But it leaks when I turn on the heater mind you the heater doesn’t work do you think I have to change my heater core ? Or it might be something else ? Do I have to unclogged like you did ? Please help me !!
Bmw e60 dual zone: I also went the way with head gasket sealer and ... Driver side is cold, passenger is hot. I've changed the heater valve. I've found some big debris there. Even after the new valve, the heater is still not working properly. I've already flushed the whole system 3 times and each time, some debris come off. I will isolate and flush the heater core only. I'll keep you posted guys!
@@DrewFagonMotorsAfter 2 days of flushing, it finally works. My heater core got coated with this stop leak shit. I soaked with red vinegar overnight and then performed Liqui Moly Radiator cleaner flush with 12v pump circulating in around 5 litres of water and the radiator cleaner. I've used an additional heater to heat the liquid to approximately 60 degrees Celsius for 1 hour with the pump circulating only in the heater core segment in reverse direction to the normal workdlow. In between many power flushes with water from the sink. A lot of debris and the Liqui Moly went from transparent to very yellow. Thanks for the insight and guide!
I have what looks like metal bits in my coolant tank (just purchased the car), from reading up its possibly from the water pump going, after doing a test on the water pump looks like it’s functioning properly, my theory is it’s from the previous water pump going then it was replaced, I’m yet to diagnose properly, when I have time I’m going to do a thorough check, but just an idea of where the shiny bits have come from, I’m hoping it’s not from a stop leak or head gasket sealer since that would mean far more serious issues then I’d like. There’s also no heater what so ever, I’m thinking clogged heater core, apparently a common issue on bmws (this is my first bmw). I’ve also found the power steering fluid to be sparkling, clearly tiny bits of metal, I’m hoping it’s just normal wear & they’ve negated to change the fluid (190k kms), which I plan to do a flush on since the power steering system seems to be functioning properly. Thanks for the video, although personally I probably would have run the hoses under the car to prevent any larger particles/clumps from having to fight gravity to pump up the hose, over the engine bay & into the bucket, especially since the water pressure doesn’t seem fantastic, that’s just me speculating though.
I would recommend that you go ahead and flush the heater core but do not turn up the water pressure too high because it will blow out the hose from under the dashboard that’s connected to the heater core….
Oh I'm sorry if I didn't say that right. They are 2 different hoses. One on the top and one on the bottom. Both of them go one place, at the fire wall.

This is an excellent video but i noticed you cut out the part where you actually cleared the clog. What did you do ? Showed the metal bits and how it was stucknand barely coming out. Next part is putting it back together?
CHECK THE COOLANT TEMPERATURE TO SEE IF IT'S GOING UP TO OPERATING TEMPERATURE. YOU CAN GET A CODE READER AND SCAN THE SYSTEM AND SEE IF YOU SEE ANY FAULTY CODES. TYPICAL OBVIOUS SYMPTOMS OF A FAILING THEMOSTAT IS THAT YOUR CAR WILL OVERHEAT.
@@fernandogonzalez-le1zx was told that it’s possible the heater core could be partially clogged. I am 90% Sure that’s it but haven’t had a chance to fix it due to the process of switching it is pretty much remove your whole dash.
Great idea about using the clear hose. I ended up using those and a flush kit (for garden hose connector) and it worked wonderfully!

That sounds like you're going to have to get the system pressurized so you can figure out where the leak is coming from

No, that sounds like the blend door actuator because it's already getting heat on one side, so the heat is working.

He just removed the hose that runs straight down from the upper radiator hose. Took me a while to figure out too.
