That made a lot of sense! Switches have to be configured to mirror unicast traffic because they normally send such traffic to the intended destination port only. Hubs do not need such configuration (even if it were possible) because they send all traffic to all devices all the time! I have been going over the study guide from CompTIA CertMaster Learn for Network+ in prep for the exam (N10-007), and you explain port mirroring much more clearly. i'm still confused. while the original data is going to it's intended destination, we are inspecting copy of data, so what is the purpose of inspecting copy of data? b/c the original data is already on theway. ok it's fine but how we stop this data if we got something malware when we inspect the packet
