BEST Fest was largely popular because of the drum circles around the fire at night with workshops for djembe, djun, and frame drum during the day. Many fine drummers sat in at night including Mamoudou Konate Simbo, Remmi Nicole, Yahaya Kabore, Clyde K Willams Jr, Floyd Joynes, Dave Miller, Cheryl Miller Glover, Stephen Hoog, Karen Lawson, and others.
