I converse with friends and family in English all the time because of having pvt school education forced on us by our parents who were and it was the trend at the time and still is if you want to give your children and better chance in life. Good English opens doors because we are forced to exist in this superficial world. But spiritually it is the language of our ancestors that opens doors more easily.

There are many words that isiXhosa doesn't have, and English is more deeper in that sense. It is not as deep as the greek and hebrew language but it is deeper than our limited african languages. Your language of ease determines your audience and reach. For Nathi his target audience is the Xhosa people and there is nothing wrong with that at all but we are not all the same because we are not here for the same purpose. I'm more comfortable and fluent praying in English because even the books I read and my bibles are English books. That is not something to judge anyone about, because I don't have your level of fluency in Sotho or Xhosa but that does not mean you're not intelligent. Not being fluent in English or not being able to read and write doesn't mean you are not intelligent.

Our subjects at school are taught in English, so the mind and tongue get used to this language. Also God does not discriminate according to language.
