My favorite neko worm is the zoom magnum finesse worm. It’s a little big but it is one of the best skipping worms I’ve ever thrown
I have found that Shrink Wrap Tubing does a very good job of extending the life of my worms, and at a substantially cheaper price than o-rings... and Shrink Wrap Tubing Comes In many colors too...
Nice job Tyler this is my favorite lure to use. On thing that works better is the vmc crossover ring. It has 2 holes in it. 1for wacky worm & the other is for neko rig. Definitely saves on baits. 👍
Have you done a free rig video yet? I would like to hear your take on the free rig and what/where to fish it! Thanks!
When it’s July in Florida and it’s balls hot, I use the Neko rig with a 4” zoom finesse worm and the VMC nail weight with the skirt material.
I use the Robo Worm for this technique. Same color and hook. Neko rig does work most times. But when it doesn't, I try the free rig instead of wacky rig. It's just my preference
I'm going to try these techniques. Thanks for sharing.
The Neko rig is my #1 dock skipping baits. It is one of 3 or 4 rods that are always on my deck from about April through October
I love it when people use the correct pronunciation of words. In the Japanese language, the rig known as neko is pronounced with a short e. It sounds like the candy Necco Wafers. It is not pronounced like the leg joint I just had surgery on (knee). The word neko means cat 🐈⬛.
Ne-co, like in necromancer. Not Knee-co like European short form of Nicolas.
Whether its a Neko rig or a Texas rig or whatever, I tend to use snap clips to make changing lures quicker and easier. My question is do bass shy away from extra tackle like a snap clip or do they just seem to ignore it and focus on hitting the lure presented to them? I haven't seen too many videos where an angler ties on snap clips and then quickly switch lures. They just seem to pick up one of their 15 rods all set up with different rigs and cast away.
Nice video. This one speaks to me. The Kinda Shaky rod is on list. Other fellers are using it with some success.
On my side of the lake, the fish aren’t giving the love to the mutilated margarita morning colors. Trying a few more colors is half the fun. Be good
Here in SoCal we burnt out the M.M.III color. I switched to Bold Bluegill and Baby Bluegill or Baby shad; getting on them in the 4" or larger Roboworms.
Always love your videos. Thank you for another great video. Best of luck to you out there.
I have all the tackle to fish this technique but have never caught a fish on it. I JUST caught my first Gika rig fish last week. 3 months ago I caught my first wacky rig fish.
Last year I caught my first shakey head fish and my first vibrating jig fish. Many of these new techniques don't initially work for me. I go back to hard baits, t-rig, and, DS.
Great video brother. I definitely need to step up my finese fishing game
A day I fished I kept looking around at other anglers where they got nothing an sadly stayed in a spot an I caught fish an was getting bites. Also used a kvd splash plopper an bass smashed the kvd splash plopper. I used a ton of lures an nothing. I even used jigs an whopper ploppers drop shot an nothing. I tied on the kvd splash plopper an got a bass 😀👍
If you are targeting small mouth bass would you have to change the size worm or hooks or does the 6 inch fat work work for smallmouth, or should I swap to 4.5 inch fat Roboworm?
I can watch the videos all day
Could you tell us which hook you're using in this video with the two weed guards? Looks good. Thanks
Great looking rig. Never tried this will have to.
@Ty I been throwing the zoom of coursenecko, but I recently got the XZone 6" MB fat finesse worm from lunkertext got like 8 packs and 2 queen tackle jigs. Anyways it floats like all of xzone but dude that worm necko rigged gas been killing it for me in ohio!
What is the weight you recommend for water less than 10ft ? Thanks
I dig the crocs my brother!
Great tips 👍👍👍
Also used a Texas rig a niko rig walking baits an jerkbaits also walking baits an nothing. I stayed on the same spot but when the kvd splash was tied on that's when my luck changed. Yes I wrote this in 2 parts so you wouldn't have to take a long time reading the same comment.
Good video again! Thanks!
I saw alike rattalebait on your robo clean up video do no what bait I'm taking about weight forward the line tie adjusted its self
What spinning reel are you using... is it a Daiwa
on Thursday this technique with a bottom hopper is gona be tested.
thanks
Rig it BWWK or Chiken rig style and it’ll be weedless! It’s just using an ewg hook in middle of the worm!
What boat are you using?
Does the neko hook itself make a huge difference? If i were to use a wacky hook instead and rig everything else the same would it still work?
No, most wacky hooks are short shanked; insufficient gap equals skin hooking and lost fish.
The Japanese guys def use wacky hooks and i trust them lol. Having said that i use the owner sniper which is basically this shape and it’s working for me 🤷🏼♂️
What size hook?????
Great video !
I love all the content! I know this is a crazy request but can you please please fish Peidmont lake and give tips for us Ohioans! Hope and pray you’ll consider this. Grateful!
You really need to check out the vmc wacky bands they got 2 hole 1 for neko 1 for wacky
What are the best techniques to locate bass in dirty water
I like baits that make a lot of noise . A spinnerbait with a Colorado blade , Chatterbait, buzzbait, paddle tail swimbait all work really well in dirty water
Good one
Trying it tomorrow morning with a Zman turbo craw.
Aarons blk magic is pretty solid too for the robo worms.
You'd hate Canada. On any given 10000 acre lake there might be 5 boats fishing and 2-3 of those for bass...
As always, I'm learning new techniques!
Can you use a nail
Funny, a lot of guys like a Neko rig because you can cover water with it 🤔
Take me fishing I'll meet you anywhere in Ohio
🤣
Not real branchy
Ummmm nope
But really what is important is incorporating this technique into your arsenal, not how it is pronounced. It's not a proper noun so let's get back to fishing.
Whoever says “Necko” is just wrong
Is it "knecko" as John Crews says or "KneeKo" as I've always said 🤔 lol
Another technique I really need to put more time in with . Just HATE fishing slow !! Lol
Agree but when there is a large number of bait in the water, the fake bait really has to appeal to them before it is a lost opportunity. Kind of like a long car or home buying sale...oh...oh...better get it...it's slipping away...TOO LATE, GONE!!
Also you can change your hook placement on the worm to give different actions. Hook the worm Closer to the head and the bait will glide down better. Hook in the center and the tends to spiral more as it falls, move the hook Closer to the tail and the bait will run away from the angler, especially if you hook the flat side of the worm. You can hop the worm off the bottom and it will nearly fall right back to where it was, great for bed fishing or when targeting isolated cover.
Huh that's crazy I never realized that
