    The fact that she has a passion for something as simple as riding a horse and the way shew helps you see it and feel it in this video is incredible. The way she described the desert was so poetic. ❤

      It can take a lifetime just to master the basics. If you’ve ever ridden anything other than a trail horse you would know how difficult this is. Just riding a horse at a medium pace can burn as many calories as Pilates. Now imaging riding at a fast gait over hundreds of kilometers. Not at all simple- physically or mentally

      America is built by slaves, and? UK is buillt by slaves? Is it spavery because the workers have dark skin? Because they obviously get paid, otherwise there wouldn't be thousands volunteering for the positions.

      And why do you think so? Have you ever been on a horse for 2 hours straight? It's our job to make it look easy and effortless. Behind all of that are countless hours of training again and again and again. Do you think the same about the other disciplines? They are all hard as endurance. You think it's just sitting there and the horse is just casually jumping? No. It's so much more than that. You think in dressage the rider is just sitting there and doing nothing and the horse is doing it all by it's self? It's so much more than that. And why you don't see it? Because it's hidden. Do you think it's easy for a ballerina to do her dance like it looks on the scene? No, she spent countless hours and sleepless nights improving and stretching. Take the horse riding as a ballet. It always looks easy and effortless but you don't know what's going on behind the scenes. You don't know about the tears, the fear, the fall, the stretching, the preparing and many other stuff. So please don't underestimate the horse riding or every other sport or activity.

      I’m a weight lifter.The human riding needs to have good endurance and full body muscle control to be able to ride successfully for long periods of time. At certain times it’s exhausting. Torturous even. I’ve been riding for years and I still have moments where my lungs and muscles beg for rest. It’s like no other sport.

    The horse is the one enduring the distance!!! The rider does not have to run, all she has to do is sit on top! The horse is forced to do this! Shame on these people!!!

    • @mandygrace4293

      Let me ask you something. Have you tried it before? You are the kind of people who thinks that the horses do all the work. Well you're wrong! I'm an endurance rider and I know exactly how hard it is. I'm still in the beginning, I've been to 4 races and on 2 of them I almost passed out and on the last one I wasn't able to finish it because I was too tired. Still think we don't get tired? We're moving with the horse and we're not just sitting in their backs to be in burden for them. The rider is the person who decides which path is the best for his horse and the one who has to keep his horse in good shape and health through the whole race. Sometimes the race is longer than a few hours so you have to think how are you gonna go through the terrain. Keep that in mind before you comment something like that again.

      You have no clue what you are talking about. Riding like this requires great muscle endurance. Clenching and controlling muscles like this for hours is exhausting. I’m a weight lifter and horse rider. I’ve been riding for 15 years and I have moments where my lungs, muscles and heart BEG for rest. It’s not like running a marathon, rather it’s like clenching all of your muscles for hours on end. It’s much harder and more exhausting than it looks

  • @avrahamedery

    This sport is cruel. Only nice for the human the horse is not taken into consideration.
    Metal pain bits and a lot of pressure on the mouth.
    Basically all horse sports are cruel.
    Dubai and many other Arab countries treat their animals terribly.

      A hundred mile race is "just trail riding"?

    • @asphorcata
      @asphorcata 7 років тому +1

      namewithay technically its pretty subjective tho. In Indonesia the nias people do this everytime, but maybe in england they dont, so yeah its pretty subjective

    • @maddyhannah6214
      @maddyhannah6214 7 років тому +2

      namewithay It's a very basic idea and relies on the horse. 100 miles is long, but the skills and endurance really come from the horse and all the rider must do is control his pace. It requires far little skill and connection compared to other disciplines, like cross-country, dressage, showjumping, even barrel racing.

    • @oliviadarklee2547
      @oliviadarklee2547 6 років тому +8

      As fellow equestrian, I say you are wrong. Other disciplines do require more technique while riding, but in endurance the management is key. If you make any wrong decisions about speed, food offered, cooling, any care you choose to offer the horse in between loops. Any competition in the disciplines you mention, it only lasts up to 20 minutes. In endurance, it lasts all day. It requires a lot MORE skill and connection than the other disciplines, just in a different way.
