I am .still jamming out to one of the best singers this century has ever seen. The 80s and 90s were the decades to live in ,for real telants.2024 keep up.
I’m Italian and The other day I was at a red light in my car in Washington Heights pumping a freestyle song and this Puertorican girl started dancing in front of my car. Loved it!
I’m about as Anglo as they come (and Norse, Icelandic, etc), and this has been one of my favorite songs for almost four decades I think this is an utter masterpiece. I have worn out sufficient cassettes, CDs, and downloads to prove it. If I were a zillionaire, I’d, um, take George Lamond to a really nice dinner-anywhere on the planet.
The greatest thing about freestyle besides that it was and is dance-able is that it had lyrics that made sense and we were able to relate to the words. Today... it's all about a good hook! Freestyle was super strong when I was in HS. I still play it at home and in the car, so my kids know it and appreciate it! It will remain alive within me as long as I live!
I was 17yrs old back in 1985. I used to love all freestyle music and house music. I danced at Roseland, Emerald City The Fun House. Those were the days!!!!!
Being a teen 17-18yrs old was the best. The music, hanging out with friends. Having a boyfriend. That music was real, not cursing or calling females out their name. ❤
The funny thing is I was in San Jose, CA at the same time and we had the same Freestyle culture, just some different artists. I think San Jose and Miami were the Freestyle capitals of the 80s, even tho the Bronx had Lisa Lisa and a few others.
Before Bruno Mars, there was George Lamond. He rocked the show every time I watched him. Still now, 25 years later he can still sing and make my heart go pitter patter!
I’m 47 and remember high school parties and going to clubs over the bridge in NYC from college dancing and grinding to this jam. Still better than most shit today
Ruben B Ramirez 46 from Chicago.......gonna blast this in the ice rink.....and yes, it's actually called Freestyle Ice...cause you have to be at a certain skill level to get on....pretty cool, huh?

One of the best freestyle songs of all time, I remember how psyched I was when I first bought the 12" when it came out........................I got myself a pair of metal tipped Zodiacs and Dr. Martens too that same day........at 9th street in The Village.....
The lantin freestyle fever hit Brazil too back then. Freestyle is gotta be the most underappreciated music genre of all time. You see no music historians talking about anymore, but we will never forget it.

He had class as an artist, the way he dressed and his music simply the best. I like that he implemented the opera sound, with piano and violins. His new song, "Believe in love", it's already a classic.
There's no one who could ever love me like you loved me I remember how it used to be There was no stronger love And now I can't believe I was only too blind to see That your love is inside of me And now I don't have anything at all Every night I think as time just passes by Why I left your love and how it made me cry Now that I found out, don't know what to do My life feels so empty, so empty alone without you Without you, without you I don't know what I'll do without you girl Without you my love is in your hands There's nothing left to live for There's nothing left to do without you Every night I sleep, I sleep with a fantasy That your here, its just you and me Just like it always was But then I'm left to see that it was only a memory And what's left is for me to be alone without your love Every night I think as time just passes by Why I left your love and how it made me cry Now that I found out, don't know what to do My life feels so empty, so empty alone without you Without you, without you I don't know what I'll do without you girl Without you my love is in your hands There's nothing left to live for There's nothing left to do without you

Every night I think as time just passes by
Why I left your love and how it made me cry
Now that I found out, don't know what to do
My life feels so empty, so empty alone without you
Without you, without you
I don't know what I'll do without you girl
Without you my love is in your hands
There's nothing left to live for
There's nothing left to do without you
Every night I sleep, I sleep with a fantasy
That your here, its just you and me
Just like it always was
But then I'm left to see that it was only a memory
And what's left is for me to be alone without your love
Every night I think as time just passes by
Why I left your love and how it made me cry
Now that I found out, don't know what to do
My life feels so empty, so empty alone without you
