    I got into zero based budget through you. Tracking every penny that goes in and out of my account is great. I know exactly how much I’m going to spend , and more important save for the month. Really for the whole year since my budget is extremely predictable as I’ve been doing it for years

    I use a spreadsheet which integrates a cash flow, fixed and one off expenses, investment income and taxes. So for example, a Roth conversion has no cash impact at the time of the conversion, but it does have a tax impact at tax time. The payment of taxes on the conversion will have a cash impact. A dividend payment will have a cash impact at time of payment and at tax time. The important thing for me to know is how much money I need in my bank account at any given time which in turn drives how much I need to withdraw from investments…
