@@evolvedbread1370 yeah just get the 8bitdo adapter. You can connect almost any controller, Xbox 1, ps4, ps3, and I think even the Wii U controllers. It’s great 👍
I'm just gonna drop this here since Arcade Sticks are something I always liked to talk about, so in case anyone is wondering "why do people still use these", here's a little ted-talk: One reason is of course nostalgia. But the big one is that most combo systems in fighting game heavily rely on cancels, which require you to perform inputs in quick succession. Smash doesn't really use cancels outside of Ryu, Ken, and Terry. You don't cancel a move into another, you *link* them. To do these quick button presses it's often simply way more comfortable to have your hand resting on the controller, enabling you to use more than just 2 or 3 fingers while you can dedicate your other hand entirely to stick movement, which also has to be precise and quick and makes use of unusual motions (like the legendary pretzel input). Seriously, try this on a normal controller: Use your stick to draw a half circle from right to down to left, then immediately push right again and press A and B in quick succession. How fast? Ideally you want to press B one or two frames (aka 1 or 2 60ths of a second) after A. This is the input for a Kara Potemkin Buster. And hell on a controller. These control schemes have their roots way back in the past. Old arcade cabinet layouts influenced the way fighting games are played and in turn nowadays fighting games pass that influence on to the peripherals we use. Smash ain't different. It's not all black and white of course, games or even specific characters/techniques can be more comfortable on a pad than on a stick and player preference is a thing. Some pro players even switch back and forth during a tournament. DBFZ explicitly avoided inputs not well-suited for a typical controller. So the tldr is: Execution in fighting games was heavily influenced by old arcades. The techniques and conventions from this era are still around and can be uncomfortable to make use of on a pad. Since these games often can't really make use of an additional stick or dpad many players opt for a stick to make said inputs easier. And now I slink back into my cave again.

I love the gamecube controller for smash, but when I played Splatoon I was all about detached Joy-Cons, it just felt good to me to move the camera with motions controls with just my right hand, but the issue with that ended up being, joy-cons suck and drift, so I had to switch to the pro controller.
I personally think using B as jump and Y as special for the pro controller in smash, makes it feel more natural to me because most games i play are platformers and thats usually the control scheme
It scares me to think how much money I'd have to spend to replace my GC controllers when they start breaking. I bought a couple of the Smash re-release GC controllers for 40-50 euros when Ultimate came out, but these same ones are now at least 100+.
You can buy them from Japan at that same price. I pre-order one on Amazon in November 2018 they where 32$ incluiding taxes. Then I bought one on a retail at 40$ then they where scalp and now they cost 80$ a piece. But Japan still sell those controllers and adapters for 40$. Also some amiibos are still being printed in Japan
For the Taiko controller you could ask for a modification, connect a long cable with a Joystick at the end, attach it to your mouth, at your teeth, and control that with your tongue. I thought of this back when you played DK with DK Bongos.
Quick recommendation if you ever make a part 2 of this, hori split pad pro joycons and binbok joycons are amazing alternatives for regular joycons (though hori split pad only works on tablet mode so getting footage may be a problem)
As a person who actually owns two beboncool controllers, I was going to get a normal pro controller, but then I wanted my brother to play smash with me too so I got two of those. Plus they feel a lot better with rubber thumb stick caps.
Same, I found a Beboncool controller digging through a pool of random stuff at a store and since it was like $10 I bought it and it has been such a good controller with rubber caps, kinda sad how Little Z didn't find it good given it's one of the best third party pro controllers out there
I'm actually using a double joycon for 2 years in smash and I'm very good with (I try the gamecube one, but I don't like it because the buttons position, it's weird for me who with double joycon normally).
So… would the joycon connection controller thing that comes with the switch bring the joycon variants up? I imagine that it would have saved the joy cube controller from their low score.
I'm genuinely suprised that the 8bitdo controller turned out to be good! I thought that all of the 3rd party stuff would just be crap. If it's not too expensive I might wanna grab one of those. My favorite part of Little Z videos is picking out all of the music from games he's never played
I actually have that exact Mayflash model, it's pretty great for traditional fighting games
But yeah it's not quite built around Smash or most other games lol

-"How often do you see someone play Mario Kart with this"
Speaking of the most used controller for MKWII
2:49 what's funny is that today a pikachu main at our local was talking about making a notch for every single quick attack angle
4:04 nice to see some good music picks on videos like these. Shout out to the G man Bo Burnham.
What song is it called
@@dr_wardin the original is literally called Jeff Bezos by Bo Burnham. But I don't know what this version is called. It's a Mashup with a Bruno Mars song.
@@Isaac_eins i thought it was a mashup with smash mouth's all star
As an accountant, please tell your accountant that these were multiple different controllers needed for the production of a video. Easy write-off as a business expense
The ending. OH MY GOD that ending was beautiful!
alternate title: 25 minutes and 47 seconds worth of little z controller johns
I'd like to add a contender: The BigBigWon Elitist is probably the best feeling Switch controller IMO. Yes, even better than the Nintendo Pro due to the concave thumbsticks. Unfortunately it's not quite tournament legal due to Turbo and Macros...
No

What do you mean? Every controller is the Little Z's controller
And also I don't like the gamecune controller anymore. I prefer the power A gamecube controller now
@@cesarmendieta7954 Oh wow, I didn't actually know that, thank you for the tip!
For the Taiko controller you could ask for a modification, connect a long cable with a Joystick at the end, attach it to your mouth, at your teeth, and control that with your tongue. I thought of this back when you played DK with DK Bongos.
Quick recommendation if you ever make a part 2 of this, hori split pad pro joycons and binbok joycons are amazing alternatives for regular joycons (though hori split pad only works on tablet mode so getting footage may be a problem)
i dont think the hori split pad can be used wirelessly, might put a spanner in the works
i appreciate how much effort you're putting into these vids! it really shows!
Honestly, I'll take a 7/10 for the Joy cons, the only real reason I prefer them is because I get to use motion controls on Splatoon 2
True.
No Hori Battlepad? You're missing out!
"IT WAS YOU, IT WAS YOU! ILL FUCKING KILL YOU" that clip litterally had me replay that 10 times due to how funny it is 🤣🤣🤣💀💀
As a person who actually owns two beboncool controllers, I was going to get a normal pro controller, but then I wanted my brother to play smash with me too so I got two of those. Plus they feel a lot better with rubber thumb stick caps.
Same, I found a Beboncool controller digging through a pool of random stuff at a store and since it was like $10 I bought it and it has been such a good controller with rubber caps, kinda sad how Little Z didn't find it good given it's one of the best third party pro controllers out there
As someone that uses pro controllers. I’ve noticed how it sometimes have some really annoying input delay online. Might just be me though
I'm actually using a double joycon for 2 years in smash and I'm very good with (I try the gamecube one, but I don't like it because the buttons position, it's weird for me who with double joycon normally).
Those GameCube joycons looked really cool, it sucks they were bad
"My mum got it for me so I can play Splatoon."
I laughed but also felt targeted.
I love specifically when smash youtubers use "you will know our names" as background music and time themselves losing to the beat of the song
As a Playstation fan as well, having the sticks at the bottom feels nice to me. Pro Controller still slaps though
7:50 AND THE ABSOLUTE DRIFT!
9:54 Thanks for telling me what that T Button does, I have be using that controller for a while I didn’t know what that button did
Leaving the Apple ecosystem was the most rewarding tech decision I have ever made. Switching from Gamecube controller to pro controller is 2nd
Whats the somg 0:39?
They say to this day that this guy still doesn't know what the song is 💀
Pokemon black and white emotion music
alpharad found one already its the slime controller
Why didn't you clean that pro controller a little for the close the shots 😂
And Nintendo just released N64 and SegaMegadrive's modern alternatives
Imagine some guy just beating mkleo with a single joycon, would be the coolest top player ever
i would love too
One of the best interactions of the pro controller is the power A ultra controller or whatever it is. Super nice to hold. And good inputs and customizable sticks.
24:33 that’s what my friend who mains hero says all the time
11:55 man ate a controller for our entertainment 😂😂😂
20:21 I’d honestly say that the Shotos will work the best bc they can auto turnaround so u will have a chance to hit you’re opponent
