Dungeons and Dragons is a role-playing game in which a group of players create and play out the activities of characters within a fantasy world. This world is controlled by another player, the Dungeon Master, who arbitrates actions and provides challenges and circumstances for the players to interact with.

@OrionJZed I think you're a bit confused they are not exclusive to elves, both halflings and gnomes have pointed ears as well due to their shared sylvan/fey origins and thats not including all the other groups eirh pointed ears from the aquatic races to draconic, infernal, elemental, Astral, the list of groups pointed ears denote is way too nonspecific imo, I could be wrong but I don't think this is a pun esp since it didn't specify race did it, I might have missed it

Playing evil characters are some of my favorite dnd memories. In particular, a blood Cleric who worshipped a God of pain and torture. Betraying the most the party, just to also betray the BBEG because I can't have him spreading undeath across the planet and stopping all the pain, was quite satisfying.

    • @chameleonx9253

Who said anything about evil? Willy Wonka is a cannibal who murders children with insane death traps and bakes them into his chocolate, and he enslaved an entire race of African pygmies to work in his factory (almost certainly in violation of immigration laws), whom he pays in said cannibal chocolate.
If we assume the one shot was based on the book and not the movies, those players were still the good guys!😂

We were still recovering from WW2, so we were eager to accept talented people from other countries. I played a child-like sorceress, my spouse was a giant horned lion barbarian who was terrified of all things magical, our host was a warforged fighter who wielded axes, our other friend was a bard who was cursed to be a scarecrow. We all came up with these ideas separately, and they are in line with our normal play style. We were actually people from another realm, but somehow got transported to the one we were playing in during a storm. The GM added a werewolf PC whose night-day cycle was switched (wolf by day, human by night), and the first town was full of tiny people, and an evil sorceress who threatened to kill us, but was scared away by a good sorceress who recommended that we see the Great and Powerful Wizard to get us back to our realm. It took us getting to THE FRIGGIN EMERALD CITY before I made a joke about this being a Wizard of Oz campaign. To which the GM threw up her hands and exclaimed "FINALLY! One of you idiots got it!"

exactly today i was offered to watch a DND session but i didn't have a character for it so while the DM was showing me what the party had to fight i said wait, i could play as the mini boss in the fight and he said yeah sure and sent me the creature sheet. this particular party had to fight 4 elementals i was fire and got to pick my weapon, a sword than can turn into a whip called the Karakuri which you might recognize the name of. this is also where this elemental got its name and as I was fighting one of the players, he somehow re wrote my entire core or whatever it was called, cutting off my allegiance to the main enemy that summoned me and basically gave me a will to think. So I killed the other elementals to "free their souls" and I am now apart of the party under the guise of "he want to free other elementals in the world and get revenge on the sorcerer who repressed his mind with a command to kill". so later today or tomorrow im gonna be making a proper character sheet of a slightly debuffed version of what i was in the fight so i can match the rest of the party.
So i just saved myself from making a character

Well I remember we were in these elven woods were the trees were considered sacred but I was the only one that knew this so I passed a note to the DM saying, "I'm trying to intentionally miss." Without saying anything else. He looked at me funny but was like okay and we continued. Rouge, again just being a dick, I told him id bet him 10 gold pieces that I could hit one of the trees with an arrow before he could. The look of on my DMs face was sinister since he knew what I was playing now. We both take our shot at the tree, I rolled high enough to miss and he rolled high enough to hit. He was then immediately surrounded by elves that then proceeded to throw him in jail, and decided to execute his character 😂 he asked for us to break him out but we all decided na, wasnt worth the risk

My player, a tiefling wizard, decided to cast Burning Hands point blank into a childs mouth because the child had a frog and my wizard wanted a pet.
He also did cast Bone Chill into a guys throat basically fisting him

Lads at my table know I’ve never DM’d. They want me to “because they think it would be cool.” So I’m working on a Fallout New Vegas based campaign. Keeps me from writing too much. Hopefully it can be as interesting as however that Charlie and the Chocolate Factory one shot went.

Willy Wonka doesnt pay his oompa loompas. He keeps them in company quarters purely to work. Wonka deserved that- the oompa loompas didnt.

Golden Eggs? Darn, you went with the 1971 movie instead of the original book or the 2005 one.

We had one where we ended up in Willy world with penis people and we had to fight a giant penis dragon and then one of us tried running away but just before he did that we made it so instead of rolling a dice we would vote for all in favour, so when we went through the portal back to earth we threw a tsar bomba at him and destroyed earth and then it became Star Wars themed and we had a Death Star, one of my favourite campaigns
