Fine conch gold crystal ring set with a natural 6.01ct fancy yellowish brown diamond in 22k.
The ring conjures up a new being, a trinity of a gold crystallised nugget, a conch shell, and its cradled diamond.
A diamond is not as rare as once imagined, but its origin and mining retain a passionate image.
Perhaps even more evocatively is the prospecting of gold, particularly when the specimen indicates an ‘ancient’ crystal over an ordinary nugget.
Not to mention the pithy of rare shells, a whole world out there hoisting these hoodlums from the ground.
These images form the backdrop of an unusual tension between the physis of minerals: diamond, gold, and shell.
The created specimen does not live in the everyday world, but it certainly does exist in the movement of ideas.
What one wouldn’t give for a thing as curious as a diamond + gold + conch specimen, dug from belly ground and only dusted off before bringing it home to your love!
The high fluorescence fancy diamond appears light yellow in daylight, and intensifies in low light or ambient light.
With its brown flanked by strong blue fluorescence, the yellow takes on a striking ‘golden’ display.
Taken with its cut showing a quarternity, the diamond’s display resembles the way of diamonds in old jewels: specifically, not champagne, not off white, not yellowish, but a glowing ‘golden’ brightness.
The diamond’s fire is literally ‘raised’ by the dramatic gold crystal, and the conch ‘hardened’ into gold as its top hat.
The band is formed by hand, a split trinity band set with diamonds sinking into its solid rings.
This statement size ring is very comfortable to wear, contoured under where it interfaces with skin.
This is a personal ring made in a perplexing way, as if a deja vu event, and one remembers a pre-existent knowledge about it.
The ring’s face spans 30mm by 13mm, weighing 26 grams.
Old single cut and rose cut diamonds weigh 1.1 ctw.
