😭 I've just read that Dogbert sadly passed away back in March. I'm so sorry for your loss Trevor. You did everything you could for Dogbert to give him the best life & care possible. He will always be with you in your thoughts & memories of him but most importantly he will forever remain in your heart. Thinking of you, Tito & shadow at this heartbreaking time. RIP Dogbert🐾🌈🐾

Met Dogbert only today. And his owner and friend, , Trevor, who was unashamed to cry for him should be an inspiration to us all. Also, thank you for your beautiful thoughts for them both. I have been a fan of Trevor’s for many, many years, only now, at 75, learning that social media can be used for much good in this world. Thank you, both.

😢Sadly this disease is well known in German Shepherds. I really really feel for Trevor & fully understand what he's going through as my old GSD had this disease where just like Dogbert she lost total use of her back end. So I saved up & got her a wheelchair which gave her more quality of life that she had for another 2yrs where she was nearly 13yrs old before she sadly passed away back in 2012. I really commend Trevor & any other person who takes on or looks after a dog or any other animal with an illness or disability as it's not easy at all, you have to be fully committed to them 110% to give them the extra care, love & support they need which makes it even harder when that final devasting day comes when you loose them, but I don't regret any of it if anything I'd do it all over again & I am as I now have a 3 legged GSD who will be 13yrs old this coming August. I feel so blessed to have her in my life & cherish every day we have as she's my best friend, family. Just because an animal has an illness or disability, as long as they have some quality of life well they are all individual, very special & they so still deserve a chance at life.🐾

In my 82 years of life i saw 10 Poodles over the rainbow bridge 🌈 were my children. It is never easy to loose a fur baby. They give unconditional love!😢😢😢😢So sorry for your loss. I have a 13 year old Bichon named Daisy. I treasure every moment I have with her. Do not know when this happened but I am sending prayers to you my dear man! 🙏🙏🙏😢😢😢😢😢

When you lose your dog , you also lose a part of your heart ... but not the memory of him. That stays with you and surfaces often especially when you are around other dogs of the same breed ... bittersweet memories...really sorry for your loss Trevor. I share in your grief sincerely.

"It's probably much more difficult for me than it is for him". I adopted a tripawd a couple of years ago, so these words resonate with me. I know about dogs in wheelchairs, and making adjustments to go for a walk, and wondering if I'm doing right or enough for him. Yet, it's amazing how much he's brought to my life. Would I do it again? Absolutely! In fact, he has made me aware of how people miss the chance of adopting senior or disabled dogs. Thank you @Trevor Donovan for sharing your experience. I have no doubt that Dogbert and Tito would like you to remember how much you loved them. Greetings from Loki and Toto!

Awe you have a good heart to take care of these animals. My dog who is a chow mix is having problems with her hips she is 15 years old. She has problems walking and she also has a lump in her leg. I’m hoping it’s not cancer or anything like this. 🙏
I know the pain of seeing your dog not being able to move. I had a Shiloh Shepherd who had hip displacia and after a little over 9.5 years he was experiencing so much pain in his back legs. My family decided that since there were no good long term treatment options, it was best for Obie to cross rainbow bridge.

Must be common. I had 2 dogs that size who both had that same problem at the end of their lives. It’s incredibly sad when things happen to our animals.
