This is why Streetwise New Yorkers do not make eye contact with anyone. They sit and read the WSJ or the NY Post. That's the underlying message here. It's about the way you protect your belongings, like his wallet for instance... and his phone. Never carry your phone in your hand and do not make eye contact-esoecially while standing up-they will seize the opportunity.
