  • 2007 Yamaha XJR1300. Quite rare bike in the world and Incredibly rare in China. Most of people even don't know about this bike existing.
Most of people think that old bike are impossible to ride or they might look ugly. Very often old bikes don't even have ABS, not even talking about e-assistants. But do the old bike have rights to live today?
Let's try to find an answer and see how does this bike feels like!

What do you guys think about classic bikes and this particular one?

I have a tough one for you. I don't know if you are familiar with the Honda Magna 750 v45, the '98 model.
Which one do you think is better, the XJR 1300 or the Magna for every day commuting in a big city and the occasional leisure ride on the weekends?
These are the 2 bikes I'm currently most fond of.
I would like to hear your thoughts.

best bike in the world, so smooth, very reliable, handles very, very well, indestructible, will last for ever. Mine is 17 years old (carb model) runs perfectly. Old tried and tested technology, based on the 1983 design.

Absolutely agree with you. Probably this bike lacks of ABS, but with decent skill you still can use it with no problems

best bike in the world, so much torque, so smooth, last forever.

Easily tuned to 120hp and 85ftlb of torque..... You can ride in top gear at 15mph and the bike will not stall or stutter and can actually all the way past 120mph. I own one and can honestly say that it is a joy to ride. Comfortable, fast, easy to ride, and with a great rumbling 1300 cc creating a sensation like a big cat purring. The only time it is wise to ride it slowly is in the small twisty lanes with gravel and dirt on the road. I have test ridden the Kawasaki 900RS, the BMW R9T scrambler and modern Triumph Bonny, and this bike is still the better bike, even with the extra weight.

I just aquired an xjr1200r japan market only Kenny Roberts version. It has a bikini fairing. 120 hp in its current tune. I pick it up in about a month. I ride a KTM Duke right now. I loved the review. Thankyou!

Yamaha 1200/1300 we’ll go, 250, 300,000 km with regular maintenance. Change oil every 3000, 4000 km it will probably need a new clutch. And the new rubber on hydraulic clutch. Mine is at 140,000 km now.

You don’t need the ABS on the motorcycle. Motorcycles supposed to be fun.

Nice review. Mine is a 2003 model, carburettors, and regarding the heat from the engine? I always wear biking trousers - not only for weather and crash protection but definitely for engine heat protection.

The engine is really hot, especially when it's 35-40C outside

Great video. I'm looking into buying a 2002 model.
I've heard it has a very strong vibration near to 100kph. Have you had anything like that?
Also, what about spare parts and everything? Is it easy to find any?
On another note, what city is this in China? I have friends in China.

Well I didn't notice any vibrations. This bike like a tank xD. About the parts is an interesting question. So far I know that some of the parts can be easily found on eBay, but some of them r nearly impossible to get.
      I'm currently living in Xi'an

Hi John, i bought a XJR1300 2002 model last summer. About 6k kilometers driven by now.
I've gotta say i haven't had a single complaint yet. I'm totally in love with te bike.
Runs super smoothly (no complaints at 100kph). You have power no matter what rpm youre in and it always starts immediately (once you've got some feeling with the choke).
Fuel consumption is bitch though, about 1:16, mostly driving in the city.
Can't say much about availability of spare parts. Only done some regular maintainence like oil filter and air filter which are easy to find.
All and all super comfortble, fun and reliable bike. Let me know if you have any questions!

    How to choose a bike?
Sit on it, try it. If it makes you smile as honest as just a happy child can smile, that's it! If you can not hide that you fell in love like a teenager in puberty, that's it!!
Today I bought one for myself. We fit each other like ass and potty.

I have this exact same bike with the same year but in blue. Absolutely beautiful bike and fun to ride with great torque and power while being comfortable and smooth. I don't feel the heat on the legs though, maybe I'm used to it.

This bike should smoke ktm 790. In city or twisties maybe ktm can keep up and in a straight line it should smoke the ktm
