42:00 - I've always loved the drowning man illustration in regards to salvation, although I remember hearing a slightly different version.
This is the illustration that I remember hearing. A man is drowning in the ocean, and a passing boat hears the man's cries for help. As the boat approaches the drowning man, the man on board sticks out his hand and says "take my hand and I'll save you". The man then decides to take the man's hand (faith) and is saved. The great thing about this illustration is that it's also great to use in the case of someone arguing against eternal salvation, or those who have stopped believing. Using this same illustration, the man holds out his hand and tells the drowning man to grab it, the drowning man then grabs his hand, but ends up passing out or decides to let go (unbelief). However, the man on the boat refuses to let go, and pulls the drowning man's body to safety. I've always thought this was a great illustration of God's faithfulness to sinful men.

The simple understanding that Calvinists fail to comprehend is this:
God has predetermined that everyone who believes the gospel of salvation will be blessed with all blessings in the heavenly places.
Calvinists seem to have very twisted minds.

Exegesis, eisegesis, context, and content are terms commonly used in the study and interpretation of texts, especially religious and literary texts. Here are their definitions:
    Exegesis:
Exegesis is the process of critical interpretation and explanation of a text, particularly a religious scripture or literary work. It involves a careful analysis of the text's content, historical context, language, and intended meaning. Exegesis aims to uncover the author's original intent and to understand the text on its own terms.
    Eisegesis:
Eisegesis is the opposite of exegesis. It refers to the interpretation of a text, often a scripture or literary work, based on the reader's personal beliefs, preconceived notions, or biases, rather than attempting to understand the text's actual meaning. Eisegesis can lead to misinterpretation and the imposition of one's ideas onto the text.
    Context:
Context refers to the circumstances and conditions that surround a particular text, making it possible to understand its meaning. Context includes the historical, cultural, social, and literary background in which the text was written. Analyzing context is essential for a comprehensive understanding of a text's significance.
    Content:
Content relates to the substance or subject matter of a text. It encompasses the ideas, themes, information, and narrative within the text. The content of a text is what the author is trying to convey to the reader. Analyzing the content is an integral part of both exegesis and eisegesis, as it forms the basis for interpretation.
In summary, exegesis is the careful and scholarly interpretation of a text to understand its original meaning, while eisegesis involves reading personal beliefs into a text. Context is the broader environment in which a text exists, providing insights into its meaning, and content is the actual substance of the text itself.

Dear Pastor David Reid. You've a point to prove on the the biblical doctrine of predestination based on the term of predestination as mentioned in Romans and Ephesians. I noticed that, after reading verse 23 of Genesis chapter 25 which tells us that God seems to have pre-determined(destined) that the younger twin(Jacob) will be served by the older twin(Esau), freewill could not be exercised since God has made a sovereign decree. By going further reading of the Scriptures, Jacob's twelve sons became the seeds, and later twelve tribes of Israel, scattered among the nations (James 1:1). Esau has no ability in the first place to exercise his(Esau) freewill even before his(Esau). Seems to suggest that this is in stark contrast to that of Jacob's position even before his(Jacob) birth. In other words, Jacob has been chosen and pre-determined(destined) to receive an eternal blessing, right, up to everlasting promise God made to his(Jacob) grandfather(Abraham)

@SuperLeonlee Note that in the scriptures election is to service not salvation (Gen 25:23, Rom 9:12). Big difference. Grace.

1 Corinthians 4:7 For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not received? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it? Romans 3:11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. Question??????? Can any good thing come out of the flesh that God would see as good??? We are justified by faith, Whose faith??? Gods faith, we are saved through faith, not by faith. Question??? What % of the flesh has not been affected by sin that God will trust???None Act.16:31 should not be considered untl after reading 2 Timothy 2:15......rightly dividing the word of truth. Question????For those who die in child birth or abortion that have Adams sin but yet are saved, is it so hard to believe a hundred year old with Adams sin can be saved by 1 Corinthians 15:19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.

Is there a "spirit" BAPTISM for the NT CHURCH today..?
There are those who are adamantly against the WATER baptism that JESUS PROVIDED for ALL NATIONS (Matt. 28:18-20), never understanding what water baptism is FOR, and what water baptism DOES. Yet - many think there is a "spiritual baptism" at 1Cor.12:13 without explanation of the HOW and WHY, while claiming it exists in 1 Corinthians 12:13.
    - - -
Because Paul preached and practiced WATER baptism throughout his ministry, no one should attempt to claim a "spirit" baptism is being talked about at 1Corinthians 12:13. To do so is to contradict what all of the Scriptures around say about that which Paul was preaching and practicing!
    -
At 1 Corinthians 12:13 Paul is speaking about the WATER baptism the Corinthians had ALREADY received (see Acts 18:8) - and here at 12:13, Paul reminds them that it is “by the Spirit” (the DIRECTION of the HS through the Word the Spirit revealed) - that ALL are [water] baptized into the church, the church which Paul here metaphorically calls the “body” some 20 years after his conversion.
Paul also later reminded the Romans and the Galatians how they came to be IN Christ also!
Romans 6:3, Galatians 3:27 - which is by WATER baptism.
Earlier in 1 Corinthians, Paul reminded the Corinthians... 1 Corinthians 6:11 - "...but ye were WASHED, but ye were sanctified, but ye were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and in the Spirit of our God."
To claim some type of “spirit” baptism into 1 Cor.12:13 - doesn't "wash"!
This "washing" is the same one found at Ephesians 5:26 and at Titus 3:5... where Paul clearly explains that it takes TWO THINGS = WASHING [water] AND the SPIRIT/WORD for their “cleansing” (forgiveness), their justification, their sanctification and their regeneration to be a “new man”... "in Christ".
    Ephesians 5:25 - ...Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it;
26 that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of WATER with the WORD... >>>>>

The phrase "we are called by the gospel" is a statement that often appears in religious or Christian contexts. It typically refers to the idea that individuals are invited, summoned, or compelled to respond to the teachings and message of the Gospel, which is the central message of the Christian faith. The Gospel contains the teachings of Jesus Christ, His life, death, and resurrection, and the offer of salvation and reconciliation with God through faith in Him.
In this context, "called by the gospel" means that people are encouraged to hear, believe, and respond to the message of Jesus Christ, which is believed to be good news (Gospel) that offers salvation and eternal life to those who accept it. It's an invitation to embrace the faith, repentance, and discipleship that the Gospel teaches.
This concept can vary in interpretation among different Christian denominations, but it generally emphasizes the importance of responding to the message of Christ with faith and obedience. It is a central theme in Christian evangelism and mission work, encouraging individuals to accept the call of the Gospel and follow the teachings of Jesus.
