Ahoy Captain. As always, another outstanding video. Appx 12:35 ~ yeah, I well remember when the kid dropped that commemorative to honor his dad a few years back. Very touching moment in Mummers history Appx 14:20 ~ I gotta agree that South Philly are the NY Yankees of Mummers Parade. I voted them # 1 for this year. Simply the best. Castlevania ~ what a show! Appx 37:50 ~ I loved that deep bass saxophone. Very compelling music. Great to see so many young people keeping up the Mummers tradition. This is one great fest that's gonna be around for a long time to come. Defo deserves nationwide and worldwide attention. Years ago WGN broadcasted part of it. They should so again. I was shocked to see Ferko at # 9. Jeepers! They deserved a higher ranking. I thought they had great costuming, dancing, and music. Definitely did better than 9th place. Thanks for showing the world what a great thing the Mummers are. GREAT video.
Thanks for the behind the sceans of the Mummers parade on New Year’s Day. You showed how hard they prepare even up to the time they start the parade. Then some live shots along the parade route and the traditional 2 street parade back to the club house. Seeing them watch their performance back at the club house. Finally seeing their disappointment with their finishing position but ready to try and improve for next year and feel proud how well they did. Happy New Year to all!
There is nothing like this Parade. It is totally crazy and fun. I have not seen one in person in years, but it's something you never forget. Let's Go..... Awesome job Philly Captain....🎉🎉
I’m so confused on how these bands work 😭 I’m from National Park SJ. My town apparently used to have a stringband but they stopped it, that year there was one guy walking around our town with the whole suit on and everything. I never even realized how important it was having that band in our town
Happy New Year Captain. I do love your Mummers vlogs. It takes me back to when my Grandmom and I would take a bus trip to see them every year. I’m going to date myself when I say this, but I remember when the Mummers only allowed men to participate. It’s great to see the young men and women carry on the tradition. Thanks for the memories my friend.
Thanks for making this video Captain! It's been too many years since I've seen the Mummer's Parade and I've never seen a behind the scenes like this one! Happy New Year! I was expecting a massive amount of ostrich feathers but I guess they don't wear so much anymore.
IAM Tony MARIO ORCHESTRAL GUITARIST AND SPORTS CAR 🚗 and as a young man around 16 yrs old I played in the mumers day parade every new Year's day in the string band division it was a great fun time to play along with my friends ed Gibson, and Jim tiedakin,,Bobby Jones ,we also played other venues beside the parades, the name of the string band was THE PETER BROMAAL STRING BAND,IT WAS A GREAT MEMORY OF MY LIFE ! TODAYS STRING BAND HAVE BECOME REALLY GREATER SOUNDING TODAY AND THE ROUTINES ARE MUCH BETTER NOW THAN WHEN WE PLAYED OVER SIXTY YEARS AGO.
Thank you Captain love your chanel I'm from CT. and I now love Philly those string bands are great can watch them all day what a beautiful city full of people who know how to have a good time , thanks so much.
Thanks Captain for a great performance. Brought back memories of my time in PA. My last Mummers parade live was in 1979. I always try to catch it on TV or now on the internet from my home in Florida 44:21
I really think MeTV oughta get you a gig for 2026 for the man on his scoot BTS interviewer/coverage. This video hits hard because everyone has their heart and soul completely into this day, in their community, and in one another. That is a beautiful thing. Mummers Forever!
Hey I was with Greater Kensington String Band and I got to meet you while we were warming up- it was wonderful to meet you in person! And yes, we did get away with our props 😌
That man at the end though, how did you feel when you stepped out that's what matters! The city wins every New Year's Day bc we are the home of the one and only Mummer's Parade. 🔔 I Love our city and I Love Us
Thank you for sharing this ! Just subscribed (could’ve sworn I did already 🤔) But I’ve been wondering what happened to The Mummers ,,every year on New Year’s Day my whole life ,then gone ,I’m so glad to see this is still going on and came across a news video about them ,it warmed my heart seeing people commenting bring back the broadcast ,never realized it’s like 10 hours long 😂someone said ,I’d definitely watch it all ,sending love and thanks from a rolling hill over in Pa.❤️
I can't believe you mentioned your favorite band polish-american did Dr high tech I think that was around 1985 and then they did the same thing the next year that is exactly what got me into the mummers even more my father belonged to the Polish American club and I'll never forget that I was shocked when you mentioned that that just become the most popular theme of all time
My dad played for PA in the 50s and 60s. They won 2 or 3 times when he played. I think the first Dr. Hi-Tech was 1986 and 1987. When they won in ‘86, my dad took us to watch them drill up Allegheny Ave.
@@flatlineracer3207 Yes. Danielewicz. 1987 was Dr. Hi-Tech and His Computer Concerto. Wasn’t as good as the Robot Ramble, tho. I think they opened Robot Ramble with “Rock It” and my dad said immediately that they had first. When my dad wasn’t marshaling (for Duffy), he would call someone and pretty much get the results before everyone. He died in 1991 at the age of 49.
I saw a UA-cam video a few years ago of a parade in a town called reveno pa it was there fall foliage parade reveno is about 3 to 4 hours north west of here its up above Williamsport pa and lock haven pa and reveno pa acutely had one of the mummers string bands come up there to March in the parade
The Mummers put time, effort, money, planning into putting on a show to entertain the people. The comics just want to get drunk, put on silly costumes, and put no effort into it (well, the wenches comics. The actual comics who make floats, etc, they're all right) ... I grew up in South Philly, back in the day, we would spend hours at the parade.
I don't see what's the problem with putting ketchup on hotdogs. I do and it tastes fine to me. I put ketchup and mustard on my hotdogs. There are people who put ketchup on eggs and I think that's weird.
I grew up in Philly. Being at the Mummers is wild! I mean, you get chills. It's amazing! So much love and good vibes.❤
Hands down the best video ever. Loved the behind the scenes. Thank you!
Captain this was so interesting. I'm 67 and have loved them from afar always 😊TY
Wonderful and entertaining content! thanks captain for sharing the mummers parade.
The editing on this was flawless
Awesome mummer video as usual, one of my favorite videos of the year. We need more Mummer videos during the year. Happy New Years and GO PHILS.

The greatest show on earth. I miss the after party on 2 street, that was a ripper! This is one of the reasons I miss living in Philadelphia.
Thanks alot, i missed most of the parade this year, nice insider view
