    Honestly, I feel like a lot of the people who complain about the price are younger crafters who maybe have a skewed concept of the cost of living. As Ruth points out, you are getting excellent value for your money and I honestly believe that for a beginner crafter this would be much less overwhelming than trying to purchase things yourself.
    When I started clay, I had a $100 gift voucher from a craft store that I decided to use to set myself up with clay and tools. I then contributed around another $50-$60 out of my own pocket. On top of that, I spent hours watching you tube videos and researching in order to know what I was doing. Honestly, if This kit had been available then, I wouldn't have hesitated to buy it. Yes, there may be cheaper items out there, but for such a quality item that not only gives you all the products you need but also comprehensive tutorials, I think this is actually very reasonably priced.
    Sorry about the long comment, I just wanted to share my opinion!

      Wtf does the cost of living have anything to do with a clay kit. You definitely could buy all this stuff separately for much cheaper. I'm not young or a beginner and find the price of this ridiculous for the little amount of actual clay provided. You don't need this fancy kit. I really didn't find it hard or stressful to but the stuff I needed to start off with polymer clay.

      Tbh, I do not think that this is the best starter kit. I started with a klutz kit, and that came with a big book of ideas, and two tools that you need for beginners. You don’t need all of those tools, and for a beginner it’s best not to have to mix everything. Also there’s all of those mini perfect things! You can easily get discouraged.

    This is a great kit ! I’ve worked in polymer clay for over 10 years I made one of a kind dolls out of polymer clay . Now expanding my artist skills to many other things . So this kit lets me do that,thank you

    in all honestly, for a beginner to spend almost $250 on a kit like that it's kinda outrageous. I understand she worked hard on that kit but if it was much more affordable than people will buy it.

    I have looked at AI's site many, many, many times in the past and have always been impressed with the work that she does in miniature. To be honest - it seems like she has taken more than a few classes from Tomo Tanaka of NuNu's House fame. Her work is along that same style - and he does detail like nobody else. The Pocket Kitchen is packaged beautifully and when you opened it up to show the tools - man, oh, man - I couldn't believe it was THAT detailed and THAT complete. I think the price is right, to be honest - as a miniaturist myself, I know the cost of those tools she included and while you CAN probably buy everything cheaper (finding sales, using coupons, and catching clearances or deals) - you still have to factor in the time, research, cost, etc etc of designing, filming, editing, and planning MANY step-by-step tutorials. I can't even imagine how much time it must have taken her to perfect her techniques and shoot all those videos. It's WELL WORTH the cost. None of those tools are exclusive except, perhaps, the clay roller system she uses. There are other systems like that, but hers is compact and unique. The other materials are sourced and included from other well known craft brands (Sculpey, Fimo, Kemper). But just the fact that she includes everything you need from the chalk pastels to the glaze is amazing. I have most of these tools, but I would pay $170 for this kit - the workmanship is so wonderful. Thanks for the unboxing and the review.

    • @KawaiiStudioCrafts
      @KawaiiStudioCrafts  6 років тому

      Thank you so much for your comment, it's nice to see someone take the time to understand the cost. As I said in the video I probably wouldn't buy it because I'm cheap and wouldn't need a lot of the materials but that roller is a god send I use it SO much. I think this kit has a place and people need to stop being so judgemental without realising what has gone in to something and what the cost actually includes past the physical things!!

    I'm honestly sooooooo impressed by the attention to detail and the thought and care that was put into this kit! I want the levelers so badly! And I appreciate how the clay are all Premo.

    • @LittleAmyHe
      @LittleAmyHe 8 років тому

      I understand that the price is a lot to spend all at once and that it's not a "value" buy, but it's definitely not overpriced in my eyes.
      I don't think people understand how much thought, time, and money it takes just to design the box. She could've just chucked it all in a regular box but she designed a box where everything has its own place, so it's extremely organized and nothing gets damaged during shipping. You can even use it as storage which is so great for a beginner.

    I'm so excited to get to see a video of this kit!! I decided not to buy for pretty much the reason you said; I'm by no means a beginner and already have pretty much all of the tools, but the kit is so beautiful that it was incredibly tempting. Design nerd problems. Thank you for bringing up the amount of work that goes into making the tutorials! Like you, I priced out the materials cost, and I'm embarrassed to say while I included the time to design/pack the kit, I didn't even think of that. She's so talented that I really would pay for the videos alone just to learn from her!

    Looks like a great kit, NOT for a begginer.
    If u r starting out with polymer clay, u r not sure if u really wanna do that, if u r gonna like it, or whatever.
    I would not spend 600 reais ( im brazilian ) in a polymer clay kit, cause as a begginer, i think u should spend a little less, so u make sure u like polymer clay so u can buy more expensive stuff
    Does not matter if it is 230 singapore dolars, or 190 dolars, i would also not pay

      I use those wooden craft sticks that look like tongue depressors. Just secure them to each side of your work surface & voila! You can also make different thicknesses by stacking & gluing them together =)

    I understand why people wouldn’t wanna spend the money on this because as beginners they aren’t really committed to polymer clay creations so they worry if it’s gonna be a waste of time but this kit is great for beginners because you get the basics you need I remember when I was a beginner at polymer clay it was so hard to find the right tools and the right tutorials to watch but this kit includes everything which makes it’s a little less overwhelming to the person. I understand that not everyone can afford it but there are cheaper alternatives as well for example the Arteza Polymer clay set has the basic tools and additional 42 colors of clay and it’s very inexpensive! And some you tubers you can watch for tutorials are- Kawaii studios, Creative Rachy, Sugarcharmshop, lollipop deco, Andisa Charms and many more. Hope this helped 😊

    Interesting kit and the rolling tile is interesting. I live for my clay rolling machine though. I frequently use level 7-9 and the rolling tile in this kit didn't have those. I don't mind that my 'pasta machine' takes up a lot of space. So does the table vise which I also have attached to my crafting table. :)
    One thing it should have included is at least one clay smoothing tool with the silicone tips. That is still one thing on my list I want to get but I plan to get a whole set of them in assorted sizes. :D

    If I assembled this kit it seems it would be cheaper. The clay cutters in my opinion are the nicest things you can get which aren't as readily available whilst the rolling tile can be DIY'ed and the other pieces bought individually, so it really is not worth it for me.
