  • For less that 14p a stand I’ve found this hack for action figures to be extremely useful. So I figured I’d share it here too. Works with Marvel Legends, Neca, Star Wars Black Series, Mezco, Marvel Select etc
    Enjoy.

    First, thanks for the video One Sixth, really helped me out. For anyone thinking of doing this with Star Wars Black Series figures, it 100% works I've done all my figures now, however there have been a few figures where the magnet is too small for the peg hole. I don't have all the Black Series figures, but the ones that I had issues with were; Commander Cody, The Armourer, Cad Bane and Boba Fett. I had to stick them in place to get them to hold the magnet.

    Cool to see other people using this method. I talked about it a few years ago after getting some similar ideas from another individual on some forums. It's an efficient and low cost method of displaying things.

    Would you know what size magnet would fit in a 3.75 inch Star Wars figure?

  • @joevigil6156
    @joevigil6156 3 роки тому +2

    So it’s pretty expensive, but this would look so slick with the Expand-A-Shelf stainless steel version at The Container Store. Look it up!

    I have been trying to use this Magnet idea for a bit over a week and am failing. I managed to get ahold of the 3x3mm, but not the 4x3. I just found a supplier for those 4x3's today but after struggling with the 3x4's... I dont' want to try yet. So far: the strongest 3x4 I have found will only stick to 1 of the 3 types of washers found at HomeDepot and Lowes. And it's very weak. I decided to order Neo rare earth magnets that are the size of washers thinking that Id pair them as the weight to the 3x3. The magnetic field is around the edges and not the center... so they just repell when on the center of either side. If I could just find some washers like you have presented, I would probably be in good shape. But so far, it's been a bust. Even with the washers on Amazon that the seller guaranteed would stick to a magnet.. they are so weak.

      With a few figures i used a small hand drill further up the foot and made another hole, then inserted a second magnet. That sometimes helped.

    Is there anyway to make a hole in your figurine to fit the magnet in?

    I find making holes in the feet (if they don’t have them already) impossible - even with my electric drill!

    Is it possible to take the magnets out eventually if you need to?

    • @ONESIXTHCAVE
      @ONESIXTHCAVE  3 роки тому +2

      I have done previously by warming the feet up and using tweezers to remove them. But it is fiddly and not guaranteed to work with all of them.
