Very cool, glad I found this video. Went to camp there in 6th grade back in 1976. We called it “Camp Colby” then.

Awesome trip... Thank you for the invite, I really appreciate it. You and Joey both made that possible. I had such a blast. Next car camping trip, I will be bringing the dutch ovens. I owe everyone a meal for the buffet... I didn't want to cook my lame Weinerschnitzel chili dogs. Great video. Thank you again for everything. Take care Alan. 🇺🇲

I don't know how many times I've passed that sign for Colby on Upper Big Tujunga, but every time I did I always wondered what was there. And now thanks to you and Joey I know. What an awesome experience. Also, loved that pic of the amphitheater at Colby from 1976. Would be cool to hear from any of them of what it was like back then. Cheers!

WOW, what a treat. You know I am also a big fan of John W Robertson. I knew of this place but never thought I would see it. Joey really pulled one out of his hat on this one. It was totally unexpected and I appreciate the peek behind the curtain. Wouldn't it be amazing if somebody could afford to buy this place and return it to its original glory. Properly advertised, I bet it would be a real money maker.

Someone should save this place before it completely get decayed. Thanks for the experience and thanks also to Joey!

Pharraoh, I saw the sign the 'Hermitage' and does that have anything to do with the Hermit that had a crude stone home in the Big Santa Anita Canyon ? I can't find much info about the Hermit. Do you have any links or articles about the Hermit. Interesting that they named a waterfall after him aka Hermit Falls. If I'm not mistaken, the Hermit's cabin would have been where the dam is in Big Santa Anita Canyon. Any leads about the Hermit would be much appreciated.

I’d love to buy Colby Ranch but I would need to find a lot of gold first. I don’t think they would consider a trade for a gold mine.

      A. he doesnt get paid. B. how can 1 man maintain 120 acres? He has the road re opened, dozens of huge trees had fell and are removed, all the electrical is up and running, pluming too. the pool that was a half empty swamp a month before, was cleaned and filled, spotless, The guy is a 1 man crew and still, does more work than your average city crew in a month
