And then you're an adult, you're out in the real world, life is changing from what it was in the middle of Ohio. When your lives change so much, stuff like this happens - Blaine was no longer some high schooler, there was probably still pain left from the first break-up, and considering WHY they broke up the first time - doubts. I love Klaine as much as the next person, but their ups and downs made sense. In the end they wee able to work through it and that's what matters.

But I feel Kurt broke up with him for good reason..living together is a huge commitment and they were continuously fighting if they had stayed together and gotten married they probably would have gotten a divorce a couple months later cuz they still had problems to work out...that break up was necessary so they could figure out their issues and what they really want..that's just my opinion though, but I'm really glad everything worked out for them and they ended up living a happy life together😊

Blaine should have tried to turn Sam gay senior year because after season 2 Kurt became a real asshole to Blaine and really took him for granted. I don't blame Blaine for anything that he did (cheating on Kurt in season 4, the porn on his computer and trying to get Kurt to eat more in season 5, dating Karofsky in season 6) because Kurt drove him to all of it bringing all of that toxicity into the relationship. Like damn learn to appreciate someone who would and has done anything for you and quit treating him like he's the problem.

It was also funny and original. S2 + 3 were watchable but they had their flaws. The only pairing that I have respect for is Brittanna. The only relationship where there was no sexual infidelity but genuine respect and love for each other, and where both partners dealt with their situations like adults. It's a shame because Darren Criss is an amazing actor but his character was completely butchered. And yes, I don't know why people think that Klaine poops rainbows and puppies. Frankly, I find their relationship repulsive. If you haven't, watch the Glee spoofs by SIMGM productions. They parody S2 and 3 and it's hilarious. They also make fun of Klaine and Blaine.

So many women commenting about how pissed they were that this scene happened. Do you forget that gay men aren't dolls that just smush together because you ship them? Kurt went to college to better himself and Blaine's shitty excuse for having sex with another man was because he was LONELY? Kurt never cheated on Blaine despite going through the same issues. THEN Blaine traps Kurt in commitment with a wedding proposal at 18 YEARS OLD?! Of course the relationship is going to go down! Marriage isn't a fucking game where you just whip it out as a last resort. And Blaine's proposal was the whole forced basis that they were even back together for an entire season. And just because you overcame bullying, or danced at prom, or sung an array of songs together that you just let someone treat you like crap. This scene wasn't Kurt being a random asshole. It was Kurt coming to his senses and the sensation of an impending wedding wore off. Blaine hadn't changed SINCE the cheating: He was jealous, was insecure, and he was immature. And that's fine at the age of 19/20. But he used Kurt's hard-earned progress emotionally and physically as a fault and that is fucked up. Blaine could have punched Kurt, and you women would have found a way to sympathize just to have Klaine happen.
That's what I also sort of despised. Glee really went too crazy with weddings. It painted this picture that weddings are the ultimate thing in life, and you have to be engaged in order to save yourself from break-ups. It was always, "We have to get married NOW! We have to be married before graduation! Or we have to be married by this time!" Christ. Most marriages, successful ones at least, hold relationships for 3-4 years before even proposal. The fiancee stage could last for 2 years even. Marriage at 19/20 when the other is 21/22 is psychotic and RARELY works. Some work, but definitely not with what characters Blaine and Kurt were.
Half of the people in the comment section have probably never been in a long-term relationship, and they don't understand that it's not fair to say "Kurt's not being fair to Blaine!!" or "Why would he break up with him?? That's awful." No, you can't say that because we haven't seen the whole story. We've seen bits and pieces through MONTHS of them being together. If Kurt felt like he couldn't take it anymore, then he couldn't take it anymore. And no one should have to apologize for not wanting to stay in a relationship anymore. That's no ones fault. Sure, maybe he should've realized that with a wedding on the way that a break up would kill Blaine, but what was he supposed to do? Continue to try and amke things work when in his heart he doesn't feel like it's worth it? Or that it's working. And don't even get me started about the ridiculousness of Blaine saying "I will never forgive you for this". I understand he's hurt and people say things like that when they're hurt, but he can't blame Kurt for feeling that they should break up when it hasn't been working for so long. That's not fair to anyone. I've been in this situation, and I didn't realize it at the time, but I've come to realize that you should always put yourself first. If both Blaine and Kurt's happiness and quality of life is decreasing because of their failing relationship, they need to call things quits before things get worse. People need to understand that.

Honestly, while this breakup was realistic and they DID need to break up since they got stuck in the rut of teenage sweethearts who never really grew together and were growing separately, the breakup was a good thing. The problem was that the writers fucked it up by having Blaine and Kurt go back together in a way that didn't make sense and made Blaine look spineless. Like.... no. I'd rather we get a glimpse of them both moving on (whether with new boyfriends or careers or whatever!) and just leave the rest up in the air rather than that rushed mess.
OK, lets just be real here. Kurt is freaking out about getting married, so he's harping on small things - like the thins you argue about but also deal with and find a compromise or an understanding of when you're married - to avoid the fact that they're making this big a commitment, and is tryign to end it now because he's scared that it'll end when they're married.

As I saw this the first time: Blaine: Do you even want this wedding? Do you even want to marry me? Me:OH SHIT! Don't say something wrong, KUUUUURT!😭 Kurt:Maybe I don't! Me:*totally dying*😭😭😭😭NOOOOOOOOOO😭😭 There they are! When are they finally going to marry? WHEN?😭❤️😂
All in all, Klaine was so toxic that the relationship made me feel sick. This is going to be long so prepare yourselves. I think it all started when season 3 came around that Klaine started to become a toxic relationship. First off, we had Blaine steal Kurt's part in the play even though he knew how badly Kurt needed it for his NYADA application. When Sebastian came around, he flirted with Blaine so strongly that even he himself was aware. And only after one time of informing Sebastian of him having a boyfriend, he let Sebastian go on to flirt with him even more. Throughout the third season, he never cared when Kurt expressed his anxiety over Sebastian or when Sebastian made fun of him. And then we had Blaine trying to rape Kurt. And yes I know he was drunk, but that shouldn't excuse him ignoring what Kurt wants for his first time and continuing when Kurt says no, only to stop when he is physically forced off. And then later on he goes to Rachel and APOLOGIZES for not being able to sleep with Kurt before the play. That made me especially sick. Of course in season 4, we have the cheating of Blaine whereas he even blames Kurt for doing it. And yes I know Kurt ignored some of Blaine's calls and got a little caught up in achieving his dreams, but that doesn't justify him cheating. The reason why Kurt didn't answer Blaine's calls was because he was at fucking work and I don't know about you, but if he's working, he can't just sit down and chat with Blaine. And I know Kurt was kinda being a hypocrite whenever he cheated on Adam with Blaine at the wedding. But maybe it was because him and Adam weren't really an official couple, I don't really know. In season 5, a bunch of shit went down between them. First they weren't able to live in an apartment together without getting into a huge ass fight, and then Blaine basically says that in order for him to feel good about himself, Kurt has to be some delicate flower that needs protection and isn't in shape. AFter that, Blaine lies to Kurt about being in a showcase. And then this happens in season 6, which all I can say is poor writing. The writers made Blaine and Kurt break up out of nowhere. And I honestly at the time thought it was a smart move, because then maybe they could spend a little time to grow up before making such a huge decision. But when they got back together without talking anything out and then married, I knew the writers of this show just fucked up. Kurt and Blaine were not at all ready to get married, especially when they hadn't even talked out their problems. And I can't let go of the fact that Blaine dated Karofsky. I don't give a shit if Karofsky had some major character development and is now a nice person. Blaine dating him was a line that he shouldn't have crossed and it proves just how little he cares about Kurt. Like why would you date a person who bullied, sexually assaulted, and threatened to kill someone you had loved or love? That's just plain cruel Plus, it really says something when the actors hate their characters relationship. Both Darren and Chris stated that they thought Klaine had become an emotionally abusive relationship and that they didn't like the pairing anymore. Look, I just don't like Klaine for that reason and that's my opinion. But I won't bash on anyone who likes the pairing, because that's your decision and I respect that. I feel like having them break up completely was unnecessary. I think Kurt did have some good points, especially how they're just kids. However I think the writers could have handled it better by calling off the wedding yet keep them together until they were a bit older and more mature. Because they loved each other and it's okay that they weren't totally ready to get married. Blaine was right out of high school and Kurt was only a sophomore.
For some reason when I first saw this I was thinking about Christoph Probst who got married when he was 20 and had 3 children in 3 years. By all accounts, this was a happy and loving marriage, which ultimately didn't work out not through any fault of theirs, but through the fact that he was apart of an anti-Nazi resistance movement and was guillotined when he was 23. Agreed. In season 5, he had issues with food, and people bitch about it, saying how needy he is, but it was really hurtful, because his problem is mine too. Kurt went to college to better himself and Blaine's shitty excuse for having sex with another man was because he was LONELY? Kurt never cheated on Blaine despite going through the same issues. THEN Blaine traps Kurt in commitment with a wedding proposal at 18 YEARS OLD?! Of course the relationship is going to go down! Marriage isn't a fucking game where you just whip it out as a last resort. And Blaine's proposal was the whole forced basis that they were even back together for an entire season. And just because you overcame bullying, or danced at prom, or sung an array of songs together that you just let someone treat you like crap.
This scene wasn't Kurt being a random asshole. It was Kurt coming to his senses and the sensation of an impending wedding wore off. Blaine hadn't changed SINCE the cheating: He was jealous, was insecure, and he was immature. And that's fine at the age of 19/20. But he used Kurt's hard-earned progress emotionally and physically as a fault and that is fucked up. Blaine could have punched Kurt, and you women would have found a way to sympathize just to have Klaine happen.
This show doesn't understand that people can be engaged for years before getting married. They don;t have to plan a wedding right away.
That's what I also sort of despised. Glee really went too crazy with weddings. It painted this picture that weddings are the ultimate thing in life, and you have to be engaged in order to save yourself from break-ups. It was always, "We have to get married NOW! We have to be married before graduation! Or we have to be married by this time!"
Christ. Most marriages, successful ones at least, hold relationships for 3-4 years before even proposal. The fiancee stage could last for 2 years even. Marriage at 19/20 when the other is 21/22 is psychotic and RARELY works. Some work, but definitely not with what characters Blaine and Kurt were.

Half of the people in the comment section have probably never been in a long-term relationship, and they don't understand that it's not fair to say "Kurt's not being fair to Blaine!!" or "Why would he break up with him?? That's awful." No, you can't say that because we haven't seen the whole story. We've seen bits and pieces through MONTHS of them being together. If Kurt felt like he couldn't take it anymore, then he couldn't take it anymore. And no one should have to apologize for not wanting to stay in a relationship anymore. That's no ones fault. Sure, maybe he should've realized that with a wedding on the way that a break up would kill Blaine, but what was he supposed to do? Continue to try and amke things work when in his heart he doesn't feel like it's worth it? Or that it's working. And don't even get me started about the ridiculousness of Blaine saying "I will never forgive you for this". I understand he's hurt and people say things like that when they're hurt, but he can't blame Kurt for feeling that they should break up when it hasn't been working for so long. That's not fair to anyone. I've been in this situation, and I didn't realize it at the time, but I've come to realize that you should always put yourself first. If both Blaine and Kurt's happiness and quality of life is decreasing because of their failing relationship, they need to call things quits before things get worse. People need to understand that.
Juliet B I understand what you're saying, but I think in this scenario, Kurt didn't want to break up with him, I think it was because he feared intimacy and commitment which led him to an impulsive decision of ending it.
Honestly, while this breakup was realistic and they DID need to break up since they got stuck in the rut of teenage sweethearts who never really grew together and were growing separately, the breakup was a good thing.
The problem was that the writers fucked it up by having Blaine and Kurt go back together in a way that didn't make sense and made Blaine look spineless. Like.... no. I'd rather we get a glimpse of them both moving on (whether with new boyfriends or careers or whatever!) and just leave the rest up in the air rather than that rushed mess.

Kurt is freaking out about getting married, so he's harping on small things - like the thins you argue about but also deal with and find a compromise or an understanding of when you're married - to avoid the fact that they're making this big a commitment, and is tryign to end it now because he's scared that it'll end when they're married.

All in all, Klaine was so toxic that the relationship made me feel sick. This is going to be long so prepare yourselves.
I think it all started when season 3 came around that Klaine started to become a toxic relationship. First off, we had Blaine steal Kurt's part in the play even though he knew how badly Kurt needed it for his NYADA application. When Sebastian came around, he flirted with Blaine so strongly that even he himself was aware. And only after one time of informing Sebastian of him having a boyfriend, he let Sebastian go on to flirt with him even more. Throughout the third season, he never cared when Kurt expressed his anxiety over Sebastian or when Sebastian made fun of him.
And then we had Blaine trying to rape Kurt. And yes I know he was drunk, but that shouldn't excuse him ignoring what Kurt wants for his first time and continuing when Kurt says no, only to stop when he is physically forced off. And then later on he goes to Rachel and APOLOGIZES for not being able to sleep with Kurt before the play. That made me especially sick.
Of course in season 4, we have the cheating of Blaine whereas he even blames Kurt for doing it. And yes I know Kurt ignored some of Blaine's calls and got a little caught up in achieving his dreams, but that doesn't justify him cheating. The reason why Kurt didn't answer Blaine's calls was because he was at fucking work and I don't know about you, but if he's working, he can't just sit down and chat with Blaine.
And I know Kurt was kinda being a hypocrite whenever he cheated on Adam with Blaine at the wedding. But maybe it was because him and Adam weren't really an official couple, I don't really know.
In season 5, a bunch of shit went down between them. First they weren't able to live in an apartment together without getting into a huge ass fight, and then Blaine basically says that in order for him to feel good about himself, Kurt has to be some delicate flower that needs protection and isn't in shape. AFter that, Blaine lies to Kurt about being in a showcase.
And then this happens in season 6, which all I can say is poor writing. The writers made Blaine and Kurt break up out of nowhere. And I honestly at the time thought it was a smart move, because then maybe they could spend a little time to grow up before making such a huge decision. But when they got back together without talking anything out and then married, I knew the writers of this show just fucked up. Kurt and Blaine were not at all ready to get married, especially when they hadn't even talked out their problems. And I can't let go of the fact that Blaine dated Karofsky. I don't give a shit if Karofsky had some major character development and is now a nice person. Blaine dating him was a line that he shouldn't have crossed and it proves just how little he cares about Kurt.
Like why would you date a person who bullied, sexually assaulted, and threatened to kill someone you had loved or love? That's just plain cruel
Plus, it really says something when the actors hate their characters relationship. Both Darren and Chris stated that they thought Klaine had become an emotionally abusive relationship and that they didn't like the pairing anymore.
Look, I just don't like Klaine for that reason and that's my opinion. But I won't bash on anyone who likes the pairing, because that's your decision and I respect that.

I feel like having them break up completely was unnecessary. I think Kurt did have some good points, especially how they're just kids. However I think the writers could have handled it better by calling off the wedding yet keep them together until they were a bit older and more mature. Because they loved each other and it's okay that they weren't totally ready to get married. Blaine was right out of high school and Kurt was only a sophomore.
For some reason when I first saw this I was thinking about Christoph Probst who got married when he was 20 and had 3 children in 3 years. By all accounts, this was a happy and loving marriage, which ultimately didn't work out not through any fault of theirs, but through the fact that he was apart of an anti-Nazi resistance movement and was guillotined when he was 23. Actually, it's the other way around. He was too good and too perfect in season 2, and when he became a regular in season 3, they made him have flaws, just like any other character on the show. Crazy, I know. Can't believe a character can have layers and development. #mindblown.
Yeah a lot of people bitch that Blaine's character was ruined, but I liked that they gave his character development. We don;t get to just have the perfect guy that was season two, we get a guy with insecurities, flaws and issues like the rest of us. It's important to for a character to have that so they feel real to us and he has become a great character and Darren's acting is sensational
Agreed. In season 5, he had issues with food, and people bitch about it, saying how needy he is, but it was really hurtful, because his problem is mine too. It's not just a ''Blaine'' problem because he's popular and they just want to give him a storyline. No. He used comfort food and he cooked too much to feel better about himself and the writers wanted to show this issue and that exist, but people ignored it in order to bash Blaine. People are assholes. I love his development. The only problem I have is that at one point, they used too much gel for him. Lol. And the fact that the writers basically laugh at us in season 6 when Sue ''portrayed'' the Klainers. That was uncalled for and one reason why season 6 was a mess and I don't watch what Ryan Murphy put out anymore.

Please don't hate me guys, but sometimes I just feel like Blaine and Sebastian would have been better together. I mean yeah Klaine was beautiful but just here me out please... Blaine could help Sebastian become a changed man.. better man and Sebastian was already head over heels for Blaine. They would have been happy and equals you know. And please don't hate me even more but Kurt could have been happy with Karofsky... Like just hear me out here again.... Yeah he bullied Kurt at first but back then Kurt was kinda a lousy character... The point I'm trying to make is they were kids.. and just because someone was a bad person once doesn't mean they're gonna be bad forever. Kurt became confident and stronger.. Kurt evolved and so did Karofsky, he was sweeter and nicer.. after figuring out himself he was a good man and deserved so much better in life.... They were kinda opposite personalities.. just like Sebastian and Blaine and that's why I think both these pairs would have complimented each other far better.

this was literally the worst story line on glee ever. Season 4 and 5 were stupid and poorly written but this was the icing on the cake for ruining a show that couldve been amazing.

Well, that was the joke about her not knowing that her father looks asian. It's Glee, after all, and that's what they do. But the original commenter was all about bitching on Klaine doing that or this is not happening in the real world, well, Glee is unrealistic from the start, so saying that Klaine is unrealistic doesn't make sense.
I completely agree, and understand it was supposed to be a joke. TBH if anything I feel like this WAS realistic bc not all engaged couples go thru with their weddings and getting cold feet/calling off an engagement is a very common thing and I think it was cool of them to show that not only straight couples have this issue
