To all those saying Navarro should have won: Navarro knew what the difficulty of their routine was going into the competition. Judges are making sure they hit all those skills and that they do it well. Sure it’s kind of subjective, but point values for falls and missed skills are set. That is not subjective. Furthermore, they had score sheets from day one which really sets the standard for how the judges will score and Monica was happy with those. Sucks that they fell but there wasn’t any favoritism. It’s also not as much about the visual look, it’s really about the skills and cleanliness because that’s where teams mess up. TVCC deserved the win. To those who say that TVCC handled their falls on day 1 better than Navarro: It’s well known in cheer that if you fall on day 1 then it’s recoverable but you fall on day 2 and you’re done unless you’re literally MILES ahead of the competition because it counts for so much more than day 1. So it’s a lot easier to react well to a fall on day 1. The point is we don’t know what would have happened, but it looks like TVCC would have taken it home if there were no deductions on either teams parts, but that’s cheer. You practice all season and your teammates catch their stunt wrong one time because of the adrenaline and drop and now you’ve lost. It’s something you can’t control and it sucks but it’s the nature of the sport and it’s hard to be mentally tough enough to not be upset about it even if no one really did anything wrong.
trinity deserved the win but this is still amazing ❤️ broke my heart seeing gill's reaction, she's such a sweet and talented girl. her and maddy were my favs this season
When she kept apologizing after the performance My heart sunk and I broke down. I felt so bad for her. She probably thought she was the reason they lost ;( I hope she’s going alright.
That’s why when I first saw Navarro lost I was mad but after watching the show I didn’t know who to root for or what to feel I was like “YES TVCCCCC!!” But I was also like “Navarro…”
I came here after watching Cheer 2. Hate how they heavily edited the routine and added the dramatic music - plus, we hardly got to see any of the routine! Why did they cut it short on the show?! It's like, after the mistake, the dramatic sad music started; then it was over. This footage is much better.
100% I had to come to youtube to see what the routines looked like as a whole because I certainly couldn't tell from watching Netflix. Terrible shooting and editing decisions on both Daytona days. Every episode we see both teams working so hard on execution, shape and form to the finest detail and then the preposterous editing denies us the chance to see the end result.
@@bigdoghat3827 From what I remember from season 1 - cameras were not allowed in? I could be wrong. But the footage was so much better from s1. I guess Daytona saw the success of s1 and then agreed for cameras - no need for the heavy edits, tho. Sigh.
Honestly, their routine was good but you could tell all their strong tumblers left. TVCC had stronger stunts and tumbling in their choreo imo. Both routines were good though and losing by 0.2 points (or whatever the differential was) has gotta hurt. I have no doubt they’ll bounce back this year though!
I know nothing about cheer and I could telll tvcc tumbling was far above Navarro for atleast this competition. It’s that obvious. You was dee and you god omg! And you watch navarro and I just think same Old thing nothing new there…
Trinity's performance looked far sharper and more cohesive/collaborative than Navarro's. Trinity was acting as one throughout the entire season, Navarro seemed fractured and it kind of reflects.
Regardless of the fall I still think TVCC would have won. Of course would have to see the score sheets but TVCC was the better team. Their tumbling was phenomenal way better that Navarros.
The hurt in Gill’s eyes in the show is heartbreaking. But she’ll come back better than ever next year! I also loved Trinity’s routine though. They were excellent. It was a very close call.
I think they did amazing regardless, and much love for gill she's so sweet and I really hope she doesn't blame herself for their loss, they're all so talented and I didnt even notice the mistake
Before y’all come in here and say they should’ve won, they had a major and noticeable fall on day 2, which is 75% of ur score. U can’t fall on day 2 and win.
It is so hard for people to say they can't see it..Not sure if the show just sparked their interest but anyone who cheers/ or has cheered shoils easily be able to point out that one girl literally went to her stomach caught in a "superman". While the others were in the air being tossed . Poor gil didn't even get up there at all . Body contact the whole time . Easy spot.Plus it is right on the end. My heart did break for her , but I know she is determinded to win next season
The people who are saying the mistake is so hard to miss… it’s not. Far left tower you see her fall while the other 4 girls are up. You just missed it because you’re distracted by the other towers
I think that’s exactly the point people are trying to make. We missed it because it was generally fairly unnoticeable at first watch because you’re totally right… we were distracted by the other towers. So, you’re kinda proving our point 😅
No they didn’t win because of how exhausted everyone was after the pandemic, the emotional trauma of the allegations from previous teams, coach not being as present, distraction from the media etc. all these people are talented. The fact that they almost won is still astonishing given the facts that this would have taken any team out of the game
Gill falling or not, the Cards surely had a better routine, and they absolutely deserved the 2021 champ, hands down. Excited to see how both teams are gonna come back this year to snatch another trophy!
I totally love Navarro since Cheer season 1 came out and still do and I am totally one of the least qualified to judge these but just for a rookie point of view Navarro looked more pleasing to watch but their stunts looked less difficult meanwhile TVCC had a less flashy presentation but their stunts looked more impressive and their tumbling was just wow...again emphasized on the word look. Navarro had a really crappy season with the allegations and drama but still came up close. Proud of TVCC for winning though they looked that they were more hungry for it! TVCC deserved it ultimately. Here goes to Daytona 2022! Edit: Navarro's routine should have ultimately been better to accommodate Gill's mistake, I dont think it was her fault..it could be, it could be not but this will definitely make her want to redeem herself and she will definitely come back stronger
Looks like TVCC's baskets were higher too. I'm tryna watch both back to see how the scoring works. Also, for Maddy to be so small, her dancing is HUGE. She's a firecracker
Trinity was the better team this year. PERIOD. They are both great, but Trinity = more unified, more heart, less materialism and fame, less distractions better COACHING (I said what I sad). Trinity’s day 2 was 🔥 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 👏😜 don’t be mad. Maybe Navarro will learn to calm down and humble themselves. Coach included.
She fell on a dismount but almost missed a skill. The dismount was one and then they do a back walkover out of it, basically the whole stunt group has about 4 seconds that they’re just standing there. It’s a deduction for the drop but also for the stunt group
tbh I agree with what khris said to trinity which was that the judges wanted them to win, they just needed a reason to give it to TVCC not Navarro so that fall sealed it. Maybe bc of the bad press and Netflix focus for Navarro it would have upset some people that Navarro would win again, it was ‘rigged for tv’ etc. Not saying I agree but I think some ppl would have also argued that if Navarro won after the sexual abuse it would have been seen as Navarro ‘getting away with it’ even tho Jerry had nothing to do with this routine. That’s just what I was thinking when I watched it.
@@lucieirl you hit the nail on the head here I think Navarro was fighting a losing battle from the beginning which really isn't fair... not that TVCC didn't deserve to win etc.. like they said in the series it's always a close call but definitely politics played a huge part in not only Navarro's second place but their whole year :( wishing the best for everyone
@@Ashleycoco01 I cheered for years and honestly TVCC deserved to win. There’s no rigging or anything all the points are documented and their difficulty is decided based on what’s in the routine before they even get to the competition. Judges are just making sure all the difficulty is there and are looking for deductions. Plus coaches get their score sheets so they are very aware of how things were marked, there’s no hiding it so it’d be very difficult to rig. A fall out of a stunt is a very specific number of points off for falling and they lose difficulty so their raw score is lower too as well as their execution. Typically in the cheer world you can fall on day 1 (25%) and hit on day 2 (75%) and still win. If you fall on day 2 you’re pretty much going to lose because it’s so much more points and the competitors are typically very close, so both teams placed where they should have.
I had to rewatch like 4 times to catch her stunt falling like she did such an amazing job just seamlessly going back into Idont think I would've noticed if it wasn't for the series focusing in on it
The show definitely made it seems more dramatic, cause they slow moed. I didn’t even notice when the mess up with Gil at first. Props to her continuing the routine at 110%!
They made the mistake look way more noticeable on the documentary… but straight up… this team got robbed. They still should have come first. It was barely noticeable and the content and technicality was far higher in this routine compared to TVCC.
they definitely did not get robbed. the days were split 25% on the first day and 75% on the second. even though they hit perfectly day one it counts for less than half of their score. you can’t fall on day 2 and expect to win.
I think TVCC was technically more difficult stunting and tumbling, and even without the mistake, TVCC looked much cleaner on their hits. This just wasn’t Navarros day. A mistake is a mistake whether it’s glaring or not.
Nah, TVCC won that fair and square! Compare 0:51 (Gil on left) with what they were supposed to do on the right. That's very noticeable. JUDGES NOTICE EVERYTHING (lol) Those two teams were neck and neck, with day 2 being the most important! No room for mistakes.
I'm a former cheerleader and dancer and I couldn't see the mistake they handled it really well but something about TVCC I just cant put my finger on like I like this routine better but idk what it is I see why TBCC won however based on attitude Navarro should've won
I hate how cheer put like 30 seconds of the routine on the show. It only showed Gill messing up. I waited all season to see it and had to just watch it on UA-cam anyways. the show is more focused on drama this season instead of the sport itself I feel like
i actually feel like TVCC won because their routine was a lot better & much more fun to watch. their aggression sold it for me! this is just my opinion
@@oliviaperrone6879 I see it now. I feel so bad for the girl that thinks they lost bc of her. A stunt consists of several people, not just the one on top. Even with the mistake, I think they still should’ve won. That routine was mind blowing!
Just watched both performances (Navarro and TVCC) and yeah, this was better, Navarro has a lot of energy and trics and dance, but they are all together always, there is no space between them, while Trinity flyers were so much higher in the air, and used the space better, you can see them occupying the whole space
they didn't win because they didn't have jerry, ledarius, morgan, lexi, sherbern, ali. they would've blown out tvcc last year. such a shame that team couldn't compete. and they barely lost.
By the time they were able to get to Daytona after covid shut it down the year before, everyone else had graduated or left (Morgan Sherbs Jade, Lexi, LaDarius)
The uniforms are so dark. You just see white shoes flipping around. Just seemed a bit chaotic... Didn't know where to look...I don't know how the judges judge these. I think they spread themselves too thin after season 1 and it showed. The lack of teamwork from the beginning.... Just glad they had a competition for them to even participate in.
This was not on Gill at all and I had to watch it a couple of times to actually notice the slight mistake. Even with flawless execution, Navarro wouldn’t have beat the routine TVCC pulled off.
I just feel bad for the other teams in this category. They are basically battling for 3rd place. Can you imagine if TVCC and Navarro combined forces and had a super squad?!!!
@@crownjules I saw that after looking up the preliminary schedule…then I was like, what’s the point? Stay in Texas and let the judges come to you! Oh well, it’s a fun, albeit, expensive trip to Florida. I guess if they get Grand Champion that makes it a bigger deal. I don’t know…it seems like a lot of money and work to be competing against one other team.
Messed up Netflix put all the spotlight on Gil. It’s a group stunt, it wasn’t her fault alone. Also crazy how I didn’t even notice it until I read the comments. My eyes weren’t even drawn to it since it was on the side. Amazing how well they continued on and hit the rest of the routine.
right! like when they put gil's name on the screen right after her stunt fell i was like damn netflix really did her dirty basically putting all the blame on her. but gil's stunt is what did in fact cost them the win so they showed the truth
Idk if it’s everyone’s cup of tea..but I believe in manifestation (& nationals superstitions..former NDA competitor) but I wish 1000x the show wouldn’t have asked her her fears:( Gill hit that stunt so many times before💔
love navarro but Honestly the mistake is noticeable to a trained eye but besides that tvcc choreo and energy was just so different even if both teams did it perfect both days the winning result would still be the same they were just that good
I love Cheer and I love watching both Navarro and Trinity Valley and have now watched each full Day 2 2021 routine on UA-cam multiple times. I have to say that despite the isolated drop, Navarro should have taken it this year - the Navarro routine was just more visually appealing, more cohesive, and more challenging. Not knocking TVCC in any way, they are great too but Navarro's routine was epic.
I don't know how you ever get use to all your hair flying in your face. Doesn't that make it hard to see? I guess its something you just get use to. I never see a short haired cheerleader though lol
I dont understand how they didn’t win? Their synchronicity and timing with the music was better than trinity’s? But trinity’s routine in general was more captivating to watch so who knows I’m not a professional haha but please someone tell me where they messed up I can’t see it!?
In our country, Competition has different judges for every category and that is where they are assigned to look at (jumps, tumbles, pyramids, dance, etc.)- not with the overall appearance of the group.
tvcc got a 1.75 deduction first day, and they are so disrespectful! but navarro hits zero the first day and makes one tiny mistake and only get .75 deduction and still loses? they got robbed…
I miss hearing “ITS A DAWG EAT DAWG WORLD” 😂😂

Props to Gill for continuing to perform at a 100% and for hitting everything else I would get in my head tbh. She’s a true cheerleader & champ!

The show definitely made it seems more dramatic, cause they slow moed. I didn’t even notice when the mess up with Gil at first. Props to her continuing the routine at 110%!
They made the mistake look way more noticeable on the documentary… but straight up… this team got robbed. They still should have come first. It was barely noticeable and the content and technicality was far higher in this routine compared to TVCC.
they definitely did not get robbed. the days were split 25% on the first day and 75% on the second. even though they hit perfectly day one it counts for less than half of their score. you can’t fall on day 2 and expect to win.
no tvcc was cleaner with more difficult stunts and tumbling
@@oliviaperrone6879 i respectfully disagree. they broke down the math literally to show you the point system.
THE STRESS I GOT FROM WATCHIJG THIS
I hate how everyone kept on bringing up Gil’s mistake, like okay she got the point
How and why did her stunt fall. I keep replaying trying to see…
I'm a former cheerleader and dancer and I couldn't see the mistake they handled it really well but something about TVCC I just cant put my finger on like I like this routine better but idk what it is I see why TBCC won however based on attitude Navarro should've won
WE LOVE YOU GIL YOU ARE INCREDIBLE AND TALENTED THE ROUTINE LOOKED GREAT!
i think the choreographer for Navarro in 2019 went to TVCC for 2021 season
Watched twice still didn't see Gill fall
She was awesome in the show I definitely don't think it was her fault
Fall was at 0:50… gosh I feel so bad for her!
i cant find where gill fell?!?
0:50
50 seconds in on the left. She is so cute lol. I felt so bad for her
I simply cannot find where she fell because everything is so amazing, and yet they all felt so bad about it😭😭😭
I hate how cheer put like 30 seconds of the routine on the show. It only showed Gill messing up. I waited all season to see it and had to just watch it on UA-cam anyways. the show is more focused on drama this season instead of the sport itself I feel like
Fr
i actually feel like TVCC won because their routine was a lot better & much more fun to watch. their aggression sold it for me! this is just my opinion
i feel like they did better on the netflix one in 2019 then now
Yeah me too I feel like they were lost this season so they lost
And i though the girl dropped? Day 2?
@@flexmasterlee1017 52 seconds
Where’s the mistake I didn’t see it at all lol they did amazing as well, I also think the uniforms did not pop
Where was the mistake?! I watched the Netflix show and cannot see the mistake in this video.
it’s in their first stunt sequence , the stunt to the far left. i think it’s ab 50 seconds in , it’s pretty noticeable.
@@oliviaperrone6879 I see it now. I feel so bad for the girl that thinks they lost bc of her. A stunt consists of several people, not just the one on top. Even with the mistake, I think they still should’ve won. That routine was mind blowing!
@@adrianeblank1 they did lose because of gills fall. The scores were separated by like .2 points and that fall cost them .75
I didn’t even notice Gil’s stunt fall tvccs routine was just better that year
Where was the fall?
0:50 the far left tower on our left
Wait wait i thought gill gonna fall somewhere butt WHERE????!!!!
OMGGGG YALL ATEEEEEEE OH MY
Just watched both performances (Navarro and TVCC) and yeah, this was better, Navarro has a lot of energy and trics and dance, but they are all together always, there is no space between them, while Trinity flyers were so much higher in the air, and used the space better, you can see them occupying the whole space
they didn't win because they didn't have jerry, ledarius, morgan, lexi, sherbern, ali. they would've blown out tvcc last year. such a shame that team couldn't compete. and they barely lost.
The lil music is so cute hahaha
does anyone know if sherbs was in this routine?
I don't think so. I don't think she made mat this year.
Or she graduated last year.
She had gone to tech
By the time they were able to get to Daytona after covid shut it down the year before, everyone else had graduated or left (Morgan Sherbs Jade, Lexi, LaDarius)
@@MySTiCTiNKeRBeLL yeah i just watched the second season where they explained everything
I like Navarros better but the trinity school def seemed a lot cleaner .
I didn't even see the mistake here but on Netflix it made it seem like a huge catastrophe
They are the only 2 schools in their division 😂
@@crownjules I saw that after looking up the preliminary schedule…then I was like, what’s the point? Stay in Texas and let the judges come to you! Oh well, it’s a fun, albeit, expensive trip to Florida. I guess if they get Grand Champion that makes it a bigger deal. I don’t know…it seems like a lot of money and work to be competing against one other team.
I didn’t even notice the mistake
Messed up Netflix put all the spotlight on Gil. It’s a group stunt, it wasn’t her fault alone. Also crazy how I didn’t even notice it until I read the comments. My eyes weren’t even drawn to it since it was on the side. Amazing how well they continued on and hit the rest of the routine.
right! like when they put gil's name on the screen right after her stunt fell i was like damn netflix really did her dirty basically putting all the blame on her. but gil's stunt is what did in fact cost them the win so they showed the truth
Came here to see if I could see the mistake. Nope!!! Not even a little.
it’s so obvious though☹️ 50 seconds far left and then the far left of the pyramid after 2.00 goes down early
I know nothing about cheerleading but watching this routine, it is very boring compared to tvcc
Idk if it’s everyone’s cup of tea..but I believe in manifestation (& nationals superstitions..former NDA competitor) but I wish 1000x the show wouldn’t have asked her her fears:( Gill hit that stunt so many times before💔
i love payton
love navarro but Honestly the mistake is noticeable to a trained eye but besides that tvcc choreo and energy was just so different even if both teams did it perfect both days the winning result would still be the same they were just that good
that being said for 2022 it was vice versa and vey clear navarro deserved this year
Gill’s mistake was obvious on the show but I barely see it here
I love Cheer and I love watching both Navarro and Trinity Valley and have now watched each full Day 2 2021 routine on UA-cam multiple times. I have to say that despite the isolated drop, Navarro should have taken it this year - the Navarro routine was just more visually appealing, more cohesive, and more challenging. Not knocking TVCC in any way, they are great too but Navarro's routine was epic.
I think this is true yes, both did amazing and have great talent but Navarro's performance was better having watched them both clearly
Way better routine and so much more fun to watch. I agree.
I don't know how you ever get use to all your hair flying in your face. Doesn't that make it hard to see? I guess its something you just get use to. I never see a short haired cheerleader though lol
Can’t win em all
I kinda feel like they still should have won lol
Same but it already happened
I dont understand how they didn’t win? Their synchronicity and timing with the music was better than trinity’s? But trinity’s routine in general was more captivating to watch so who knows I’m not a professional haha but please someone tell me where they messed up I can’t see it!?
0:50 look to the left someone fell, not saying that’s the only reason they lost but it did play a part
@@jamilak2260 just goes to show how intricate and precise these routines are, i didnt even notice!
they should've won idc what y'all say
I didnt even see the fall/mistake! WTH?! They did a fantastic job to me. If I cant see it, how did the judges? Narrvora should've won!
"If I cant see it, how did the judges?" The judges know what to look for.
i'm sure the judges who do this for a living are better at spotting mistakes than you girl...
In our country, Competition has different judges for every category and that is where they are assigned to look at (jumps, tumbles, pyramids, dance, etc.)- not with the overall appearance of the group.
They should have won, they hit on both days.. Trinity 1st day they had a missed tumbling pass and missed lifts..
they dropped at 52 seconds so no, they didn’t hit
Yeah but it was only 25% the first day one mistake on the second day and you lose everything because it’s 75% of overall score.
0:50 far left stunt falls. it’s unnoticeable until you’re looking at it because they got right back into it
tvcc got a 1.75 deduction first day, and they are so disrespectful! but navarro hits zero the first day and makes one tiny mistake and only get .75 deduction and still loses? they got robbed…
tvcc routine was just overall better tho😭
it’s bc they fell on day 2, which was 75% if they had that fall on day1 they would’ve won!
Y’all obviously failed math in HS.. i don’t understand what the hell ya’ll don’t get about day 2 being worth 75%
what disrespect gotta do with it it’s what you do on the mat that determines your score
ROBBED
nope
