nature also goes to the bigger scarier scavengers like bears or mountain lions (not actual scavengers i know) Wolf kills a deer and a bear smells it a bear would scare off the wolf and eat what it wants and leave the rest for the bugs
@Primitive Pathways I'm pretty sure that in one of your earlier comments you wrote that the scavengers ate the carcass, so the bobcat did not get it. Which one was it? If the cat did come back and ate it and you guys have the pictures, please make antoher video, I'm sure a lot of people would love to see it and that it'd have a lot of views.
What an awesome event to capture on a trail cam! Love it..amazing hunters these bobcats! I don't find this unfortunate at all..it's well earned and fortunate for the bobcat and hopefully his kittens too
What is this nonsense about him saying it is unfortunate that the deer died? Dude, bobcat has gotta eat! For an ecosystem to function properly, there must be a sufficient number of predators to keep prey animal numbers within control. All a deer has to do to eat is lower its head and open its mouth. Bobcats have gotta work hard to survive. Don’t interfere with that.
Your interruption may have caused another death. Who knows what other animal the bobcat had to kill because of that. But to be honest, I may have react the same way. Strange, when watching the clip, I feel sorry for the deer and want it to escape and at the same time I'm all with the bobcat. Seems like two souls are within me - one is prey and one is predator.
That's true...I can feel for both animals. Being a hunter I understand where the bobcat is coming from. But I also feel for the deer. It's a weird tangle of emotions.
No he left the deer. Within a day or two there was nothing but bones left. The scavengers picked the deer clean so quickly that it didn't even get to the point where it smelled rotten!
Primitive Pathways did you really mean to say "save the deer". If you didn't, please repost something for everyone to read what you meant. Do you even know how that sounds
Awesome attack and kill video. Proof positive that a 25 pound bobcat can take down a 50 pound fawn. Everything has to eat in nature so i don't blame the bobcat for the attack. A young deer also isn't always as alert and swift to dodge nor strong enough to break free so I don't blame the deer either. for its demise It's just how nature works. But it does point out the abject cruelty and lack of compassion any predatory killer has for its prey. As you noted, it takes minutes for a deer to bleed out and die due to punctures and bites to the neck. A deer needs to bleed out about 3 pints of blood in order to die. I say this simply to point out that a vital zone bullet from a hunter's gun kills far more humanely than predators in nature ever do. I'd be willing to bet a lot of those saying let the bobcat kill and eat the deer would be completely against a hunter killing the same deer. To the deer it doesn't matter all that much; it dies either way. What this video proves is that controlling the deer population via hunting isn't any more traumatic or unethical than simply allowing nature's predators to do the same job. Thanks for sharing a great video!
Mother Nature at her finest !! I’ve seen a coyote haul down a fawn & drag the dead fawn back to her baby yotes........Not fun to witness but that is the way Mother Nature works......
I get a kick out of people who always talk about how a coyote will win in fight against a coyote. They have never actually witnessed a bobcat attack anything. Just a few years ago while hunting from my deer stand I watched a young female bobcat that was only 12 to 15 pounds absolutely destroy a large male coyote that was 45+ pounds. She came walking up the ridge with a rabbit she had caught and the large male coyote sneaked up behind her and tried to steal her catch. It didn't take but a few seconds for him to realize he just made the mistake of his life. She wrapped her legs around his neck and head, sunk her claws in and went to chewing with her teeth. He tried everything he could to shake her off but all he could do was roll with her and scream. After probably 15 to 20 seconds she finally let go and all you could see was him running away yelping with his head tore all to pieces. Never underestimate any kind of cat. They are Apex predators....
Every one assumes he chased the cat off after witnessing the kill, WRONG the pictures were captured by a trai cam and when he drove up the cat got scared off. I'm pretty sure the cat came back to claim his kill, if not he's just gonna do it again.
" Unfortunately he was too late to save the deer. " Why would he want to do that ? It's nature and nature appears at times to be cruel. But the bobcat needs to eat and it eats herbivores like deer. That's the way it is. Would we feel sorry for the defenceless grass that the deer eats ?
What I really feel sorry for is putting all that salt in the anchovies. Why would you do that? I mean, the anchovies didn't ask to have salt shoved up their asses...but we do it anyway! Why??? Why??!! WHY DAMMIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Without sharp claws or teeth, there's not much the adult deer could do to help the fawn". Wrong. They could stomp on the cat w their hooves. The cat would flee.
This is NOT Unfortunate, this is Nature, and the Bobcat Deserves his Meal! (And could be feeding little ones)... I am a Hunter, and I Respect other Hunter's Rights! I am so Thankful for People Like You, PCL Outdoors & Bushcraft! You have your head on straight, and know what you are talking about!!!
What kind of statement was that. Dude do you understand a lot of people can't even hunt, butch, farm, or even cook that well. All of a sudden you want to no food for that wild cat.
What kind of statement was yours? I didn't have ANYTHING to do with the bobcat or the deer. This happened 2,000 miles away from me, I just got the photos from my brother and made a video about it. Go complain to him.
What the heck? That bobcat probably risked its life for catch that deer and you just chase it off because it’s keeping itself alive? How would you like it if you were starving and when you finally got a meal someone just came up to you and took it away? You’d be really angry that someone had taken away your chance to survive at all!
Last deer season as I walked back to the house from my deer stand in the evening, I heard two animals, about 40 yards away, running. I figured it was a buck chasing a doe. that was, until the doe ran to about 7 yards from me and slammed on the breaks to turn. It ran up the hill into the field where I then heard the bobcat let out a bone chilling scream from about 15 yards out. One of the scariest moments I've had in the woods.
People get so hostile about wild wolves in Wisconsin. They say they are eating "all the deer" because they aren't acting like backyard pets anymore but are wary like they are supposed to be. Also we have a big epidemic of chronic wasting disease or CWD in deer which is like mad cow disease for deer and itsnpotentially contagious to humans who eat it is really seriously affecting the deer as well as people who depend on deer hunting to get through the winter. However the areas where there are healthy populations of wolves are the ONLY areas where CWD hasn't spread because they take down the weak and the sick. The DNR has been worse than useless and haven't even tried to contain the epidemic and now it has spread into Iowa. They are much more involved in trying to demonize the wolves and open up hunting season on them again. Former Gov. Walker put his flunkies in there and they dodnaway with most of the scientist positions so they wouldn't be contradicted with facts when they made their plans. They cater to the very worst elements in so called hunting. Wisconsin has a long history of partnership between hunters and environmentalists but its the most sadistic assholesmwhonrule the roost here. You wouldn't believe what they allow people to do to almost any injured small wild animal including feral cats with hounds and to hounds in the name of training and hunting. Then for every hound they get killed by putting them in harms way near a mapped wolf den with pups or sending them after a black bear to maul and get mauled they are reimbursed 2,000 dollars in taxpayer money per dead hound if killed by a bear or wolf. Funny how those numbers keep going up isn't it ???
How was this 'unfortunate'? The bobcat was doing what bobcats do.

dont save the deer, then the bobcat would have died from no food, it went through all that effort just to run away scared from a human.
Phyankord good
Phyankord let that cat die HAHAHAHAHA
Deer are about 30 times more common than they used to be before people in many parts of the country... Natural animal control of deer is a good thing
The bobcat came back later and ate it
Natural selection at work.. Cat earned the kill..
Unfortunately? Bobcats have to eat, too. Circle of life, dude.
Save the deer. Yeah, it's so sad that such a endangered species is dying off like this. You gotta be nuts.
For those who don’t know, northern large male bobcat can easily do this.
And shame on whoever fucking robbed this bobcat of it’s hard work.
You may find it sad, but as the great Steve Irwin use to say, "That's natures way."
Should have left it. Why do these people get involved?? The deer was already dead.
This guy acts like this is some kind of tragedy. What....bobcat lives don't matter?
No...they don't!!! HAHAHA!
And your life doesn't matter either!! hahahaha
fucking idiot did do at least let the bobcat eat the deer? waht a piece of shit
There's nothing "unfortunate" about a bobcat getting a dinner.
Unfortunately? Isn't this part of nature? Poor Bobcat, all that hard work and he doesn't even get to eat its deer cake.
nature also goes to the bigger scarier scavengers like bears or mountain lions (not actual scavengers i know) Wolf kills a deer and a bear smells it a bear would scare off the wolf and eat what it wants and leave the rest for the bugs
Bob cat gota eat too!
Bob cats are capable of taking down smaller dear easily. It gets better at it every time it is successful. This cat looks full grown and healthy.
The unfortunate thing is the prick who scared the bobcat off from his lunch.
Well really he should’ve just left the deer for the cat.
My brother actually did and the bobcat returned to finish off its kill. He got trail camera pics of it when it came back.
Save the deer? Why? My man earned that! What's your problem?!
The dude's brother need the meat more than the bobcat. Poor animal worked so hard for its dinner and was taken. Dawned
Are you kidding me.Bobcat didn't murder overpopulated deer.It took patience & energy for rare bobcat to get a meal & he scared him off? U owe him food
WTF? Mr & Mrs Bobcat & Family have to eat too!
^..^~~
Hey tree hugger, This is not sad or unfortunate. The Bobcat awesomely earned this meal. He can't go to McDonalds like you.
That cat worked hard to earn that deer, and you took it away from it, that's what's unfortunate, not the deer being dead
Did he take the deer or leave it for the critters?
No he left the deer. Within a day or two there was nothing but bones left. The scavengers picked the deer clean so quickly that it didn't even get to the point where it smelled rotten!
He did not catch the Bobcat returning on the trail cam?
Primitive Pathways did you really mean to say "save the deer". If you didn't, please repost something for everyone to read what you meant. Do you even know how that sounds
Keep this in mind when choosing a skid steer. Bobcat will always outperform Deere.
What is unfortunate is when d-bag hunters kill bobcats for trophys.
It's so crazy to me that an animal that isn't that much bigger than a house cat can take down deer.
This year I saw a bobcat kill a small elk I couldn't believe my eyes wish I would have had a video camera
Why does the commentator think it is unfortunate that the Bobcat killed its prey? And why interfere with a predator going about earning its living.
Thanks for the video, most people do not know how powerful a bobcat is, they are tough.
It's called a fawn...not quite a fully grown deer. Mr. Bob cat couldn't take down a fully grown deer, but a mountain lion could.
Were you trying to be sarcastic? The bobcat has the right eat. If not, then all I have to say is WA...WA... The bobcat cat earned it's dinner.
nope he got run the fuck off lolol
I was told that, in winter in the Adirondacks, if bobcats don't manage to get an occasional deer, they are unlikely to make it through the winter.
The reason deer have become a menace on the East Coast, we wiped out the wolves, cougars, bobcats and lynxs. Now no natural predators.
The “smaller deer” is a small fawn. Common prey for bobcat. Not surprising at all.
Tik toker just posted one too. Crazy how such a small animal will go for a larger one that’s as quick
Every one assumes he chased the cat off after witnessing the kill, WRONG the pictures were captured by a trai cam and when he drove up the cat got scared off. I'm pretty sure the cat came back to claim his kill, if not he's just gonna do it again.
Unfortunately?
He didn’t fire a shot, and he’s got a deer. How is that unfortunate?
" Unfortunately he was too late to save the deer. "
Why would he want to do that ?
It's nature and nature appears at times to be cruel.
But the bobcat needs to eat and it eats herbivores like deer.
That's the way it is.
Would we feel sorry for the defenceless grass that the deer eats ?
So, it killed a young deer. What's so surprising about that?
"Unfortunately he was too late to save the deer".. that's a joke right?
It is if you want it to be...
"Sadly"? "Unfortunately"? You sound like my 5 year old daughter who hates fishing because she feels sorry for the anchovies being used as bait.
What I really feel sorry for is putting all that salt in the anchovies. Why would you do that? I mean, the anchovies didn't ask to have salt shoved up their asses...but we do it anyway! Why??? Why??!! WHY DAMMIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No tragic ending here ... Just a beautiful hunter taking food.
It hunts just like a mountain lion. It lies in wait and ambushes pray from behind. Its really cool that this was actually documented photographically.
I don't regret bobcats for killing deer on my property, it's just nature being nature.
I’m glad your brother didn’t “save the deer”. A bobcat’s gonna bobcat.
Well versed. Factual information. No crazy intros or obnoxious music.
Didn't i just find a video on your channel about how to butcher a deer ? Find the mistake!
"Without sharp claws or teeth, there's not much the adult deer could do to help the fawn". Wrong. They could stomp on the cat w their hooves. The cat would flee.
I saw a 25 lb bobcat jump on a 150 lb buck like that one time. He didn't get him, but just the fact that he tried settled the argument for me.
This video symbolizes the time when the 7-59 Bobcats beat the Bucks on their first game
This is NOT Unfortunate, this is Nature, and the Bobcat Deserves his Meal! (And could be feeding little ones)... I am a Hunter, and I Respect other Hunter's Rights! This Hunter is Exceptional, and Probably worked really hard to pull this off! That's the Problem, People DO NOT Understand Nature, and Screw Up Everything by, Making Misinformed Videos Like this, and Building their Houses in Wild Animal Habitat, and then complain when the Deer, are eating their Plants etc... Educate Yourselves to the Level of Objectivity People, and then we can have an Intellectual Discussion on the Subject! I can see that there are others who Understand, and Agree with me!
Bobcats are the elite special forces of the animal world. They mastered "blitzkrieg" long before humans
That's true! Wish I had hunting skills that good...
What the heck? That bobcat probably risked its life for catch that deer and you just chase it off because it’s keeping itself alive? How would you like it if you were starving and when you finally got a meal someone just came up to you and took it away? You’d be really angry that someone had taken away your chance to survive at all!
If someone tried to run me away from my dinner, I'd just take the plate and slam it into their face so they couldn't eat it either! Hahaha!
“Unfortunately too late to save the deer?” Sucks he didn’t let the bobcat have dinner. That’s the unfortunate part…
