a character and a big fast gorgeous girl, if you're jealous don't watch her race!!!
The saddest part of her loss is the look of disappointment on the Moss's face. They have the horse of the decade (at least) and look like their house just burned to the ground. Shame on them. Z ran her heart out 20 times for them.
It was her little thing that she did. Just like those times when you saw Michael Jordan's tongue emerging from his mouth during a game, you knew something special was about to happen. Just like M.J., Zenyatta was fired up and ready to go kick some butt!
Debra Enderle come on, do you really believe that? it's just annoying to have this iron thing in your mouth, and probably because of something else irritating her she was 'dancing'.
Race horses that have a tendency to flip their tongue over the bit while running will have their tongue tied to the bottom jaw so they cant do that and the bit stays on top of the tongue where it is supposed to be, you can see the white tongue tie on her. It is definitely not a cute or special "thing she did" ETA: These horses are running at incredible speed, horse that have short flat tongues can accidentally get their tongues over the bit when they swallow while running. If the tongue is over the bit the jock has no steering and more importantly the horse can have their breathing compromised. So the tongue is tied usually with a strip of muslin and then the ends are tied under the jaw to keep it down and under the bit. It is only there for the race and it is removed right after, you often dont even see it in winners circle pictures..
Guess she's been stressed all of her races then. It's a quality about her. To me she is eager to race. Seattle Slew was similar. Ready to pop out of his skin.
I agree. Its not dancing and its not cute. A horse does that when their anxious, frustrated or even in pain. So yes, she is stressed as most race horses are, she just expresses it more.
could be, some horses paw for attention. As someone who works professionally in horses this isn't cute or dancing. Its some sort of tension, could be anticipation..... Its not something fun or me to watch to be honest. I think people who think its cute are not as aware of the situation. She was a truly great racehorse, though, so even if this was neg it didn't slow her down :)
@@judyakajude3370 Game face? Don't anthropomorphism animals. I've been around horses my whole life...rode, trained, and was a vet tech for a horse vet. I know anxiety in a horse when I see it.
I love Zennyatta but I hate the way all Race Horses are treated... She is not dancing but she is pawing the ground because she is nervous and inpatient. Also all Race Horses are drugged to go faster. So Please Read Thia
Why would you think you'd have to drug a horse to get them excited about something? Why can't they just enjoy themselves? Racehorses have a whole ritual pre-race with the saddling and the post parade, that and all the cheering people and they know they're about to go to the track and run!
Horses can be conditioned to expect exciting things just like when a dog gets excited when they know its time to go to the park but are relaxed when at home doing nothing. She was not drugged to be "hyper" she is just ready to go do something she likes to do.
The thoroughbred world is the cleanest and purest sport in the horse industry. The constantly have drug test and these horses live in luxury. The industry doesn’t even allow AI for breeding, everything has to be live cover. Do some research
Rebecca I wasn’t talking about the non winners and those who don’t make the track. I was talking about the horses who are still used in the racing world. Nor was this guy, so how about keeping up with the conversation. Yes, there’s a sad side of the racing world but so is for every breed. I do believe thoroughbred breeders and owners should be more limited on the breeding program for that exact reason. Too many horses to choose from, keep it limited and simple might help cut back on the toss aways

Zenyatta......the Dancing Queen!!!
Ahhh...Gorgeous, great, great horse! Thanks for the footage.
Her owners took a picture of her colt dancing in the pasture. CAN'T WAIT TO SEE HIM RACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's going to be just like Z.
The Queen! Her size, her beauty, her bearing, her personality, her talent! ♥
that horse is a boss, and she knows it
Rachel Alexndra was supposed to run this race and they pulled her out.
I don't blame them
what a ham this girl is! such a beauty.

She's a Goddess.

Cotton in her ears 😉
And that's exactly what she did.
Awesome!!
i don't see the point in cheering at the mounting yard... please explain? that can really make quite a few thoroughbreds go nuts...
Büyük şampiyon bizdede Türkiye de bold pilot vardı hatta hayatı film oldu
mmm whats funny is i dont see any of the 2010 Breeders Cup Walk over videos of our queen z....
imagine zenyatta breed wiz frankel two best horses in the world wat will b the outcome

Why is always the tongue out of her mouth?

Gwen Gebruers The tongue thing was one of her "Zenyattaisms" just like the dancing, side-stepping, and bowing. She was, and still is, a ham.
Debra Enderle you believe what you want to believe, I have another idea about it;
Race horses that have a tendency to flip their tongue over the bit while running will have their tongue tied to the bottom jaw so they cant do that and the bit stays on top of the tongue where it is supposed to be, you can see the white tongue tie on her. This is her at of warming up. This is getting her game face on so don't say she's stressed. I saw her in person many, many times. She was smart!

What kind of drugs did they give this mare before each race to make her so hyper, they say she is so gentle off the track, hum think about it.
