Doug,... bravo! Well done. I have so loved going there over the years. Even though I do have my favorite seats (no, not the field seats, but the center front row reserved section), there truly is no bad seat in the house. Trivia for you, I once even had the privilege of sitting in the long gone dugout seats that were down below the field level between the opposing team dugouts. Such a unique experience, designed to give you the same view as the players in their dugouts.
Dodgers Stadium, truly blue heaven on earth. Never understood why anyone would want the game to speed up, (unless the Dodgers were losing, haha). I loved going to double headers, back when, You would watch both games. I even saw an 18 inning game there once, and loved it.
Thanks for the info I never new about. I loved this video! Wish I could hit the like button more than once!

Good job. For additions I got:
    1. First and only regular season game # 165 in 1962 (Maury Wills played in all of them).
    2. Olympics baseball in 1984 - only time in history;
    3. Fernando Tatis, Sr. being the only big leaguer to hit 2 grand slams in one inning (both against Chan Ho Park - man, did his ERA blow up!).
    4. In Koufax's perfect game, Cubs pitcher Bob Hendley only allowed one hit (which didn't factor in the 1 Dodger run) and one walk. I believe that is the least number of hits in a game in big league history. And only 2 baserunners total for the whole game, which I believe is also a big league record.
    5. Wills and Drysdale set stolen base and shutout records there. (I was at Drysdale's #6).
    6. And if you're going to include the four 30 homer guys you gotta mention the first all switch-hitting infield and later the infield that played the most games together in history.
    7. Mr. Ed sliding into home and the made-for-TV Hollywood All-Stars vs. Major League All Stars in the early 60's that saw Roberto Clemente pitch fast pitch softball, Eddie Feigner strike out Mays (and others) and Jimmy Piersall and Emmett Ashford switch places during an at-bat. I was there for that, too. Great fun.
    8. Of course, the stadium itself was a modern marvel when it was first built, being the first stadium in the world to NOT have support poles supporting the upper decks, so it was the first stadium where no seat had an obstruction blocking the view of the field.
    9. Dodger Stadium originally had the world's largest scoreboards.
    10. I believe it was the first (and maybe still the only) stadium to have it's own gas station in the parking lot.
    11. The stadium has the largest seating capacity of any baseball only stadium in the world.
    12. And the parking lot was the world's largest when built, now #2.

Fun Facts as a young Dodgers fan back in the early 1970s: They used to have the “Dodgers-Pepsi Fan Club”. To join you had to mail in $1.00 and six rubber bottle cap liners. A few weeks later in the mail you would get a Dodgers t-shirt, membership card, and tickets to 6 games (pavilion seats). What a deal that was! I celebrated my birthday there (I think my 13th) and they put my name up on the left field scoreboard. I was at a game about 1974 when a streaker raced across left field, delaying the game for a few minutes. My mom sang the National Anthem two years in a row standing out in center field accompanied by Helen Dell on the organ. A friend mine had access (through his dad’s work) to season tickets first row behind home plate, near the Dodgers dugout. I got to use those seats on a number of occasions. Also, back then tickets were AFFORDABLE! You could get the nose bleed seats over the press boxes for about 5 bucks. I remember going one time and brought a baggie full of pennies to buy a ticket at the ticket booth in the parking lot. The attendant was very irritated, but I got my ticket! I never tried that again. Now living out of state, I decided I wanted to see a game a couple of years ago while in L.A. After seeing the ticket prices I changed my mind. I doubt I’ll be back to another game. Very sad…

It'll be decades since I saw Garvey, Lopes, Cey and Russell; Jimmy "The Toy Cannon," Wynn, Dusty Baker, Rick Monday, and Steve Yeager. I went to a few games with a friend who had field level season tickets, right behind the Dodger dugout. I wanted to look him up to see if we could meet before a game. The Pavillions at Dodger Stadium is the only sections in dodger stadium where u will find crushed ice in your beverages compared to the usual cubed ice(not ICE CUBE) that you traditionally find throughout the other areas in the stadium. Why? Because during the Barry Bonds balco roiding era fans in the left field pavilion who were known for being a little rowdy at times especially when Barry and the Giants came into town didnt have an option to purchase beer because alcoholic bevy's were not for sale in those sections(large number of fist fights and fan altercations) which meant options for drinks were limited to non alcoholic bevys and the ice in those bevys was being used as projectiles and fans were known to be turning their leftover ice into live ammunition and launching ice missiles at barry when all other projectiles in their arsenals had been spent. It was easy to do when the Pavilion at the time used a cafeteria styled approach when purchasing food and the drinks. They would pre fill soft drinks with ice and drink of choice to try and cut down wait times and lines for the "all you can eat" ticketed fans. By prefilling the drinks it somehow made the ice clump together and form a rather large piece of ice which then enabled a better object to hurl 25 to 40 ft effectively placing Barry Bonds in the active engagement distance of rowdy Dodger fans with a semi decent arm. And with the player having his back turned to the enemy combatants im sure it wasnt long before he was being peppered with the frozen missles that the Dodgers had inadvertently been arming their faithful with. Barry being the bitch he was probably didnt hesitate to complain about the bombardments prompting the switch to less lethal crushed ice and disarming the dodger faithful of their guerilla warfare styled weaponry against human growth hormon abusing cheater

Back in the day (‘70s) the Dodgers workers wore little straw hats (like barbershop quartet singers) and would chase the beach balls down and confiscate them. I guess they got tired of that.

2 perfect games dont forget July 28, 1991, Dennis Martínez of the Montreal Expos pitched the 13th perfect game in Major League Baseball history, blanking the Los Angeles Dodgers 2-0 at Dodger Stadium.

This is a true story although i do not know the exact facts but being an ex employee who has had access to alot of places the public never gets to see Ive been told by some veteran long standing employees that work off hours(non gameday/after hours) that the place is haunted. And that one time in particular they had suspicion that someone evading the police took refuge inside dodger stadium by hopping one of the gates and was seen running into the stadium at night. The police went in to find him but were cautious because the suspect could be armed. Instead they released the dogs to try and find him or maybe flush him out. Instead after a few minutes waiting to hear or see a suspect running or being brought down by the dogs they were shocked to see the police dogs come running out of the stadium and were observed to be whimpering and reluctant to enter the stadium when commanded. Eventually the police entered the stadium after a lengthy wait while the stadiums lights were turned on so they could see and no suspect was ever located.

Where did you find Doug McKain? He's the best part of Dodgers Nation. Is there any way to get these in a podcast form?
