    Our paint pens will work great, we'd suggest you give them a try so you don't get the smudging you experienced with this install. When these discolor after 1-2 weeks, you can upgrade to our permanent product that will last the lifetime. Save yourself the time of re-applying paint pens and pick up our rubber tire lettering!

      Lmaooo for $100+ yall are tripping tripping. $10-15 worth of paint markers will last an entire set of tires life. And you can do it everytime you wash the car. If you really love your car then it's not even a chore and actually get satisfaction from doing it.

      BrianTakesPhotos the Sharpie colored lettering is holding up ok. The acrylic painted letters are not as bright as they used to be. I'll be doing a video on it soon

      wade wade the orange I was using only came in acrylic and not oil based. That and the acrylic spread easier on the grooved hankook logo for some reason

    Why can't you use the oil-based marker on the lettering with the lines in them?

    • @dverdin55
      @dverdin55  7 років тому

      Gavin Cates the paint flaked off almost immediately after it dried for me. That was only if I could paint the surface at all. But I think it has more to do with my skills in painting the lettering than the paint itself. I'm going to give it another shot and see if I can make it stick this time.

      sir_dannyv sweet, thank you for your help, I just wanted to make sure before I try it myself so it doesn't look bad when I do it. I'll make sure to buy both kinds of markers

    • @dverdin55
      @dverdin55  7 років тому

      Gavin Cates no problem! Make sure the tires are extremely clean and dry before you start and you should be good 👍🏽

    • @gavincates5979
      @gavincates5979 7 років тому

      sir_dannyv one more thing, how many markers did you have to use for all 4 tires?

    • @dverdin55
      @dverdin55  7 років тому

      Gavin Cates I bought 3 white oil based pens but ended up only using 1 and about a quarter of the other one. The first one I used still had juice in it but I decided to switch because it was running low. I only bought one of the orange acrylic pens and I still had left over paint.

    • @dverdin55
      @dverdin55  Рік тому

      Honestly, I wouldn't do it again. It doesn't last long. It cracks if you lay on the paint too thick and fades if you put too light of a coat. Tire stickers would be the way to go if you want lettering

    will be able to use tire shine after everything is done?

    • @dverdin55
      @dverdin55  7 років тому +1

      Toyota Incorporated Thats a good question. I think the oil based paint will be fine but the acrylic pair won't like the tire shine. I haven't tried it yet but now that you mentioned it, I'm going to try it. the worst that could happen would be yellowing of the white letters

    So if i do this what if i go to wash my tires will it come off?

    • @dverdin55
      @dverdin55  6 років тому +1

      Ninja Gaming the paint is pretty durable. It won't come off unless you're really trying to get it off or if you don't put it on right. I did a follow up video to this addressing your concerns as well

    • @dverdin55
      @dverdin55  7 років тому

      Jerry Cruz I used the sharpie pen. It is good enough to handle all 4 tires depending pin the amount of coats you use. I'm not sure if there are pens with bigger capacity

    how long does this last before fading etc?

    • @dverdin55
      @dverdin55  7 років тому +2

      it's been on almost a month now and the lettering I did with the sharpie is still holding up. The acrylic paint lettering isnt holding up well tbh. Sharpie paint is cracking but that most likely has to do with the fact that I did not paint the lettering while they were mounted on the car. There is also the fact that the tires were brand new and may have some of that mold resin on it trying to come off. I will be doing an update video about it soon

      I made a video about the durability of the paint here: ua-cam.com/video/PKEJqYTc5OQ/v-deo.html
      As far as length of durability is concerned, I'm not 100% sure. However, the paint is still holding up on my tires since I made this video.
