    Just found this channel, moved to California and trying to get into dental school. I find your story to be very inspirational, motivating and I do want to be somewhere in you're position later in my life!

    I think it's crucial to make sure both owner and associate have similar treatment philosophies. If one dentist is conservative and other dentist is more aggressive in how they approach things then that will lead to a bad outcome. Staff, patients end up getting confused. Dentistry can be very subjective, so it's very important for both owner and associate to make sure their treatment philosophies align before starting the relationship. Just my opinion.

    Joel… your vids are seriously so helping. Can’t thank you enough! And I loved what you said about wanting to replace a dentist; not be apart of their expansion process.

    I agree with showing up at the practice.
    Different scenerio but as a specialist trying to build my practice, I've been going door to door to introduce myself. In one office, the dentist was out but had a great conversation with the office manager- they're now my biggest source of referrals!

    "Worrying about things that probably don't matter" summarizes the majority of my dental school experience >.<
    Things have a tendency to work out if you listen and ask rather than taking every opportunity presented simply at face-value.

    I want to pursue a career in dentistry but if I do I will most definitely do the military scholarship route I’ll be out of school with no debt and done with active duty at about 30 which isn’t bad at all

    If I did BDS in india can I work abroad (like Canada,us and all ).

    • @jsh1344
      @jsh1344 Рік тому +2

      Working in the US you would have to either complete an International Dentist Program (IDP) or get accepted into a residency. For the IDP route, it’s typically two years of dental school, joining a class in their 3rd year. The other option is to go straight into a residency, general or specialty but this is typically more competitive. A BDS alone wouldn’t allow you to work in the US unfortunately. I’m not as familiar with Canada in terms of their exact route, but there are equivalency options as well. In don’t believe a BDS alone would be transferable, but again, not as familiar with Canada.

    if you dont talk with the "man"or female before hiring then don't bother. Theres some decent stuff here. Kinda. Very generalistic. The stuff about the over-promising (lying) offers is correct. No practice in the real world can pay 45% productiom. A quality staff gets another 26=30%. Then you have rent supplies marketing. Nice vlog - Mark Morris
