For everyone using age to defend Axl - yes, you are partially right. But on the other hand, listen to the recent concerts of Mercyful Fate and King Diamond. King's falsetto sounds almost exactly like he did on the albums, and he's 66, and has also suffered a massive heart attack a few years back. Or what about Bruce Dickinson? He's 63, had throat cancer a few years back, and still sounds impressive.
I've seen KD in concert. If you think he's still singing those falsetto parts you're wrong. Those are backing tracks supported by the woman behind the curtain.
Dude, you said it, king diamond uses a head voice that is easy to do, proof is, Axl is now mainly using this falsetto technique because singing like he used to do is extremely hard on the vocal chords. I think he cannot do it anymore or if he does it, it will take him a hell of a time for him to heal, because yeah he is old and his body cannot take the abuse as it used to. Again, Bruce Dickinson uses a different technique, it's more of a chest voice, and is the most technically trained singer of the 3, he took great care of his voice and it shows. However listen to him live now and when he was 20, it's a different world as well. Axl cannot do it anymore because his "technique" or lack of to be more exact, slowly destroyed his ability to sing. That said, Bruce's voice deteriorated in 1983-84 severely due to their intense touring, just listen to him sing Hallowed Be Thy Name in 1982 (during the Number of the beast tour), compared to Hallowed on Live After Death from 1985. Night and day. Iron Maiden should tune down a half step IMO, and he'd sound even better. That said, he's one of the few who can still pull off the old-school songs in their original key. Amazing singer indeed.
honestly it's hard to give a judgement about Axl's performance on a video with bad quality audio and crowd singing loud and bad who don't know all the lyrics. last time i've seen them it was in 2017 in Paris stade de France with a show during 3h30 and it was pretty cool. of course i can't compare with the first time i've seen them in 1992

Saw GnR live back in 2009. Unfortunately that lineup was Slash-less, but Axl sounded amazing still. This just screams a tired old man who hasn’t taken care of his body. If you’re gonna do this at least don’t charge a fortune for tickets.
