Valentina would you consider doing a segment on ceiling fans or fans with lights and what type would look ok with different room styles. We live in the desert where air conditioning with fans are so important but soooo ugly.

I’ve been making small changes since this year started! New knobs on our dresser, new couch pillows, new throws, candles, vases (thank you H&M!), cleaning my windows, washing down my kitchen cabinets, tidying up my master bedroom, etc. Lot’s more to do (mostly outside, but it will get done!!!!) Loved these tips Valentina!
Living minimalist is so peaceful for me. But I do enjoy what others choose for their personal decor. Everyone should feel secure their space (home)

I would love to see content around kitchen styling...especially around kitchen mats. I want comfort (cushioned mats) but style is important
I’ve made my own honey do list for around the house. Since starting my DIY reno in June last year, I do as much as I can with things I have around the house (which has been a lot) and choose to spend a little money on paint and tools. It’s been worth every cent. Decluttering is so powerful and has restored my soul. It may not be perfect but I’m doing what I can when I can and being kind to myself.
Hei igjen Valentina! In Norway and The Nederlands the trend now is to paint everything ...ceiling walls trim doors...everything in the same colour 😮. I must say I almost become sick to my stomach. I feel like I get choked in a powder box. I go with the classic rule; ceiling, trims and doors in white(ish) and tones on walls. I believe that "lifts" my eyes and the room feels spacious. But I have done the same "crazy" as yu...I painted the fireplace in stoneBrown and its stunning 😊

I think you're on to something about how we are an "instant gratification" generation. And we are paying for it. It's a very good reminder that creating a home is a process, and I believe rooms should look collected, heirlooms, antiques, vintage fabrics and furniture and personal objects included. I also agree that small, simple "glow-ups" like updating some aspects of the home can have a huge impact. I have to disagree with you over the faux florals and greens. IMO, which of course is not anything but my opinion, they cheapen the space and are absolutely not more sustainable- full of "forever" chemicals which will eventually fill up the landfills. So much more elevating to clip some things from your yard or grow perennials that you can use in your home over all the seasons! Just my thoughts.
In ikea my mom said “ugh! I hate faux plants!” They were actually the real plant section under artificial lighting and she was flabbergasted.
I think it’s silly we are so high brow about faux greenery when they are becoming so good and of course so practical and we can’t always even easily tell real vs fake

Hi! I just painted my office Cracked Pepper and turned it into a den instead that’s moody and plush. I love it, my partner loves it, everyone loves it. I bought new furniture, but really hunted for good sales and it took me several months It’s my favorite room.
We are on a fixed budget so we are saving for new carpet for the downstairs.

I’d love to have a power washing window cleaning business. I’m a retired cleaning lady now nanny but I love to make homes sparkle! I’m constantly decluttering. But then I go to goodwill and buy more crystal and cut grass. Hubby had to move out, “It’s all for the cause Dear!” Good stuff!!!!

I think for a lot of us these days that may be on a fixed income can save a little at a time if we have our eye on something like a light fixture that may be a little more expensive. Estate sales can have some great finds. Like you said don't think about doing everything at once, Rome wasn't built in a day. I’ve been painting one room, one wall at a time. Then I do the ceiling last, when all is out of the way. You shouldn’t try and do it all at once, especially when you have stuff in there. You have to put it somewhere when you are painting. If you clear out the whole room, it gets… complicated and intimidating. If you just start small, you build momentum as you go. Before you know it, it’s all done!
Also, don’t get caught up in _OVER_ prepping. It’s a great way to stall when you’re simply too chicken to _actually_ get it done!
I love you…but you need to come back down to earth with these prices. $18 for ONE hydrangea stem! $90 for a tiny vase? Most people don’t have that kind of cash.
I went to Home Goods and bought them for $25
Even if you have the $ what a waste of money. I’d rather donate money to organizations or worthy causes. Nothing in life is permanent!

Great video V, little by little is how I’ve been able to transform my home into the way I want it after our renovations and I THOUGHT that I wanted the HAMPTONS STYLE, But, after watching your videos I realised That I Didn’t Want That At All, so I’ve been going from room to room just changing out the decor in each room, I already had the canvas of the paint on the walls, it was just How I Was Styling Our Home and it Feels So Liberating to do it this way, I have two beautiful Boucle chairs in my tv room with two beautiful black cushions sitting on them and I have Boucle cushions on our bed, makes all the difference just the little things. V. I need guidance on “closed storage.” You use RH but I live in an apartment so need more flexibility in sizes. When does it sit on the floor to anchor a space? When should it be on legs? Does it have to match other furniture legs? Huge investment pieces if I buy RH. I LOVE your aesthetics and design. TY.
Legs are good for lightness, but too many legs, especially long ones all over the place, can start to look busy. It’s good to have an even mix. Short legs are a good go-to if you’re just not sure.

Well, I just bought 2 Baldwin Brass lever door knobs and locks on Amazon. Cost me $600.00 dollars. I wanted to change all of my handles, but it was going to be too costly, and I already had all them everywhere else. They are the shiny brass, but what are you gonna do? Too much money to change.😮
I do feel rushed. Probably because we’re in our 5th new build home (plus multi homes we remodeled) and now I’m aged & tired. How much time is left? AND this last so called custom builder left us with a lot of re-work.🤦🏼♀️

Beware of Craigslist or fb marketplace...please people be careful. Bed bugs are almost to impossible to detect on sofa or upholstered chairs. My poor daughter lived in in apartment and they went thru the ductwork. They had so much thrown out because they went thru every room. It's so hard and so expensive to get rid of. I would rather save for 10 years or use couch slip covers. Please think twice. Especially if the sofa is sitting in their garage.
Busts me up when HGTV mentions how much flooring is for the show, not even in the same ballpark of reality.

the key to making pillows on the sofa look lux you buy an insert that is bigger than the pillow cover OR you use 2 inserts in one pillow cover. gives them a super plump pillow! it was what you do in showrooms (i used to work in one) the showrooms also do that with duvet inserts , using 2 in a duvet cover to make it all look like a fluffy cloud. Tricks of the trade 🙂

I realize the company you are promoting is probably one of the best out there but all of a sudden it seems like you’ve fallen in love with Faux flowers. If I am correct, you would please recommend a 8ft or taller faux tree that you absolutely love, I would appreciate it.
I’ve been following Valentina since 2020 and she used to advice against faux flowers and express how it was worth it to put effort in live plants but now she gets paid to promote plastic plants that harm the environment lol her style went from fresh Parisian inspired to showy American. Still enjoy her videos though and her style is inspirational! She’s just a business person.
